I have a totally different offer on my Safeway account.
EARN 8X REWARD POINTS

Visa® Gift Cards
When you buy TWO $50 Visa gift cards. Limit 1 per transaction.*

And the same offer for $100 VGCs.

Ugh. That's no good. I wonder if you can change your store/zip code and trigger the cash off offers.

See, my thought was, I can save $12 to $15 on my groceries with every 800 points I earn at Safeway... could even use on gas, which is slightly out of the way, but would save $11 to $24 depending on the vehicle. So not unusable for me if I had those, but I just see the $10 off coupon in CO.

Buying DD a car in the next three months. Was looking at a 2016 or 2017 Honda Civic LX with low mileage and no accidents. Price with dealer fees looks to be about $15,000 or so (don't want to do a private sale). Carvana and Carmax are closer to $17-$18k. I can get a new 2019 Civic LX for $18.8k including dealer fees. I know giving a new driver a new car is insane. But the 2019 Civic LX has Honda Sensing which the older models don't (unless you go up a trim level). So would you pay $4k more to get a brand new car with a warranty and Honda Sensing? I know insurance and personal property taxes will be higher on the new car.

I'd go with the new car for the Honda Sensing.

We will be looking in a couple of years for DD, and will be looking for a car with the kind of safety features that are available now. There's been a significant leap in safety features in cars that came out this year, so much so that DH and I decided it was worth it for both of us to get new cars, our previous cars were 7 and 12 years old. As we were shopping, the used cars we saw were within $3K-$4K of a brand new car for Hondas and Subarus and Toyotas. (The original thought was that one of these would be a hand me down car to DD, we'll see).

For DH's Toyota, we went with the $900 financing incentive (with no intention of financing it for long). Put $4K on cc as a down payment, and make payments thru plastiq. So far I've paid $5K on his CIP (have received 105kURs), and will do the same for my CIP (another 105kURs). I may buy MCGCs to use as well so I can meet Amex MSRs.

Yeah I think she flew Emirates first or “shower” class... we are peons and are flying economy lol..

My DDs both have flown Emirates economy. The only thing I know is they were excited to get free wine. lol Even when my DD was just 17. :rolleyes1

Those gas rewards multipliers are almost useless to me. There aren’t any Safeway gas stations in the core Bay Area, so we have to use them at Chevron, which limits it to $0.20 off up to something like 20 or 25 gallons. Our car tops out at about 15 gallons and we don’t need gas often anyway. And gas rewards expire, so I’d end up using them for something like a $1 off an avocado.

We are now 5 days out from our WDW Trip!!! I’m asking you all to please keep your fingers crossed for good weather for us. 5 day outlook is showing a 70% chance of a tropical depression forming by the end of the week. I know there are a lot of variables in that and that even if it does happen, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll impact our trip, but I’m so hoping we just get down there without a hitch. I’ve been keeping an eye on the SW nonstop flights to MCO since thats a new route for our airport within the last couple weeks and they have all been on time (or super close anyways). I spent the weekend with my ILs and they are very excited to get down there!

Seriously typed in Google what does POAS mean, then I am like Ohhhhhhhh. lol Got it as I was typing it in, didn't need google after all. :rotfl2: But Yes, I agree. It was my first thought after the weird dreams and not sleeping well also.
Anyone who has experienced fertility issues recognized that acronym immediately. I started laughing out loud and scaring my kids when I read it.

Aim for the $7 off meat lol! No I get it, we have 2 near-ish but out of the way unless coming home from work gas stations. Not even sure about Chevron. But we do have a decently close/convenient store, enough so that I don't mind using some groc rewards. Usually the meat, eggs, butter (before it went to 2 points), pasta. Then move the cost of those items from groc budget to travel budget. I base the cost on what I'd normally pay though, like Costco price for butter, etc. But I can really only use so many a month to make it worth it.

OMG, I absolutely 💕 the Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper version but it was the only one I have seen.

I liked it too. I didn't really have any desire to see it when it was in the theater. But it was one of the SW free movies, so I watched it on a flight and it sucked me in.

I love “Shallow.” If those two did not look madly in love when they were singing it at one of the award shows.

I watched it on a SW flight also and was not expecting the ending. Whyyyyyyyy???? lol I only like happily every after movies.

My wife knows - but I'm not telling the girls. It will be a complete surprise to them! :D (I'm gonna earn that dad of the year award in their hearts over this one!!!)

I've had so many things line up for this trip. This is also the trip where I was originally only going to get 2 park days (with maybe a couple of hours on Sat) and then was able to move up to an earlier SW flight so we'll get all of Sat afternoon/evening and 2 full park days after that. My parents and sister & husband are coming. It's gonna be an awesome trip! (Hopefully all goes well with my wife and the flight...that's the only concern at this point).
This. This is what I love to do. Yes, planning free vacations is fun but all the little extras I can surprise my family with is the sprinkles on top. Like the robes/chocolates/champagne and gift package on DCL; tickets to MNSSHP and WOC dessert party left in our room by Mickey ;) (different trips); upgraded seats on a flight for more legroom and drinks; upgraded room with views at Hyatt and Marriott hotels in Vancouver; upgraded room at Swan.
Hope your girls enjoy! My son would have loved the minions suite a few years ago but I had no idea about churning back then.
