Official 2019 HHN-29 Thread

All of those restaurants are open? How bad do the lines get? We're thinking of just eating in Springfield.

Places do get busy. This was when it got a little quieter in Louie`s later in the evening.....we waited almost thirty minutes for a slice of pizza.

Last year we didn't even to get into Finnegans for a drink as it was mobbed beyond belief. The line for a drink snaked up and down behind the bar......just to get to the bar!!

The food stalls aren't too bad as there are a few of them....you`ll still wait in line though.

Do the S+S areas open at 4pm? My plan is to stay in the area by Finnegans, do Ghostbusters straight away as I wont have EP, then after that probably Killer Klowns followed by Classic Monsters.

The rest of the houses I'm going to wait and see what people say about them, House of 1000 Corpses is a definite No-No for me though, I have a 2 night ticket so the plan is what I've said above I'll do on the Wednesday night I'm there, and my 2nd night will be the Sunday.

Too be honest as long as I get to do Ghostbusters with a reasonable wait on that first night, I'll be happy!

Oh and any tips for where the best place to park myself in the S+S area to give myself the best chance of getting to Ghostbusters quickest?

I'm very looking forward to the Ghostbusters house!

S&S opens at 5 but you can sit in the holding zones prior
Staff will do the paper bands set up on all if in the holding sections early
They ask to see your hhn ticket before they put the wristbands on peeps

So hanging out in Springfield during S&S, Fast Food Blvd is open along with Lard Lad, Moe's and Bumble Bee?

Anyone have any info or personal experience with the Scareactor Dining and what they do with you after you eat?

I am thinking of making a 5pm reservation one of the nights I am going to HHN. I am pretty sure I will not need till 6 or 630 to eat (or maybe I would I do not know how long the meal takes with the scareactors going around).

Do you get escorted to a Stay and Scream area when you are done or do they keep you there until opening? I am debating between food (50 bucks is pretty good deal considering you get a picture) or getting a jump on the houses through S&S.

Depending on your meal time, you will either be escorted to the S&S area or released into the park with the general public.

I think its more of a luck thing vs where your waiting....Honestly, we have never had very good luck with S&S. Typically eat at Finnegans and head right to the waiting area as soon as they allow. We were close to the front of the line last year, but I'm not going to run to the house like many others do. By time we made it to Stranger Things the wait was already an hour...

We actually skip S&S now and just grab the half priced fast passes, usually head into the park around 8/9 each night. Works very well and we enjoy getting into the event when its already dark out.

Two weeks from today!!! Who is going opening night?

I can’t wait to see the event specific treats, and this year’s AP T-shirt, I really liked last year’s.

We`ll be there!!!!

Don't ever do Stay and Scream as we have the Rush of Fear with Express Pass...….so we`ll wander in a little after everyone has piled in...…..

Yes, really looking forward to it!!!!

Hey everyone, I will be going to HHN for the first time this year.

I know that HHN policy is no costume, masks, or face paint. But what sort of line is there between Themed clothing and a costume?

I want to be VERY basic and wear a Scoop Ahoy uniform shirt. Is that something they may not allow me to enter wearing? I guess it could be even more objectionable since they have the season 3 maze for Stranger Things, that said I doubt anyone would confuse it with a scareactor!

If security or TM think what you are wearing even remotely resembles a costume......it’s not allowed.

Safest thing is not to wear anything you think could could be mistaken as a costume in any way.

I have no clue what your shirt looks like, but consider you may be asked to change into something else.

Anybody who grabs a table at finnegans is lucky, no reservations taken days of event after 3 pm (could be earlier). It is an absolute zoo, incredibly noisy.

Ghostbusters is popular but if this year is anything like last year, stranger things is a must do

You will see people walking around with Stranger Things t-shirts etc. Universal sells T-shirts at HHN. So if it is only a shirt and not a costume you should be ok.

Worse case scenario you can wear a thin tank underneath and if something is said take other shirt off and tie it around your waist. I don’t think it will be a problem.

LOL! Thank keishashadow! expecting to have a blast. counting down the days now. Thanks for the tip on finnigans, I will try to make that happen. We have 6 days we get to attend. :yay:

We did Finnegans last year-I think we got there around 3:30-had to wait ~45 minutes (?? memory fuzzy-I did post on last years thread) for a "shared table" where you will be seated with others not of your party (we were a party of 2 and had a booth with another party of 2-2 young ladies from across the pond). dinner did take a while but I think we hit the S&S area 5:45ish? 6ish? Didn't have too long to wait before we were released to Poltergeist and ST-I do remember we had a fairly short wait at ST and then headed to Poltergeist also with a short wait. We have the EP this year but will likely try for Finnegans again at least one night.

Ghostbusters on the TV right now! This is going to be a Fantastic house!
My "hype" list:
Ghostbusters, Graveyard, Classic Monsters, Killer Klowns, ST are top 5. The only scarezone currently is anarch-ade. Hoping Depths and Yeti and Nightingales are good though. Loved the original houses last year.

We're going on Sunday first weekend. Should we be able to see every house with Express?

Yes, you should (I would say definitely, but you never know) be able to go through each house with Express. If you're new to the event, then I recommend trying to get there sooner than later. That way you have more time to figure out the flow of things. During the event you might want to spend some time in scare zones or you might just want to breeze through them on the way to the next house. If you want to watch one or both shows, then factor that in too. Same for if you want to go on some rides. If staying late (open to 1 am or 2 am depending on the day) is an option, then you have more room for everything. If you want to leave at an earlier hour, then you'd probably want to Stay and Scream or be there for gate opening.

We've been going since 2012 (always September to mid-October), and always had Express Passes. We almost always Stay and Scream, and we've never had a night where we couldn't go through each house if we wanted. We've been done by 10:00 and we've been done after midnight. Just depends on pace, crowds, and what we want to do. This includes 1-2 shows, 1-3 rides, a food break, and several drink breaks (and associated restroom breaks). Some nights we spend 30 minutes to an hour in Diagon Alley, since it's (usually) less crowded than during the day.

I don't want to make you feel like you have to get there and rush without enjoying everything, but I also don't want you to feel like you can do everything with no pace at all. If you want more advice, please ask and let us know what your priorities are, and we should be able to help you get the most out of your HHN w/ Express. Finally, don't fret, because you are going to have a great time!
