I apologize as I think I've asked before, but how quickly is precheck available after the interview? Does it take a few days for approval?
We had mixed results. Mine was available by the next morning and my husband's took a few weeks. No idea what the difference was except he has a common name.

@SouthFayetteFan - on the other source, I found a link to a post I made here about DVC. One item has changed in there - you now need to purchase 75 points to get the direct perks (plus there is a rumor it's going to 100 - just a rumor so far). At the time of my post it was still just 25. I was going to edit the post but since it's back in 2017 - you can only 'report' it.
Thanks - where did you see that? Can you link it?

I don’t know if anyone or anyone’s kids are into the Fjallraven backpacks but there is a Groupon for them for $30. I don’t know why but bought 2 - youngest son and ????me, niece?

Thanks for this. DD18 was looking at these for college but decided against spending the money. Not sure how big the Medium would be - but got her one anyway. She can use it for something.

@kidsfirsttrip I got all my Delta miles refunded :( I hadn't checked for a few days and just assumed a voucher was on the way. Nope. I got my miles (not doubled) back. I want to cry. I wanted the voucher. I should have just booked the dates I wanted and not cancelled.
But doesn't this mean you at least cashed out Skypesos for Disney tickets at 2cpp?

DD just bought another one (she has a regular Kanken) but she wanted the 17" laptop one which is $120. It was a 16th birthday present (she is 16 today!) so I was willing to splurge.

I'm so behind! 13pages, darn work!

I got a phone when I turned 16 and started driving. The free sanyo flip phone out at the time lol. Then just before I left for college, just under two years later, I got an LG Rumor, which had a slide out keyboard, and we added texting. Seriously we stopped on our way out of town that night :rotfl: I never learned to text without a full keyboard. Id been begging and offering to pay for texting for months. My sister also got the free flip phone then, at 14, since she was in more activities than I'd been.

Our upgrade date was always in the fall, and my sophomore year of college, my dad decided the responsible adults should all get blackberries. So we all got Curves and data/internet access and there was no turning back for me! I really liked that phone but most sites weren't mobile friendly yet lol. And if you're following this was only about a year from the last upgrade. My dad was always kind of into gadgets and computers...

Then when 2 years rolled around again my dad and I both read reviews to figure out the best new phones for us... I cant remember, my sister might have been included in the fancy smart phones now at 17. Or gotten a BlackBerry passed down. We settled on Motorola smartphones for having the best reviews at the time. Those were good phones too.

I know iPhones came out sometime, and my sister had been asking for one for awhile. I had friends with them and... wasnt impressed :duck: This was 2013 and the few years prior. Everyone I knew either loved it or was indifferent, and they were expensive, no storage, insurance didnt cover anything on them (at the time), broke easily... so when my dad asked me what I thought of them, vs other phones out there, I gave him my laundry list of issues, I had zero interest in them and had always been a PC girl anyways, and also compared them against some other android phones that I would prefer. I didnt care if my sister got one if she wanted one so bad, but I wanted something else

Christmas rolls around and there are TWO iPhone 5cs. Those were the colored plastic ones (I can see @MKTokyo cringing lol). Basically my new evil stepmother thought iPhones were the best and that overrode my personal decision on whatever android I preferred :( Even though she was not as techy as I was, not even close. The 5c was sized slightly differently than they 5 and 5s so none of the accessories ever fit. I was upset it was only 16gb because I'd already had an sd card in my old 32gb phone... the best thing about it was I got $300 for selling it to Verizon 2 years later :rotfl:

Then I got a Motorola Droid Turbo 2 which was great until at two years it started crashing all the time. Now I've got a Galaxy S8 which is two years old this month. I liked my Droid better. Now I've got that itch since it's been 2 years, but on the other hand I like my $60 phone bill...

Hmmm. Think we are going to try and squeeze in my ILs on Monday and hope it's there by Friday but if not that's okay :)

The colors I wanted sold out so fast :( I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Oh no!!!! I’m so sorry!!!!!
I think it prob happened because you canceled in under the 24 hours so they provide a full refund. Thought since you bought the insurance that might have been avoided. This sucks!!!

Oh no! I'm sorry that happened. Interestingly, when I was looking for info about Delta Vacations (and buying insurance and canceling), what I found through Google was people complaining about getting a voucher rather than their miles back (which makes sense without the double redemption).

I'm guessing from the hold that was on my reservation because of the park tickets that Delta Vacations is scrutinizing these bookings. What I don't know is whether that's just because these are unusual bookings but otherwise okay, or whether these booking managed to slip through some cracks that will be addressed when/if there is another promotion.

It's 4am and I just came up on this post with the noxious warning and immediately thought it had started again! Then I focused and read your post and realized you had found UBlock!
Does that work on safari on iphone? I've never had issues in chrome on my laptop (must be do to my other ad blockers) but over the last couple weeks that redirect pop-up happens whenever I try to read DIS on cellular data (my current ad blocker on my phone only works on wifi). tagging @PolyRob

@Lain or others- How does Autoslash work? They sent me a list of pricing for my dates, do I go directly to that rental agency to get the pricing? It was 1/2 of the price that I was seeing on the UR portal so a significant savings even if I do need to OOP.

Click through the Priceline link, activate Ebates, add your rental car company account number if you’ve got status, book and pay at counter (not prepay if you want your status recognized).

I downloaded Ad Blocker but it does nothing for the redirects. Turning off java works but then I can’t bookmark, multi-quote, and it messes up most other websites. I’ve noticed less traffic on the other topics here on the dis so hopefully the owners of the site fix it since it’s hitting their pocket. It’s gotten ridiculous how often it happens.
Fwiw on chrome on my laptop I use Adblock Plus and AdBlock and have never had a redirect. Although if @PolyRob is getting it done with just one extension it might be time to switch!

there no uBlock on the ios platform but there are a ad blockers that are built in for all of your iPhone/Ipad needs... i have a rather old one called 1block(i think) to which i wont recommend because they tried to go into a subscription mode and decided to force ppl to it if u kept it up to date.

Im currently filtering my ads physically at the router level though, but i use ublock origins... NOT TO BE CONFUSED with ublock. they are 2 different blockers. use ublock origins and not ublock.

You guys are really making me think about homeschooling. It sounds like such a different experience than it used to be. Dh is worried about the social aspect but it sounds like that’s not a problem anymore. We come from a small town in Iowa and there were only a few families that homeschooled and it was all for religious reasons.

I’ll have to do my research when that time comes. It could still change a bunch before then! I like the fact that you get one on one time with their learning and can individualize it to fit their needs (speed up, slow down, work on topics that aren’t normally taught at school if the child is interested in them).
the socializing question has been put to rest longggg ago...:thumbsup2 in fact when mine were young our biggestproblem was all the opportunities we had to say NO to....there was just too much going on all the time! (I myself hosted a general meetupgroup, book clubs, art clubs, etc) over the years. @Andysol looks like you're living the dream with your adorable fam.... now following you on IG! (BTW I love those suitcases and packs, maybe one day if my current stuff wears out,if it ever does...)

I've been using Norton Ad Blocker on my iPhone and iPad. It seems to have been doing a good job and I haven't had a redirect with Safari. I don't believe uBlock Origin is available in iOS.

I previously used Firefox Focus which is a content blocker and also integrates with Safari. It also did a great job, but it did it a little TOO well and the DVC website would not load on my iPhone. There was no way for me to filter pages out WITH the Safari integration so I had to find an alternative. 🤣
