We Broke All The Printers! - A Hurricane Dorian TR- Updated 10/26 *COMPLETE*

How nice to have first class seats especially with the weather and flight cancellations! I’m glad the airport wasn’t to crazy at TSA!

We stayed in Rarotonga once, I liked it, very close to ceremonial hall!

Joining in! Glad you made in to Disney!

I can only imagine how super stressed you must've been tracking the weather and making the last minute changes but it seems like it all worked out well thankfully!

Love your pet pictures- they're super cute 🥰 🥰 .

Following along!
:welcome: Thanks for following!

Looking forward to reading about your adventures with Dorian!
:welcome: Glad to have you join us!

OMG, thank goodness your flight wasn't cancelled! She should have verified BEFORE giving you a heart attack.
Right?!?! I think she was a little harried herself and wasn't thinking.

How cool that your cousin surprised you with first class seats!!!
It was a super nice surprise, especially with how stressed we all were!

I really enjoyed the more comfortable seats...and the drinks :rotfl2: We really like the Poly but the beds were pretty uncomfortable compared to the ones at the Contemporary. We didn't stay at the Poly long enough to check out much else.

It was certainly a stressful start to our vacation but I think we enjoyed everything even more because of it. I had to share the pet pictures, otherwise what type of fur mom would I be?😍

Joining in! You had quite the adventure getting there! I can't wait to see how everything turned out. :)

Just found this in your siggie. :)
Coming up, a story of last minute plan changes, heat, hurricane scares, heat, trying out new restaurants, heat, and days we never used a Fastpass!
So was it hot?
I live in Minneapolis, MN
Howdy, neighbor! :)
he kept repeating that Dorian would stay offshore.
And simultaneously hit Alabama.

:rolleyes1
On September 1st, our flight out for Tuesday morning (the 3rd) became part of Delta’s offer to change or cancel for free.
Oh really? Didn't know that happened.
After not sleeping much, I had 2 pets to care for today and that wasn’t enough to keep me distracted!
I totally get this. I should be sleeping right now.
(My cab comes in another 2.5 hours)…
but oh well.
My dogs gave me sad puppy eyes
Awww...
and my cat seemed pretty indifferent to me leaving.
 Par for the course!
Right before everyone arrived to pick me up, I got an email from Delta saying my flight was canceled and I just about had a heart attack!
Once I opened the email, I realized it was our original flight for Tuesday morning that was canceled but I also saw that MCO would be closing at the end of Monday’s flights. Whew.
Oh, man! Phew!!
DC surprised us with first class tickets.
Wow! That's really nice!
people were reporting 2-3 hour waits, but we made it through in about 10 minutes,
"Our wait will be two - three hours!!!... or 10 minutes."
as soon as DC scanned her ticket the gate agent told us to wait because our flight had been delayed or possibly canceled.
:faint:
I literally thought I was going to cry.
I was seated next to a nice lady who had just run through the airport to make her connection and she started drinking right away. I completely understood the feeling!
 I can totally relate!
I also had the fun experience of realizing my aerosol sunscreen had exploded in my checked bag. It ate through the ziploc it was in, ate the paint off my hairclips, turned my toothbrush into powder, oil stained a bunch of clothing, and ate through the lining of my suitcase.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that.

Glad you all made it there safely! I can't wait to read more.

Ugh on the sunscreen. Although a little scary that it did all that damage and we put it on our skin!

And your big puppy on the landing looks a lot like my boy Dunkin! (my avatar)

:welcome: More coming soon! The sunscreen was a little concerning, I bought some lotion type from the gift shop instead :scared: Luna does look like Dunkin! I bet he's bigger though, she's only about 45 lbs.

:welcome: It was a tad warm, at times :rotfl2:

Hello to another Northerner!

Exactly

It's really the only way to fly :drinking1

September 3rd

We’re at Disney!! Our alarms were set for 5:15 am and we didn’t have much trouble getting up since we all found our beds to be too hard and uncomfortable :( DF had requested the pull out and she said she thought it was probably more comfortable than our queen beds. Oh well, we really weren’t staying long! We packed up our bags and dragged them down to bell services, to find out they weren’t open yet. Luckily the valet was able to take them and get them transferred to the Contemporary for us. We took the short walk to the bus stop and walked right on to a waiting bus. No seats available but we didn’t mind standing since we weren’t tired yet.

We arrived at Hollywood Studios around 5:50 and found out our tickets weren’t working so we headed over to Guest Relations. She said we hadn’t checked in to our hotel yet (but we had online) and she checked us in and got our tickets working. We also asked if our dining plan was up and running as well and she assured us everything was good to go. She also said we would get our room ready text during the day too.

Through the tapstiles we went and there were very few people in the park! Everyone veered off towards Galaxy’s Edge so we decided to start in Toy Story Land instead. DF hadn’t seen it yet and we had a goal of visiting in the dark- we assumed at night, but dark is dark right? We walked on to Slinky Dog Dash first and then walked on to Toy Story Mania. I think I scored around 90,000 but I never score very high. The weather was super hot and humid and I had fun taking pictures of the cloud banks that would move in. It was also very windy and we’d get spells of heavy misting that would last about 10 minutes.

Sorry about the blurry night shots, my phone doesn't love the dark!

After enjoying Toy Story Land we decided it was time to head to Galaxy’s Edge. They weren’t letting anyone enter through TSL so we had to walk around. There was no wait to enter and the crowds were still way lower than I was expecting. This land is amazing!! I’m a huge Star Wars fan and I had so much fun taking pictures of everything. We headed directly to Smuggler’s Run which had a 60 minute wait posted but we only waited about 45 mins. The queue was interesting and I enjoyed the preshow. DF and I were given Engineer positions and DC got to be a Gunner. I loved the ride and DC really liked it too but poor DF gets motion sick and this ride didn’t work for her at all. She mostly stared at her console and didn’t look around. She was fine once it ended so at least it didn’t wreck her day!

It was around 7:30 at this point and we hadn’t eaten yet so we stopped at the popcorn place for some space popcorn. The flavors weren’t terrible but it also wasn’t my favorite. The popcorn was also a bit chewy/stale. We also went to the milk stand and DC and I each got the blue milk with rum (because vacation). I’d heard mixed reviews on this but I really liked it! I’d like to try the boozy green milk too but I was feeling it was a little early in the morning for tequila lol!

We walked through some of the shops and then headed back to Earth and over to Tower of Terror. I had to get a picture of the 13 minute sign and then we walked right in to the preshow. There was a mom with 2 pre teen boys in with us and one of them was not sure he wanted to ride. They started chatting with us and we all told him how much we love the ride. It’s DC and DF’s favorite ride and my 2nd favorite (Team Everest!). As we were loading in to our elevator, the mom told him it was just a screen ride like everything at Universal. Needless to say, he did not enjoy his ride but we all enjoyed ours!

By this point DF and I were starving and needing caffeine badly. DC just rolled her eyes at us as she’s not a coffee drinker or a breakfast eater. DF and I headed in to Starbucks while she went in to the shops. This was the longest line of the day and it took about 30 minutes to get an iced coffee and a bagel. No regrets though!

It was still a million degrees out and the park was getting busier so we decided to head over to Magic Kingdom for a while before the parks closed.

I've been following along with the EEMH thread and it seems like doing it the way you did it is a great way to tackle it! Sounds like it was well-worth the early morning- you guys did so much!

It really worked out well! We did everything and didn't use any Fastpasses, since we originally wouldn't have arrived until the late afternoon anyway. We easily could have stayed at HS and done more rides too.
