A Salute to all things Disney, but mostly Magic Bars; a July 4th 2019 TR*update 11/28 new TR link!

BUT - and I know I'll get flack - we weren't "wowed". We understand it could totally be since we weren't in the park but we didn't think they were better than HEA (and we aren't fans of HEA) and the next night as you'll see we watched Illuminations with the holiday tag and thought it was 1000x better! But now I can say I've seen the MK 4th of July fireworks 🎆
We were in the park the next night and I will agree with you. Not wowed. I was actually more wowed watching it live from my house the year before. But, like you, we do get to say that we saw them in person! I love HEA and can't wait to see that again! If I can get Narcossee's or Cali Grill in October on a Sat night, I can. Otherwise, it'll be Thanksgiving.
Narcoossee’s Candy Bar
Dark Chocolate-Mocha Bar with House-made Guanaja Chocolate Gelato
OMG that looks so good.
Wow you are on your TR game! I am awful and never update mine :scared:
I have you beat. I haven't finished my March TR, and never started one for May, June or July!

We are planning on going over the 4th next year, so it’s a nice little preview.
Hey! Chad says he really wants us to renew our passes and go again for the 4th, so we may very well see you!
it's just so hard to fit in ALL the places we want to eat on a trip! I find that's a harder thing for me now lol is eating all the things I want rather than getting on all the rides I want  Just shows you how high on my list food is!!!
I can so relate to this post! I am more sad about missing my reservations at Teppan Edo, Toledo, Boathouse, and Kona over Labor Day than I am about the rides!
Until our EPIC trip that's what happened with Renee @ArielSRL too but luckily this year our trips coincided TWICE!
And I am so glad we did. I really hope we get another meet up soon because I miss you lady!
Can anyone guess who did NOT come? I'll give you a hint:
:rotfl2:
We RD'd TT and unlike other parks didn't have to do a cattle call-run
We RD Epcot in May and thought the same. We went to Soarin and it was very peaceful. We actually would've been first on the ride if we had not waited for row B1, and we didn't run or anything.
And with that we completed a successful holiday EMH!
Wahoo! I can totally understand why you did it but recently we have trended away from EMH.
we were all fairly impressed!
We really enjoy it though we don't get over there that often.

Evening all! Two weeks and 1 day until our Food and Wine/Grand Floridian trip :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see you again! :) Maybe a Bloody Mary at Refreshment Port??

We RD'd TT and unlike other parks didn't have to do a cattle call-run; it was a nice quick walk with nobody stepping on our feet or knocking over small children a la 7DMT or SDD

Amen, Sista!

Oh silly me, that was to keep MY character happy :drinking1

LOL! :lmao:
The best Disney Bloody Mary I've had so far is at Refreshment Outpost in Epcot

followed by one in AK

Mine ranking is opposite. I LOVED the Dawa Mary I had last time and put it above the R.P one. HOWEVER, the goodies on the RP one are by far more outstanding. I'll have to get one of each and compare again... Then again, I need to get one at Cali Brunch.... for quality assurance and comparison purposes, mind you.

I finally had a chance to catch up with your July trip report. The final two weeks before my last day of work on August 22nd was super high stress. I had to train my replacement and I had about 100 things to teach him and never got it all done. Oh well, trial by fire is a good way to learn. ;) We got back from Disney on Saturday so this is what I consider my first real day of retirement. And here I am on the Dis. :)

I love your view from your room at the CR. I agree with you on the pool, it looks boring. The resort itself does not appeal to us at all, but I wouldn't turn down a free upgrade if it came along. ;)

Speaking of July, we were on our way to our arrival night dinner at Narcoosee's. I booked this tonight for 2 reasons; one, we all love it especially Chris and two, being July 3rd we'd be able to watch the holiday MK fireworks from there. It was an easy monorail ride to the GF and we were sat right away with the bread arriving soon after.
When we took our 4th of July trip we stayed at the Beach Club and took a taxi to Citricos on July 3rd. We watched the fireworks from outside of Gasparillas and it was a fun party atmosphere there. Then we hopped a taxi back to BC and beat the crowd out of MK. It worked out great and I would do it that way again. :) It was a great fireworks view there.

Caesar Salad
Leaves of Crisp Romaine dressed with Traditional Caesar Dressing and topped with crisp Pancetta, Grated House-cured Yolks, and Fried Capers
The first time we ate here we had the best romaine salad ever in our lives. We wanted to return here just for the salad, it was that good. ::yes::
I think it's 2nd to Citricos but it's a super close 2nd and by no means does 2nd mean bad in any way.
Dana had the steak and it was delicious but I agree that Citricos might be better. I have trouble finding something I like on Narcoosee's menu, so the second time we ate here I just had two appetizers.
the next night as you'll see we watched Illuminations with the holiday tag and thought it was 1000x better!
We liked Illuminations on the 4th of July better than MK's fireworks. There was something about being ground level and having all those fireworks exploding in your face that made it cool. Plus we could walk back to the BC from there.
Almond-crusted Cheesecake
with Lambert Cherry Sauce
This was to die for. There are a lot of recommendations for favorite foods that I don't care for, like Dole Whips, but this dessert is definitely worth the hype. ::yes::
I decided to try for one myself as I can't remember the last time I met Daisy:
I love your 4th of July shirt. We didn't realize that everyone wears a 4th of July themed shirt at the BC and we were totally out of step with the crowd. Next time we will be prepared. :)

Yeah it's going to be fun getting this kid up for school again next week after a summer of sleeping until 1 in the afternoon.
I am so not looking forward to waking up my youngest this week. Late nights and late mornings were the thing to do this summer. She'll be like a zombie all week I expect.

Interestingly enough as we walked out of TT Chris texted that he was walking to the monorail to meet us WHAT???? Was it my birthday??? He also requested riding Soarin'. I asked Ricky if he wanted to ride it now and again with is brother and my un-birthday surprise #2 came next when he said that he would ride FEA with me if I wanted him to WHA-HAT??????
Holy carp! Two big surprises!

And I pointed out the test tube not so Hidden Mickey to the boys:
Cool! I had never noticed this one before. Do you know if it's been there a while?

And finally the big guy himself
I have to admit Goofy looks pretty good in his beach outfit! I think I would totally wear that.

We got back around 12:30 and our room had not only been cleaned but we had a towel.......flower
I don't think I've ever seem a towel flower before. I thought all those towel animals were a thing of the past.

We were at Great Adventure a few weeks ago and a kid in front of us in the safari line kept telling his friends how much better this was than Disney and we were like :crazy2: 🤦‍♀️ the whole time!
So funny because any time we're at any other park - a 6 Flags, Hershey - we always compare and say this is NOT DISNEY!!!
Only you!!!
::yes:: That's exactly what the boys said
This causes anxiety in my nether regions like nobodies business.
Didn't something else I wrote about once cause anxiety there for you :rotfl2:Because I know I've heard you talk about being scared "down there" before!!!!
You sure these are the Devizio boys? There are Disney shirts and smiles in this photo so it couldn't be :P
I believe we had entered "The Twilight Zone" But it's ok, my real boys were brought back soon enough
s it wrong or oh so right that I see why you all order at this point and I know who got exactly what????
LOL no I love that 💛
Sadly I'm gonna join the masses on this one after our latest visit. It wasn't all bad, but certainly not what we are used to
Oh crap (and speaking of do you know they've removed our beloved crap emoji here on the DIS?) I hate hearing that! I guess we're the ones that get the "it happens sometimes" service there :sad1:
It is a Christmas (in July) Miracle!
:santa: 🇨🇽🎄🤶🎅 just using your comment as an excuse to use all the new emoji's I love :thumbsup2
Wait, so is there crepes? (We cancelled our reservation when we got upgraded to CL this past trip.)
Yes! Only Steve had one but he enjoyed it; I stuck to the blueberry pancakes and lots of other carbs lol
Okay so I am here but late..
But I'm just so glad you're here Renee! @ArielSRL
I'm excited to follow along! As you know, I was there! Hahaha. Maybe I'll make an appearance! :)
Oh you will don't worry, and those adorable boys of yours too!
Chad and I have a ADR for Citricos with friends, on our adults only trip. However...I'd rather do Narcossee's or Cali Grill. Not necessarily from experience but just from things I have heard. We'll be happy ether way, though, I'm sure.
Well I think Citricos is pretty much perfect as I think you know so I wouldn't change it - and ask if you can sit in Rony's section if you go! But otherwise either of the others would be great too. If you like the menu at Citricos I say keep it for sure.
We were in the park the next night and I will agree with you. Not wowed. I was actually more wowed watching it live from my house the year before.
I also enjoyed it more when I watch from home
I can so relate to this post! I am more sad about missing my reservations at Teppan Edo, Toledo, Boathouse, and Kona over Labor Day than I am about the rides!
I know, Steve just brought up wanting to eat at Jiko tonight so I added it for this month but I don't know how I'll eat any big meals on days we do F&W which is like every day!
And I am so glad we did. I really hope we get another meet up soon because I miss you lady!
Miss you too 😘 We SO enjoyed hanging with you and Chad and the boys so I do hope it happens again sooner or later!
Wahoo! I can totally understand why you did it but recently we have trended away from EMH.
It's not something we've done often the last few years except for an occasional one at MK (which I don't get much out of since Frontierland isn't open) and HS but it fit well to get some Epcot time into this trip. I'd probably do it again there if we wanted to hit all 3 headliners and didn't have another time to do it! I would think EMH at AK would be good too although I haven't done it.
:thumbsup2
Can't wait to see you again! :) Maybe a Bloody Mary at Refreshment Port??
You don't have to suggest that twice :drinking1Looking forward to seeing you too!!
I wish I'd gotten one at brunch in May but sadly I stuck with the complimentary drinks - which were good! I've tried a few other Bloody Mary's lately around the World but none stand up to these 2 and one I had at the Wave was absolutely

Hi Sue! And welcome back! And congrats on the retirement :sunny: Definitely a busy few weeks for you! I always hated training people in general so I can understand that's frustrating. But I'm so glad you enjoyed your latest trip, and the lodge, and I hope you have lots of relaxing plans for your retirement!
When we took our 4th of July trip we stayed at the Beach Club and took a taxi to Citricos on July 3rd. We watched the fireworks from outside of Gasparillas and it was a fun party atmosphere there. This sounds perfect
We liked Illuminations on the 4th of July better than MK's fireworks. There was something about being ground level and having all those fireworks exploding in your face that made it cool. Plus we could walk back to the BC from there.
I think that's it and I loved the music too. I hope they continue something similar for the 4th with the new show at Epcot
This was to die for. There are a lot of recommendations for favorite foods that I don't care for, like Dole Whips, but this dessert is definitely worth the hype. ::yes::
I don't think I could ever eat there and not order that! I'm the same with some other very popular snacks, Dole Whip being one as I'm not a fan. Same with the churros and zebra domes.
Cool! I had never noticed this one before. Do you know if it's been there a while?
I know I've seen it before but I don't know if it's always there?? I'll have to look next weekend :goodvibes
I have to admit Goofy looks pretty good in his beach outfit! I think I would totally wear that.
🤣 You could go there and match him. I'm sure your girls would LOVE that!
I don't think I've ever seem a towel flower before. I thought all those towel animals were a thing of the past.
In general I believe they are but from what I've heard there are some housekeepers that have been around a long time so they still know how to make towel animals (and apparently flowers) so they'll do them sometimes :)

But I'm just so glad you're here Renee! @ArielSRL
Oh you will don't worry, and those adorable boys of yours too!
:yay:
Well I think Citricos is pretty much perfect as I think you know so I wouldn't change it - and ask if you can sit in Rony's section if you go! But otherwise either of the others would be great too. If you like the menu at Citricos I say keep it for sure.
Hmmm...we may should keep it then....
I know, Steve just brought up wanting to eat at Jiko tonight so I added it for this month but I don't know how I'll eat any big meals on days we do F&W which is like every day!
We had booked the Illuminations....I mean Epcot Forever Biergarten package for our F&W day, which is a full day btw, for October, and we decided to cancel it. o ADRs that day!
Miss you too 😘 We SO enjoyed hanging with you and Chad and the boys so I do hope it happens again sooner or later!
Fingers crossed its sooner!

I definitely agree it can be situationally advantageous.

Happy back to school for everyone that wasn't back already! Tomorrow mine return and Chris is thrilled that he gets to start waking up at 6am instead of the noon rising he's been used to the last 2 months lol.

We did a few fun things over Labor Day weekend; had all the boys and grandkids over and did some shopping. Something else I did was find a photo album in Steve's car that he brought from his mom's apartment in July after she passed and had forgotten it was in there. Ended up being a scrapbook of sorts that I'd made her after she came to Florida with us in 2007. It was a.................special and memorable trip with my MIL :scared: but now as I think back to it, we had some good times. I'll post a few of these when my computer decides to cooperate and let me download some more pictures............

Now let's continue the 4th of July!!!

We had gone back to the WL after a morning of Epcot and breakfast to relax a bit before going to our next park of the day, MK. My plan when we first decided to go for the 4th was to absolutely be in MK for the 4th and to absolutely watch the fireworks from there ON the 4th. Then I made that Narcoossee's reservation in case we ended up feeling too crowded at the MK on the 4th so we were going to see how we felt come fireworks time that night. We also had fastpasses beginning at 4ish to use.

First up a little BTMMR for you all:

IMG_2518.JPG

IMG_2523 (2).JPG

Non centered picture because I needed to crop my arm out! It looked like it was about 130 lbs. bigger than the rest of me - oh crap I hope it doesn't really look like that!

Our next FP was for Splash and then we had one for 7DMT; however right after we rode Big Thunder all outside rides shut down due to lightning in the area 😡 You all know what happens when all outside rides are shut down?

1. Your outside ride FP's turn to anytime ones - not too bad
2. The FP lines for all open rides get to be like 2000 people deep because everyone is using their anytime FPs for them
3. This is a PITA and sucks

We debated what to do; use one of the anytimes and hope the other rides open soon? Use them both? Eat????

Eat ::yes::

We had a 6:30 ADR at Skippers and when all rain and lightning broke loose we went to see if we could get in 2 hours early lol!! That was a hard no as people without reservations were now making them. Instead we got on a 12 mile long fastpass line for the HM, saving our 7Dwarfs anytime for later on hopefully. When we came out we were shocked by another 12 mile long line of people waiting to get in to CCH and since nothing had opened and Steve's app showed rains continuing forever we made an executive decision to forego our Skipper's dinner in favor of a quick CCH mobile order so we could bypass the line and be dry and doing something!

Food was great and after our meals I got a specialty dessert they were serving:

IMG_2531.JPG

Whoopie pies! The Mickey one is chocolate and Minnie was red velvet; my fave. Both were delicious with super sweet vanilla frosting.cream inside. I ate these while waiting for Renee @ArielSRL who was also in the park to stop by and say hello! We'd met during our EPIC trip in May but we'd be meeting each others' boys for the first time. No pics yet but they'll come; we said a quick hello and left to see what was up outside.

NOTHING was up outside as all rides were still closed. There was only a drizzle of rain but I guess lightning was still hanging around. We all agree to do the HoP as Chris had never done it and Ricky didn't really remember it. When Steve and I did it earlier this year I took pictures of some First Lady Girl Scout stuff for my mom - she worked for the local GS chapter for about 25 years. This time I found FDR's things interesting because they are there on loan from his Library and Museum right here by us in NY!

IMG_2532.JPG

IMG_2533.JPG

Hyde Park is about 15 minutes north of me and we've been to his library/museum TONS of times. It's like one of those local field trip places all the schools go to but we've also taken the kids ourselves and I went tons of times as a kid. Probably not interesting to you but I get all stupid when I see or hear any reference to where I live or near it- like when Minnie say's "Where are we, Poughkeepsie?" in "Get a Horse" over at the Pixar Shorts in Epcot lol.

Eventually we were able to use our 7DMT FP but those rides were closed for HOURS which is just a downfall of going during the rainy season. It was about 8:00 when we got off and some of us were fading; Ricky decided to head back to the room. Chris had a friend in Florida off-site who was on his way to the MK for the fireworks and he wanted Chris to wait and watch with him. However Steve and I made a last minute decision to run to Epcot to see Illuminations there so we weren't hanging around. On a normal day we would have been fine letting him stay and then go back to the CR on his own but the crowds had seriously rolled in and between that and the fact that we didn't know this friend we just weren't comfortable with that. I felt kind of bad but he wasn't upset, I think he was tired too!

Steve and I walked with them to the exit and then jumped on the monorail to Epcot. We walked in to WS 10 minutes before Illuminations started so we figured what the heck and jumped in line for a beverage at the little stand in the U.K. Two people in front of us turned in to almost a 15 minute wait as their register wasn't working :headache: Eventually we got our drinks, missed the first few minutes but found a really good spot for getting there so late! And now I give you the best of my crappy Illuminations shots; most are of the holiday tag at the end:

IMG_2551.JPG

I actually like this one below:

IMG_2553.JPG

Skip the continuation if you're tired of mediocre fireworks pics!

Oh wow, you stayed! Here's your prize:

IMG_2556.JPG

Another one I really like below with all the colors:

IMG_2557.JPG

IMG_2558.JPG

And there you have it! The finale was just unbelievably beautiful so I stopped taking pictures and just watched. I don't think my HEA from Narcoossee's pictures nor these do either show justice but the holiday tag here was truly amazing. We were so thrilled we decided not to watch HEA again! I hope they do a 4th holiday tag for the new Epcot show too.

We wanted to walk slowly around WS back to the monorail and as we did we noticed more cool things going on over in the lagoon:

IMG_2567 (1).JPG

IMG_2571 (1).JPG

IMG_2569 (1).JPG

It actually said "celebrating the birthday of America" but I figured I didn't need to post "the" and of"!

:cake:
IMG_2574 (1).JPG

So nice! Again we were just so happy this is how we spent the night and I wish the boys had come because they do like fireworks and this would have impressed them more than the HEA holiday show.

Getting back to the CR was a bit of a feat; the line for the monorail was aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallll the way to the tapstiles to get in and Steve looked at me like I was out of my mind if I thought he was getting in it - not that I wanted to. I then had the great idea of taking a bus to the WL and boating back because surely that would be quicker?? And maybe I could pick up a certain treat there that I may or may not enjoy :cake: (note to DISBoards; you need a magic bar emoji) Well. About 45 minutes after we got in the bus line we got on the 3rd bus to show up; needless to say I still had an unhappy DH. We would have done a Lyft but you get those in a parking lot not by the buses, there was a line like 30 people deep waiting for Minnie Vans near us and we figured a Lyft would take awhile too. Even worse is that by the time we got to the WL at 11:25 they were out of my Magic Bars!!! Our wonderful evening was over 😢 Except just walking in to the lobby of my lodge put a smile on my face and the boat ride back was so peaceful it returned the night to it's former glory lol. We ended up grabbing something from Contempo Cafe with the kids and called it a night.

I loved being there for the 4th and found the crowd at MK totally doable even an hour before fireworks if you stayed away from the HUB and I'm anxious now to go back again for the 4th 🎆

Non centered picture because I needed to crop my arm out! It looked like it was about 130 lbs. bigger than the rest of me - oh crap I hope it doesn't really look like that!

I am quite familiar with the arm crop. Sometimes the camera is just mean - and totally wrong! :P

Our next FP was for Splash and then we had one for 7DMT; however right after we rode Big Thunder all outside rides shut down due to lightning in the area 😡 You all know what happens when all outside rides are shut down?

1. Your outside ride FP's turn to anytime ones - not too bad

3. This is a PITA and sucks

Ugh, we ran into this too and it's terrible. But, of course, a price we pay for going in summer.

I get the same way when I hear references to Dallas and I tend to give a head nod to other guests I see wearing Dallas Cowboys gear. I probably look like a crazy person, but I can't help myself. Our other claim to fame here is Kennedy being killed, so you work with what you've got.

Another one I really like below with all the colors:

I think you sold your fireworks pictures short.

And there you have it! The finale was just unbelievably beautiful so I stopped taking pictures and just watched. I'm so excited to see the holiday shows next year now!

It actually said "celebrating the birthday of America" but I figured I didn't need to post "the" and of"!

:cake:

I like "Celebrating America Birthday" and think they should keep it that way. It's like a tribute from the cavemen inside the ride.

I loved being there for the 4th and found the crowd at MK totally doable even an hour before fireworks if you stayed away from the HUB and I'm anxious now to go back again for the 4th 🎆

So you should come next year!

The long monorail line at park close in Epcot is annoying. When we stayed at the GF
we walked to BC to take a taxi back the resort rather than wait in the long line. In hindsight, it would have taken less time to just wait in line. ;)

So funny because any time we're at any other park - a 6 Flags, Hershey - we always compare and say this is NOT DISNEY!!!

So do we :rotfl: :rotfl:

Ended up being a scrapbook of sorts that I'd made her after she came to Florida with us in 2007.

Aw that's a nice memory to have.

2. The FP lines for all open rides get to be like 2000 people deep because everyone is using their anytime FPs for them
3. This is a PITA and sucks

This is one of the most accurate things I've ever read.

IMG_2531.JPG

Aw these are so cute!

It actually said "celebrating the birthday of America" but I figured I didn't need to post "the" and of"!

I love that.

I loved being there for the 4th and found the crowd at MK totally doable even an hour before fireworks if you stayed away from the HUB and I'm anxious now to go back again for the 4th 🎆

I always said I would never go to WDW for the 4th but your report is making me reconsider!

The whoppie pies looks yummy! It sounds like moving over to Epcot was the right decision!

We found MK oppressive this trip, so crowded, so much scrim and construction, and hot!! I get the impression MK is the only park some people visit, way more busy then the other parks!

Whoopie pies!

Those look so good! I'd especially love to the red velvet one, too!

NOTHING was up outside as all rides were still closed.

It's so frustrating when weather gets in the way! The anytime Fastpasses are nice but unhelpful if all the rides are crazy as a result of the weather.

Well. About 45 minutes after we got in the bus line we got on the 3rd bus to show up; needless to say I still had an unhappy DH.

Yikes! Transportation issues are the WORST. I hate when I try to make the best call and end up being totally wrong.

I'm glad you finally got home - but without a Magic Bar! What a letdown after all the stress of the day.

Chris is thrilled that he gets to start waking up at 6am instead of the noon rising he's been used to the last 2 months lol.
I'm sure he is!
My plan when we first decided to go for the 4th was to absolutely be in MK for the 4th and to absolutely watch the fireworks from there ON the 4th.
Absolutely.
Non centered picture because I needed to crop my arm out! It looked like it was about 130 lbs. bigger than the rest of me - oh crap I hope it doesn't really look like that!
Well, we've never met. But if we do, I'll be sure to watch out for the woman with giant arm.
Our next FP was for Splash and then we had one for 7DMT; however right after we rode Big Thunder all outside rides shut down due to lightning in the area 😡 You all know what happens when all outside rides are shut down?

:sad2:
We debated what to do; use one of the anytimes and hope the other rides open soon? Use them both? Eat????

Eat ::yes::
Yummy treats trumps all!
Whoopie pies!
I've never had a whoopie pie. I've never seen a whoopie pie.
We all agree to do the HoP
I actually like that. I don't see it very often (maybe 2 times?), but it's quite well done, I thought.
This time I found FDR's things interesting because they are there on loan from his Library and Museum right here by us in NY!
Cool!
Chris had a friend in Florida off-site who was on his way to the MK for the fireworks and he wanted Chris to wait and watch with him. On a normal day we would have been fine letting him stay and then go back to the CR on his own but the crowds had seriously rolled in and between that and the fact that we didn't know this friend we just weren't comfortable with that. I felt kind of bad but he wasn't upset, I think he was tired too!
Too bad about not being able to meet up, but... yeah... in that mob? Maybe not the best timing.
jumped in line for a beverage at the little stand in the U.K. Two people in front of us turned in to almost a 15 minute wait as their register wasn't working
:headache:
I actually like this one below:
Me too!
Oh wow, you stayed! Here's your prize:

Man those are really good with the leaves in the foreground. :thumbsup2
Another one I really like below with all the colors:
::yes::
Nice little (big?) touch.
(note to DISBoards; you need a magic bar emoji)
(note to DISBoards; no you don't. magic bars have coconut in them. 🤮 )
Even worse is that by the time we got to the WL at 11:25 they were out of my Magic Bars!!!
Well... while I will never eat one, I'm sorry you missed out on a treat that you were so looking forward to.

I think it is safe to say we won't be going to Disney on the 4th of July!
 Really though it wasn't bad at all! No more crowded than when we were there last month other than the 4th and even Epcot that morning was fine. I mean it's nowhere near Thanksgiving and it was less crowded than this years' MLK and Presidents weekends so I would definitely do it again! I also think it was a bit less humid in July than August so that's a plus too
I am quite familiar with the arm crop. Sometimes the camera is just mean - and totally wrong! :P
OMG when I saw the picture (the original one) I was like "what the &@@^ is THAT" I was near horrified and almost wanted to spend 24 hours straight lifting weights. That desire passed when I realized I could crop it and just be sure to always wear sleeves :rotfl2:
Ugh, we ran into this too and it's terrible. But, of course, a price we pay for going in summer.
We've never had a particularly rainy August trip so this was by far the most we'd seen other than one particularly wet October visit. The lightning thing is worse than the rain because you can at least use an app to see when the rain will begin/end and plan accordingly but that lightning being within a certain # of miles closing rides is the killer
I get the same way when I hear references to Dallas and I tend to give a head nod to other guests I see wearing Dallas Cowboys gear. I probably look like a crazy person, but I can't help myself. Our other claim to fame here is Kennedy being killed, so you work with what you've got.
True! We have a few big colleges - Marist, Vassar- and since we're so close to NYC they say our towns and county name in TV shows a lot. There was even a reference to the town next to my mom in Dirty Dancing (New Paltz). Then we also had a serial killer a few years back so like you said..........you work with what you've got :poop:
So you should come next year!

Well if you insist!
The long monorail line at park close in Epcot is annoying. When we stayed at the GF
we walked to BC to take a taxi back the resort rather than wait in the long line. In hindsight, it would have taken less time to just wait in line. ;)
I'm sure it would[ve been quicker if we waited in the line also but looking at it we just couldn't make ourselves do it lol
I always said I would never go to WDW for the 4th but your report is making me reconsider!
I used to think that way but seriously there was nothing bad about it! I think the 4th was the "worst" and just in MK; as I said above the crowds were no worse than when we went mid August last month and way better than not only Thanksgiving but this years' Presidents weekend and MLK weekend too!
