September Exercise Challenge - Get Fit For Fall!

Back to the gym for 60 minutes today! (230/1000)
@Twilight Sparkle and @ljcrochet - Paris is such an amazing city. I feel so at home there. Our favorite thing is to just explore different neighborhoods and enjoy café life! We won’t get to DLP on this trip. We’ll only be there for 4 days at the end of our trip. One of our cruise stops is Strasbourg. I can’t wait! We’re doing a side trip to Colmar, too. It’ll be a busy two weeks!
On your WDW trip -SDD is worth the wait! It’s really a fun ride. In November, we’ll stay one night at Pop Century - excited to take the Skyliner!

210 minutes since last check in - finally got to ride on Sunday!!!!! It was wonderful. Unfortunately, I haven't done so since because after that I decided to flip a mattress by myself and strained my back. I have walked and stretched a bit since then to try to work out the kink, but am conceding the battle and heading to the chiropractor this afternoon. My mind keeps assuring me I'm still young, but my body is starting to let me know otherwise. I don't like this getting old thing.

1290/1200 Goal!!!!! Yay!!!! Wasn't sure I'd get there this month.

Off topic, but hoping for some friendly help from our group's world travelers. The more research we do, the more unsure we are if we should do DLP or spend the extra time exploring France, Germany, and Switzerland (we could get an extra 2 nights in Switzerland - making that 3 nights instead of 1 - or an extra night there (2 instead of 1) and an extra night in Paris (4 nights instead of 3) plus more time for day trips to Germany from Strasbourg). Obviously we love Disney or I wouldn't be here, but we're wondering if it would be better to explore countries we've never experienced before rather than spend three nights at DLP. Maybe we could return one year in the spring to do DLP. Or would we be crazy to pass it up while we're already so close? I'm reading that DLP will likely be insanely cold, possibly wet, and very crowded in December, too, since school would be out. What would you do?

ljcrochet, keep up the good work with the running!!!! You guys rock.

PollyannaMom, yes, good deeds should trump a lot of things.

BonnieF, Colmar is an easy day trip from Strasbourg. Interested in hearing what you think of it since it's on my list of possibilities. It looks adorable, and I believe I read that it's the town that inspired the setting for the Beauty and the Beast movie.

Lol. sophy1996's comment about walking the dog and PollyannaMom's previous comments about walking her cat made me remember something to share with you all. My daughter became "mom" to a bird in June, and now that bird has a harness so it can go outside. We've found in addition to sitting on tree branches, the bird also likes walking on the ground. So now we can walk the bird! The pace is somewhat lacking, but it's still fun.

I like Disney too (obviously!) but I would add at least one night in Switzerland. I hate trips that have stops of only one night. You hardly have any time to explore anything and you're already on the way again.

In 2016 we did a day trip from Paris just to get a taste of DLP and though I would have liked more time, I was happy with that compromise between visiting the park and seeing other things in Paris.

I don't think I've ever heard of walking a bird. :rotfl2:

30 minutes in the yard - just about done!!

Twilight Sparkle - with only a short time in Paris, I’d skip DLP. There’s just too many other sights to see, especially if it’s first visit. Plus, I think you’re right about the weather at that time of year. I agree with Sophy1996 - one night stops are just too little!
And walking a bird - I want pix!!
MikeNamez - 70 miles 😱😱

210 minutes since last check in - horses, walking

1500/1200 to finish the month

Thanks for hosting again, @GrandAdmiralStrife ! And thanks to @sophy1996 for picking up October!

Also, thanks for the trip input. So new plan is to add at least another night to Zurich. We would love to add more but we're really mostly interested in the Old Town (Aldstadt), and I think two nights might be enough for that. We have already decided we'll return one day to hit more cities in Switzerland when it's not so cold. I'm trying to add more time to Paris, too, but our VRBO might already be booked past our original check out date. If I can add more or find another place to stay, then we will only take a day for DLP. If we cannot, we will skip DLP this time. So, while Disney was the reason we started thinking about this trip, it might not actually make it onto the itinerary. Lol! This all started when DH and I were pricing a 2020 Christmas trip to WDW and just for fun decided to price a trip to France that included DLP. Then it morphed into a multi-country trip, and we're still going to be cheaper than what we were pricing for WDW.

See you all in the October thread!
