Marriott peak and off peak pricing is in effect.

I checked a few of my reservations against the new points pricing, and our stay at the Royal Hawaiian over Christmas week would have jumped from 60k to 70k/night for the whole trip. Glad to have the lower standard points price locked in. My split stay reservation at the Courtyard across from Disneyland dropped by 10k, as dates earlier in Thanksgiving week are now marked as off peak. Rebooked it and got 10k back, then we're off to the Disneyland Hotel!
This sucks because my 35,000 point reservations went up to 40,000 and now they won't let me apply a 35,000 point certificate to it. I have one 50,000 point certificate coming and one 35,000 point certificate but now all my Marriott bookings are 40k/night:(

Garnet Hill is dangerous for me. But everything I get I love.
I want one now. That blue color 😍 You may have noticed I love blue lol

Also I about froze to death on our Labor Day trip. Especially on the way home, on our layover in Dallas I put my new Spirit Jersey on because I was sooooo cold I had goosebumps. So I need one, right? lol

Seriously we all need one.

The blue color block one? I really like that one.

If you haven't checked it out before, here's a room tour I watched when I initially got interested in this room. I TOTALLY didn't realize it at the time but it's by that Tim Tracker dude!
Ha! I forgot to add when the Tim Tracker talk was going on... last night we saw him at Halloween Horror Nights. We were near the entrance to a haunted house in line when the line got stopped, and they pulled probably 30 people back out through the entrance, for about 20 mins we all just waited. Not 100% what happened. But TT was one of the people they pulled out and people started getting super excited and going to meet him. We couldn't see who it was originally, but eventually my Disboard friend we were with was like, oh it's TT! Me: :confused3 I didn't know who he was lol.
I'm glad I have friends like you and others here who remind me that churning decisions don't ALWAYS have to be made solely on point optimization and dollars and cents.
This looks like such a fun thing for your girls!! I want to stay in this room lol. I also get hung up with optimal points value... the other night aunt came over and we were giving her details of our trip. This is the same aunt who went to Orlando last month with her son/his wife/grandson, and she told us they actually sprung for express pass :faint: Just the one time EP, that alone is shocking her son did that, and she said how it was soooo expensive (because her son, even though he and his wife make very good money, will pressure aunt into going on these trips but not help with even a penny, though aunt is on a fixed income - after aunt left that night I guess MIL asked DH if he thinks it's weird that they never help aunt  ). So now I can't wait to have her and MIL staying in a hotel with unlimited EP (which is probably the same per night for the room as it would be to buy them each the EP)

So I did a little thing tonight 🤔 ... I changed my November Universal Hotel booking to AA miles (was previously with URs).

Special Shout-out to @wendow :thumbsup2 who has been super patient with what had to be my tremendously annoying musings and constant over-analyzing! :teacher: So back in August I discovered that the Hard Rock had a "Future Rock Star" suite :rockband: - and it was available with AA miles. :dogdance: (But for some reason it does not show with URs...and never did).

At any rate - it's an AWESOME room (especially for a guy who has a daughter who's current career ambition is "pop star"). So I was back and forth on whether to change my UR 2queen room to this awesome suite with my AA miles. :confused3 It was substantially more expensive so that's why I was pausing, and analyzing, and calculating, and over-analyzing (you get the picture). :teacher: Well I finally decided in mid-August that if AA miles didn't come for Disney in the next week or so that I'd probably book the room. Well, while I was waiting Disney out...the room sells out for Sunday night less than a week later. 😥 I was CRUSHED - it was only then that I realized how badly I wanted that room for my daughters. (And let's face it - for me and my wife too, it's a freakin' awesome room at 800sq. feet - seriously, watch the video!)...

Well...IT CAME BACK tonight! :yay: And after being gently nudged...ok ok, STRONGLY PUSHED :rotfl2: by @wendow I jumped on it with my wife's AA miles. 130k AA miles has us locked into that awesome room and I can cancel the UR booking and get back 54k URs from that. :thumbsup2

This also means that I'm not using AA miles for the 1st portion of my Disney split stay. :scratchin I'm hoping to book on a Disney Visa discount in a week or 2. I'll look to use a TA to get one of those $100 gift card offers or something like that for booking an expensive package. The nice part about this is that I really wanted the dining plan for the first part of our trip since we have a bunch of super expensive meals planned (it actually will save us $200 believe it or not). 😀

At any rate - I booked a Rock Star room and now I'm a ROCK STAR DAD!!! :rockband: I'm pretty pumped about this if you can't tell. I just needed to look in the mirror and realize that sometimes point optimization isn't the only factor! Sometimes you just gotta do something AWESOME! 😀😀😀

EDIT: I also put $9.90 on my CSR just because... even though I'm fairly certain on a hotel only booking with AA miles, that CSR doesn't give you any protection based on how it's worded, lol.
That room looks awesome! Your girls are gonna have a great trip!!!

That is fantastic! As a mom of two girls - I am sure your daughters will be ecstatic!!!

I feel for you! Last night was the first night I slept good in 3 days. The past few days I woke up at 1 or 2 and couldn’t go back to sleep for hours.
Dh went to the store to get stuff for breakfast. I normally just don’t eat breakfast because I don’t wake up early enough lol. For some reason I really want cheddar cheese, bacon, and I want to make pickle wraps. I think I’m just really hungry 🤣
