Throw Up on the Lap Bars Please- A June 2019 TR! COMPLETED 3/1!

I had seen posts on social media of this right before we went and I was so happy to do it so easily! You have to stand very still in place while they do it (which isn't easy for me) and on the last day of our trip we did it again and there was a family in front of us who weren't able to complete it because their children were moving too much for the camera to capture them (or so we learned from the CM!)
I guess I now know I will never be able to do this one with the kids :rotfl2: Your pictures turned out very cute.

About this time, a couple probably in their 60s came up asking the CM when the train departed next. When she started going through the refurb spiel, the man spazzed out about how things are always closed when he comes to Disney! Mike will find any excuse to talk to people so he tried to tell the man about the Tron construction and how cool the ride looks but he was fixated on regaling the CM with his woes of ride refurbs so thankfully,we moved on (I try to avoid talking to people as much as possible).
:lmao::lmao:I relate to this so hard expect at Disney, I am real chatty Cathy at Disney.

A little (very shaky) video I took of what the machines do. I know you were all on the edge of your seats!
Very cool, thanks for sharing

We brought one of the AP cutting boards we got from Food and Wine last year to get autographed (they're too small to really be functional).
I LOVE this idea, I may steal it :rolleyes1

Got to love people who don't check the refurbishment schedule before going to WDW. I guess it just baffles me, too, because even on the trips when my favorite attractions are closed, there's so much else to see and do that it's impossible not to find something. People just like to be cranky, sometimes.

Agreed. I just can't understand spending so much money on a vacation and not doing the most basic research. My first couple trips to WDW were in January and Splash was always down for refurb and we had amazing trips anyway!

Love your tattoo!

Thank you! 🥰

I like the shot with the Minnie statue. Your mouse ears match. :goodvibes

Thank you! It's funny how I ended up loving it after initially hating it lol.

I fell way behind but am all caught up now. I cannot believe all the trouble you had with the magic bands and then that "manager." That is just ridiculous. We had similar issues a few years back and they gave us 3 anytime FPs too so clearly that is standard practice.

It was by far, the worst CM interaction we've ever had at Disney. Sadly, we've come to expect the Magicband issues at this point but we expect a helpful response from the CMs! And yeah, I feel like they give out FPs for anything these days so I'm not sure what that was about!

guess I now know I will never be able to do this one with the kids :rotfl2: Your pictures turned out very cute.

:rotfl::rotfl:Thank you!

:lmao::lmao:I relate to this so hard expect at Disney, I am real chatty Cathy at Disney.

I definitely talk to people way more at Disney than anywhere else but I still air on the side of not talking to people. :rotfl:

Very cool, thanks for sharing

You're welcome!

I LOVE this idea, I may steal it :rolleyes1

Please do! I stole it from social media or Pinterest to begin with lol!

Pinky Promise You Won't Kiss Me?

Just a quick real life update first: If you wouldn't mind keeping my little brother in your thoughts, I would appreciate it. He texted us from the bus on the way to school this morning to say his shoulder and ribs started hurting him and he couldn't breathe. My sister picked him up and I met them at the ER where he was diagnosed with a spontaneous pneumothorax. Thankfully he is doing well and they are just watching him overnight to repeat his x-rays. It's been a scary day and certainly not how he expected to start his senior year!

Now, this update brought to you from the pediatric hospital wing:

-----------------
We left off walking down Main Street to use our 7DMT FP and meet Peter Pan.

We ended up with quite a few detours on this path. The first was to stop and examine the construction on the path next to the castle.

I am beyond glad they widened that path. It was always SO congested.

I quickly glanced over and saw that not only was Mary Poppins meeting in the gazebo, but Bert was with her! The best part was, there was no line at all. I feel like most people don't realize she's meeting back there because we've found her with no line at all several times now.

We had a lovely chat about our holidays and since Mary and Bert don't travel with photopass, Mike opted to be the photographer only for this meet. I also don't think he's ever seen Mary Poppins. :scared:

Noon was quickly approaching and I was getting hungry. I didn't want a full meal since we were having an early dinner and I had the perfect snack in mind! So, we were off to Frontierland.

Apparently we stopped for some random photopass pictures with the Rivers of America sign🤷‍♀️.

Why was there a photopass stationed there? We may never know. But since there was, we had no choice but to stop for a picture.

Disney's description: Chicken Skewer marinated with a spicy sweet sauce 6.99 but I refer to it as glorious chicken-on-a-stick! We bought it last year with the candied bacon in that market in Liberty Sqaure but when I went there this time to buy it, I was redirected to Frontierland. I know it's a pretty simple thing but I love this chicken-on-a-stick. It's very tasty and is a perfect snack when you know you have a meal coming and want something savory instead of sweet!

I assume Mike got one also, even though there's no photo evidence of it, because I wasn't sharing mine!

Our detour through Frontierland was perfect because I saw people with the popcorn bucket I was searching for! So, naturally we made our way to the popcorn cart to purchase it.

I got the Mickey version of this in February so once I knew there was a Minnie version also, I had to have it!

As we were walking back to Fantasyland, I noticed our 7DMT FP had become an anytime FP because the ride was down. It was just around 12:35 at this point and Peter Pan was due to come out at 1 so we decided to start the line.

Quick photoshoot with the Peter Pan wall!

I made a new FP for Haunted Mansion from 12:45-1:45 to use after the meet and greet! We were passing the time eating our popcorn and catching up on social media when WDWToday replied to my tweet asking me to DM them with the particulars of what happened with the CBR manager that morning! So I did that, and soon enough Peter was coming out.

I think I may have only met Peter once before but we had Peter Pan themed shirts on this morning so it was a must-do.

He noticed our shirts right away and asked if they meant I was going to kiss him! I assured him I would not, so he made me pinky promise.

Peter was hysterical and I'm so glad we did this meet and greet!

We took a pitstop to the Tangled Toilets because I can't pass them up and I wanted to change shirts now that we had met Peter. :rotfl:

After a short walk, we were at the Haunted Mansion to use our FP.

The line seemed pretty long too so I was glad we snagged it!

My favorite part of the stretching room (taken without the flash!)

Our first Haunted Mansion ride photo! Clearly one of us knew where the photo was and one didn't.:rotfl:

After not becoming the 1,000 happy haunt, we stopped for a photopass picture with the mansion.

Looks like no hitchhiking ghosts followed us this time!

7DMT was still down, so we saved our anytime FP for later and started to make our way out of the park.

If you thought we weren't stopping for more photos on the way out, you must not have been reading this report closely lol.

And one of my favorites from the trip:

Notice the foreboding sky in the background.

We made our way quickly down Main Street, hoping to make it to the Contemporary before the storm.

But there's always time for photopass!

Especially when the train is parked at the station AND there's no one in the background!

And the photographer said she had the perfect magic shot to go with Mike's shirt (which made me a little sad I had just changed lol)!

And with that, we finally left the Magic Kingdom to start our monorail bar crawl as my phone rang!

Up next: talking to the CBR general manager, our monorail bar crawl, and do we get stuck in a downpour?

I thought it was interesting that there was no PP photographer for the Mary Poppins meet but there was one for the Rivers of America sign. Seems like Disney didn't think that through all the way.

Looking forward to hearing how the phone call concerning the CBR manager went...

100% people don’t know she is there. When we were just there and I was looping with Maren sleeping the attendant was chatting with me and he said not many people know she is there or they have trouble finding the meet.

I don’t like that she doesn’t get photopass!

Oh maybe my redemption for your poor experience is coming in an update soon.

All caught up!

Can't believe the attitude of that manager. Can't wait to hear about if you got a response from somebody higher up.

Love your pink ears, are they the Imagination Pink ones? They look very similar to my Cherry Blossom ears from Tokyo Disney.

Hope your brother has a speedy recovery . Looks like some great character meets. Looking forward to the next chapter and the manager situation.

So sorry about your brother's spontaneous pneumo! I am sure you knew what was going on as soon as you heard his symptoms! I hope he heals quickly!
Where is this Gazebo? Is it hidden somewhere? I would LOVE to meet Bert, and practically perfect in every way Mary Poppins! :flower1:

Super cute! I'm going to have to look for them!

That sounds good. I'm always looking for more savory snacks…besides my beloved Babybel cheese!

Those pictures are adorable and I somehow didn't know about this meet and greet either :confused3

Up next: talking to the CBR general manager,

Wow, I guess that WDWtoday complaint worked. I can't wait to hear how it turned out,

Wow... sorry to hear about this, but glad that he's doing well. Scary stuff!
I quickly glanced over and saw that not only was Mary Poppins meeting in the gazebo, but Bert was with her! The best part was, there was no line at all.
We've had good luck stumbling across her coming out there too. Certainly off the beaten path!

Something about food on a stick that just always makes it better.
Peter was hysterical and I'm so glad we did this meet and greet!
We've still not managed to meet him, but I've heard nothing but good things about him!
Our first Haunted Mansion ride photo! Clearly one of us knew where the photo was and one didn't.:rotfl:
:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: Still a good picture of both of you though. Could have been somebody looking completely off to the side or something like most of the pictures you see from this attraction.
And one of my favorites from the trip:
:thumbsup2 Got the one you were looking for earlier!
And with that, we finally left the Magic Kingdom to start our monorail bar crawl
:drinking1 YES!
as my phone rang!
Uh oh… hope that doesn't ruin the fun. Hopefully something positive!

Keeping your brother in my thoughts!!

Great pics with Mary & Bert and with Peter!

Great PP pics! I didn't know they had a Peter magic shot now! Very cool!

OoO interested in hearing how the call with the manager went!

I thought it was interesting that there was no PP photographer for the Mary Poppins meet but there was one for the Rivers of America sign. Seems like Disney didn't think that through all the way.

Supposedly due to the right Disney has to Mary Poppins she can't have photopass with her. I don't remember who told me this and I've never looked it up but I've never seen a PP with her.

No idea really why there was one with the Rivers of America sign though. :confused3

Oh maybe my redemption for your poor experience is coming in an update soon.

I'm 100% ok with people not realizing she's back there lol. She's not a "must-do" character for me, but it's always nice to get in a character meet without a huge line!

I don't like that she doesn't get photopass either!

Can't believe the attitude of that manager. Can't wait to hear about if you got a response from somebody higher up.

I couldn't believe it either! Thankfully the phone call with the GM was actually very productive.

Love your pink ears, are they the Imagination Pink ones? They look very similar to my Cherry Blossom ears from Tokyo Disney.

Thank you! They are the cherry blossom ears from Tokyo Disney! So many people stop me in the parks and ask where they can get them lol

Hope your brother has a speedy recovery . Looks like some great character meets. Looking forward to the next chapter and the manager situation.

Thank you! 🥰 He's home now and doing well thankfully! It was a great day full of characters!

So sorry about your brother's spontaneous pneumo! I am sure you knew what was going on as soon as you heard his symptoms! I hope he heals quickly!

Thank you! 🥰 It was my suspicion immediately but I was really hoping to be wrong. He's home and doing well thank goodness!

Where is this Gazebo? Is it hidden somewhere? I would LOVE to meet Bert, and practically perfect in every way Mary Poppins! :flower1:

It's behind the Christmas shop in Liberty Square so it's pretty out of the way! We've met Mary there a few times but this was the first time we saw Bert with her!

I hope your brother is doing better! What a scary situation!

Those are two meets that I don't see very often on the boards! It's a shame that Mary Poppins doesn't have a Photopass photographer (?!), but Mike did a good job with the photos. Your meet with Peter Pan looked like great fun!

I love your Haunted Mansion ride photo! I swear the line at Haunted Mansion is always crazy now due to FP+.

I look forward to hearing about your conversation with the CBR GM!

Wow, that's so scary! I hope he's okay!

Thank you! 🥰 It was so scary but thankfully he's home and doing well!

Super cute! I'm going to have to look for them!

Definitely! We've met Mary there a few times and there's never much of a line!

That sounds good. I'm always looking for more savory snacks…besides my beloved Babybel cheese!

It's so good- I highly recommend! As much as I love sweet snacks, they can make me nauseous when it's really hot so it's nice to have savory options. I do love Babybel cheese yum!

Those pictures are adorable and I somehow didn't know about this meet and greet either :confused3

Thank you! I think he only meets a few times a day and the line was crazy long when we were leaving the area!

Wow, I guess that WDWtoday complaint worked. I can't wait to hear how it turned out,

It definitely did!
