Oh here let me enable help you out. RFID blocking anti-theft Travelon purses. Many different sizes and colors and perfect for traveling so as not to worry about pick pockets. RFID sleeves and wallets and bungees to strap a backpack or personal item on to your carry on and wheel it around.
I want to order a few more Travelon purses to try :rolleyes1 I've been terrible in my search for a new travel purse. And now I'm kind of thinking of getting two wallets, one for domestic travel and one international that could hold my passport... I have a problem now.

I was looking at the bungees yesterday. What one do you use?

Yes! I could see father and son, but I was shocked when I found out about Twila!! I also wondered why she didn't play the actual sister at first, but I think the actress that plays Alexis does a WONDERFUL job. They way she goes back and forth with David is hilarious and like actual siblings! My sister and I jokingly call bad things cute to each other now :rotfl: I also love her relationship with Moira HAHA
I LOVE MOIRA. That actor is a genius. That is all. :rotfl:

So.... unsure if this belongs here or over on strategies, but I don't think this is advanced or anything... I want to help DS,who is very interested in various types of future travel with friends. Background is working at his own biz currently, about to start barber/hair schooling. Has been paying his own insurance/phones etc for a couple of years- CK score is around 800, has 2 cc's he got last year (one by accident due to my mistake lol) a BCE and BoA cashback which he currently gets 3% back on gas and groceries(I think). His goal in life is simplicity-and he doesn't buy a lot,yet he really wants to travel for cheap. Either driving or flying or a combo. What's a good step for him? I know Freedom, and possible one of the inks or sapphires, but looking for some advice. He can't do a huge spend on his own, but I can assist with that if he needs a boost,if an MSR requires it,or help him time it to a large insurance payment, etc. thanks.

DH told me last week that he was only getting paid about $1500 of his commissions this month. He's waiting on thousands currently.

Checking accounts today... why is DHs checking account 10x the amount I expected... um because he got a lot more than $1500 in commissions paid out... lol. I had run his checking account really low :rolleyes1

We have a Rowenta DW5080. Love it! Having suffered through Sunbeams for years. The plate is smooth and the steam is strong. I feel like I get through ironing in half the time it used to take me. The steam is strong enough that I can hold up the iron and use it as a steamer for more delicate fabrics.

We got it from Amazon when it dropped under $50. The price bounces around, so check camelcamelcamel and set up Slickdeals alerts. I think most Rowentas in that range of models and price point will do just fine.
Have you considered a garment steamer instead? I only use my iron while I’m sewing and use my steamer for everything else. I swear by it!
+1 on the Rowenta suggestion. They are smooth and last forever. Mine was a wedding gift. My 17th anniversary is this December - iron is still going strong!
Thanks! I’ll look at that brand.

@schmass I hadn’t thought about it since I was so rarely ironing until now. Any recommendations on a steamer?

Mine says Rowenta Precision valet on it. It’s amazing!

I second this! I have a Rowenta too, from Target 6 or so years ago. It’s all we use. I only drag the iron out if I need creases (rarely as DH WFH 4 days a week and just khakis on the one day in office) or to iron on Girl Scout badges (we have a decent shark iron from amazon or BBB and it works great. Funny thing is I mainly use the steam feature on it 😂). Love my steamer! We even travel with a small portable version (must find room in new packing setup for this!).

OT but if anyone wants to help me think through this I'd appreciate it.

Buying DD a car in the next three months. Was looking at a 2016 or 2017 Honda Civic LX with low mileage and no accidents. Price with dealer fees looks to be about $15,000 or so (don't want to do a private sale). Carvana and Carmax are closer to $17-$18k. I can get a new 2019 Civic LX for $18.8k including dealer fees. I know giving a new driver a new car is insane. But the 2019 Civic LX has Honda Sensing which the older models don't (unless you go up a trim level). So would you pay $4k more to get a brand new car with a warranty and Honda Sensing? I know insurance and personal property taxes will be higher on the new car.

Are there any Costco membership deals out right now? We haven't been members in a while (a year or two?) but thinking of rejoining because we all need eyeglasses, which is getting $$$ at our local eye place.

I've been meaning to post but hadn't had a chance to until now - we're planning a DLR trip next July and wanted to use 4 35k cert and the rest on Bonvoy points (2 certs are mine and the other 2 and the points are being given to me by my mom). Anyways, I really wanted to Fairfield Inn which is really close to the DLR entrance, but had been checking and wasn't available for July at all. I had booked the Springhill Inn Conv Center as a back up, which is a little further. On Friday I checked and the Fairfield Inn was available for our dates - 7/25 - 8/1! So I cancelled the Springhill reservation and of course my free night certs weren't showing in my account. I called Bonvoy and after about a 15 minute call was able to get my nights back and book the Fairfield using my certs. Then I cancelled the reservation in my mom's name, and the points were returned immediately but not the free nights. So, called again (as her), and was able to get those back and book the rest of the nights we needed. :yay::yay: Yay!!! Not sure how I got lucky to have them come open on the last day before the seasonal pricing took effect but I'm very grateful that they did! I just checked and most of those nights are now 40k points instead of 35k.

Nice! Much better than the alternative! LOL

Honestly I don't know that I've seen much in terms of deals on Costco memberships of late (possibly ever).

Who are you??? You iron too? Does your wife know what kind of gem she has. :rotfl2:

My ironing is @amalone1013 style. If the wrinkles don't come out in the dryer then God must have meant for them to be there.

I am still 4 years out from this dilemma but I have a feeling DS will getting a new car. Everything I read and talking to friends who have new drivers says get the best safety features you can.

I would, and did pay that (which was half for DD's brand new car at the time). DD drives like me (so not well) without the 30+ years of experience. If your DD is an excellent driver, perhaps not but to me peace of mind is priceless.

Oh, one more quick success story - went to WHBM to use my Amex spend $100 get $25 off offer to buy a gc for my mom for gifting us her Bonvoy points since she loves WHBM. I (of course) quickly checked out the sale rack since it was an adt'l 40% off the marked down price, and a shirt I had liked before was on marked down even more, but still wasn't sure I wanted it because it was missing an embellishment at the top, so the salesperson was able to order it online for me and ship it to my house for free! So got my mom's $100 gc for $75 and got a super cute tank top for $24 (regular $79). Not bad! :yay:
