Speaking of ‘bugs’, anyone know what kind of spider this is? It was in the back of our yard and my ds8 got it to hang on a stick and he brought it up to the back porch and called for me, knowing I’d probably have a heart attack.

Are the legs hairy or is that just me projecting onto the spider? No thank you!

A question for anyone in a position to hire employees - do you care what undergraduate school they went to?

To make this cc related, other than schools that accept CC payments directly without additional fees, what methods are good for paying schools?

For the most part I would say no, unless there's a specific reason you'd get a major from one school over another. My biz school was accredited the same as harvard's biz school, so why would it make a difference for undergrad. I think once you get to advanced degrees, and more PHD's it matters. Though I'd want to make sure it's at least a real school and not a diploma factory for a bachelors.

I do think there are some majors where it matters, but I think they are more specialized and not offered many places. Where they interned and worked during school would matter more I think.

When I'm somewhere that the person has their degrees on the wall and I see they did their undergrad and grad at the same school I just think, oh too lazy to go elsewhere, not good enough to go somewhere else etc. Though that would also depend on the quality of the school, but then I'd think, why'd you need to get your undergrad at harvard if you could go somewhere cheaper and then get your masters etc there. I think it's good to go other places to meet new minds, teachers, different environment etc.

Can I just say I like frosted cherry pop tarts and how about those O’s? They actually managed to break the 50 game win despite the lack of star talent.

You're welcome for the win yesterday :) The M's have 6 games to win 4 to make it to 70 so still a chance.

Okay all y'all wimps! I need to know what kind of spider that is! If it is something venomous, I may have to call a company. I've seriously never seen anything like it. And yes, @afan, the legs were hairy!

Y'all are just lucky I didn't post the video or make the pic big :rotfl:
Intriguing little fella. No idea what it is though. A SUPER quick Google search has me looking at an orb weaving spider? Doesn’t look serious if that’s it. https://www.termite.com/spider-identification.html

I don't know how, but I think there's a way to google search with a photo. But also there should be some kind of message board or something you can upload it to. A coworker did that for some huge a** beetle we found on the wall next to the door into the shop in NC. I swear the bugs in NC are on steroids, they are SO much bigger than anywhere else I've ever been. Or maybe post on your fb?

All I know is it isn't a brown recluse, cause I've seen those.

Question about booking a flight with AA miles. Can I change or reschedule flight and get points back or are they non refundable? Just found out my DH could have jury duty this winter and we were thinking about possible booking a flight with AA miles for February or March. Want to know what our options are before we book. We haven’t even decided where we are going yet. It’s all up in the air right now. First we were thinking of going to California, visiting some family and then Hawaii from there. But now our family brought up the idea of going to Cozumel and meeting there instead.

I've actually googled a lot and I saw those but his body (abdomen??) looked so different from those. At first I thought he had something on his back. It looked hard and not like a part of him. Super weird. You may be right though as that was the closest I got to for an ID.

@wendow yeah, my DH uses Google Lens often for that. Works pretty well!

I tried to figure out the google photo thing but never could. I'll look more into that.

My dh is currently not in a hiring manager role but he was for 12 years and no, what school someone went to never played a part. I doubt he even took notice. And this is one reason why our kids will do their basics at community college.

I was eating dinner lol
Well... I wasn't going to say it... but since you brought it up:

When all else fails we know @Haley R will inject life back into the thread :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I do love your off-topic stuff, it adds color and character to our little group :D :D :D (Plus the off topic chatter certainly throws the rats and moles off our scent) 😉

You can change the date/time/route for no fee as long as your origin and destination remain the same, and travel has to be within 12 months of original booking. You can redeposit miles for a fee - $150 for the 1st pax and $25 for each add'l pax on the PNR. Booking one-ways gives you more flexibility if you only need to change one direction, but your redeposit fees would double as well if you changed both directions so you would need to decide what you value more.

I love Lock & Lock containers. Thank goodness no issues with bugs or anything I just like some food items in storage containers.
Dh said he wants to wait until they come tomorrow and see what they say before we go buy a bunch of containers

Wanna see the spiders I find all over the top of our lanai? I kill them with a rock because they freak me out and they’re spiky lol. We have multiple rocks out back with blood on them. Apparently they’re harmless but I don’t want them making webs above my head while I’m swimming. They are kind of cool looking though

@kmc8826 @tink1970 Just saw an Amex offer for Delta. Spend $200 and receive $40 off. Expires 11/21/19. Only had it on one card - DH's EDP. Of course, it wasn't on his Delta card!

My mom just got that on her Amex yesterday. I was texting her to tell her to book the spring break flights I found and she was all excited she was able to use an offer.
