I meant for the thermostat.

Oh, so sorry! People here are sometimes giving such weird tips sometimes…

Agreed, the light from the thermostat can be frustrating. DW and I are both very light sleepers, she is triggered by light while I am by sound. She had to use an eye mask, partly because of the thermostat, but also because, like in all Disney hotels, it's sometimes difficult to achieve perfect “night” with the curtains (and you find out in the morning when you awake with the sun).

While we're giving tips, if you're sensitive to sound, I would also suggest you take some ear plugs with you, depending on the location on your room. Soundproofing on the walls is very good, we barely heard the elevators or our neighbours, but our room was “fireworks view” just above the bus stops, and the “beep beep beep” were enough to awake me.

We had a connecting room in the tower and I can tell you that we had three different parties staying in the room next to us in the week we were there even though I never saw them. The first party had a great long, loud conversation on speaker phone about insurance, the second party liked to shower when they got in from the parks which meant a drip-drip-drip-drip sound for 45 min at 12:30pm 3 nights in a row, and the third party and I had a conversation through the door after I heard them say they were about to be late to their dinner reservation and they were making an insane racket late at night. So...if you are in a connecting tower room, take ear plugs!! (Not trying to complain, just inform. We had a great trip!!)

Forgot about the connecting door. Yes, they are noisy as always! We were lucky enough to hear some noise only for a few nights but you never know…

just returned back home today from four nights in the tower. standard room. floor 7. had some good things and small quirks to complain about. it was beautiful, clean, new, loved a walkin shower, modern. I had a problem one morning, was the only one awake early around sixish. i heard an alarm from far away and chose to ignore it. my anxious ds woke up and asked me to check it out. i did. there was an emergency alarm yelling fire in the stairwell. i called front desk which apparently isn't front desk of coronado. she said we've been informing everyone to leave their rooms to evacuate. i said well no one is here on my floor, no one knocked, and no alarms are going off in my room. my son was freaking out and ran out with me in his pj's thru seven floors at six thirty a.m. ish all flights on the staircase. some other floors were joining. but the alarm was only in the stairwell. no one knew what was going on in the bldg. and there was literally no one in charge in teh stairwell or on my floor. my dh and other ds stayed behind. i went outside and some people working said no idea what was going on. some people evacuated. maybe like 50-100. approx. Then they all jsut went inside for some reason so we did too. Zero follow up. zero communication. woke my family up. no clue what happened. so i complained and explained to the man what occurred and how bad their communication was. and he gave me $100 back on the night and 3 fp's. Stupid because that wasn't my point. Another morning before 9 a.m. someone was drilling and it was piercing noise of drilling in the room and woke again my ds up. There was a blinking light that others said annoyed them. The bathroom was great but others commented about the design with privacy and yes I had the same issue. Probably could have used two rooms because of that reason. No division or privacy between toilet and shower so let's say there were lines for the bathroom in my room! I wasnt' a fan of the bus going forever around the whole hotel seemed like forever with each stop, just not used to that because I usually stay at hotels on property that aren't as large. Smart they put a roof over the walkway to the me bus in case of rain. Friendly staff. Also side observation: on day one there were grapes on the floor of my seventh floor by the elevator. I kicked the grapes to the corner of the carpet away from the entry of the elevator. the grapes were there the last day of my stay. I never saw anyone on my floor vacuuming, nothing. It was like a dead zone! The beds were a bit too high for me, i am only 5'1 I had to jump up. That's it i guess? .....

i requested a no connecting door and got one. which was great. it was quiet otherwise. i did hear toilets flushing from somewhere idk where. of course. it's a hotel.

Just returned from a week in the Casitas section...great trip, loved our stay. Besides what others have said about the Thermostat Lights, the only thing I found odd was there was no table in the room. A long counter and an extra chair, but no where to sit and eat. Our little one doesn't like the restaurants and always asked to eat in our room, so we would get the meals to go and end up eating on the bed as there was no table...minor I know, but still kinda odd :)

Just got back from the Club Level (15th Floor) and gotta say it was the best experience my family has had at a Disney hotel. Everything from the cast members to the rooms to the building itself was great. The only down side was that the busses were shaky at best. Being the last stop on the way out, it was tough to get a seat and being last on the way back took extra long. Used Lyft a lot (way cheaper than a Minnie Van) on some later nights but other than that it was almost perfect for us.

Can't wait to get back there!!

Thanks to all of you who gave feedback on the new towers (I am also a light sensitive sleeper ;-)) and the "regular" Coronado rooms. All the reports and photos are a great source of information.
Can anyone report back when the busses for EEMH start running? I am coming over from Germany on Saturday and plan to make the most out of my jet lag :teeth: Thanks in advance:flower2:

Thanks for sharing this, we've been on the 15th floor and we haven't been evacuated. Wouldn't have known if you hadn't posted about it.

60 days and counting until our stay! We stayed here about 5 years ago and loved the resort. Can't wait to stay here again. Bringing our niece (she's 24!) for her first WDW stay and can't wait to introduce her to our happy place! Fast passes booked, MNSSHP tickets purchased. All that's left is room request. We stayed in Casitas last time and am hoping to be placed there again. Thinking about dinner at at Three Bridges. Any opinions about eating there?

I hope to visit prior to your trip and will be glad to let you know. I have not been to Coronado since my children were quite small. Both almost 30 now. So a long time ago. I have a question as well for Coronado Springs Resort frequent flyers. The only room type still available was a water view/king for a last minute trip. Pricey, but that's how it goes. I am wondering, since paying a premium, what area should I request to have a greater probability of getting a natural water view and not a pool? Nothing against any pool, but if paying the higher price would prefer the "natural" landscape. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. I am pretty excited and a bit nervous. I have never spent this much money on hotel room in my life...lol...

Three bridges was not our favorite in terms of food, but we enjoyed the atmosphere and had a nice evening! We had an appetizer of the cheese dip which was different than I expected. Not bad, just different. For entrees, I had the burger and I should have asked for no aioli which was overpowering. The crispy potato topping was not crispy at all. In fact, the entire burger was soggy and I deconstructed it in order to eat (I managed about half). My husband had the crispy chicken sliders and he was not overwhelmed. Son had the kids steak and he loved it. For dessert, we had the churros, which are not normal Disney churros, but good. So overall, we left thinking we wouldn't go back. The atmosphere was great though!!

Thanks! I think I'll make a res at Rix's or Toledo then. Save Three Bridges for an adult beverage. Once I looked at the menu again, I think we may need more variety of choices.

We left at 4:10am Sat morning and on our way out of the resort, passed two Hollywood Studio buses. So those are starting early!

We booked two reservations and need to decide which one to cancel.

The first room was "Preferred King" in the regular part of Corondo, the second room is "Standard View King Tower".

Would you pick room 1, or 2 and why?

I was kind of leaning toward Tower King Standard View just because it is new but worried about how long the walk might be to the nearest pool.

Live from CSR!

Today the resort has been hosting Disney and Marvel movies with free popcorn in the Convention Center ballrooms since 3pm (most parks closed by then). So far Minnie, Goofy and Donald have made appearances. Maya Grill, Three Bridges and Laguna Bar are closed but El Mercado, Cafe Rix, Rix Sports and Barcelona Lounge are open (I believe Toledo is as well but haven’t been up to confirm). El Mercado was still serving hot food as of 8pm, but $10 premade box lunches were available for those that did not want to wait. El Mercado, Cafe Rix & Rix Sports are closing at 10pm tonight.

Thanks for the update! Looks like a lovely place to stay during this unfortunate event.
