Star Wars Galaxy Edge - Oga's Cantina

Hi All
Silly question from someone who's from the UK
What would be the etiquette regarding tipping?.
Do you tip when paying or at the end?

Is it just me, but I don't get it?? So I understand the premise (looks like the bar from Star Wars), but no seating, drinks only (other than a couple of snacks) what is the appeal. I feel like I am missing something? Does it guarantee your time you will be allowed in Star Wars land?

I’d tip when paying the check/bill. For our group on Sunday morning, we weren’t presented with the check until we were finished, as were the other parties sharing the table. Paying the bill would be your one opportunity to charge to a credit card or your magic band. It’s so chaotic with multiple parties sharing spaces that I fear leaving cash on the table might get “lost.”

It’s the experience. Definitely not for everyone. The drinks are fine - I’m not racing to create any I tried at home. And I wish there were more snacks and bar stools. But to be in the cantina with “THE” cantina song playing, chatting with other Star Wars/Disney fans ... it was pretty cool. I believe a reservation does allow you to enter up to an hour before your reservation time, even if land is at capacity.

So, is this standing room only for the most part? Or are there barstools or a few tables? We're going as a party of 4 (3 adults/1 child) and were wondering if there's a place for the child to sit.

Zero barstools. Mostly standing room at the bar itself or bar height tables surrounding. There are a few half-circle banquettes that you COULD be seated at - there are some short stools for the other half of the table (or wheelchair accessible). But as far as I can tell you get assigned a space just based on capacity and where they can fit you in and you can’t request a booth unless you require wheelchair access. Importantly, once assigned a space, you can’t just move to a different space you see open up. It’s all carefully organized and if you leave your assigned space, they assume you’re done.

Having an ADR to Ogas, the Build a Droid or Light Saber is supposed to guarantee you time to go into SWGE. If the land is at capacity, then you may need to wait until people leave.
It looks like it will not get you onto Smugglers Run as I suspect that will be a standby line by itself.
Just happy to get a chance to walk around SWGe. Didn't really care if I did the current ride. Looking forward to RoTR.

when i booked they said there was a two drink limit and we were only allowed 45 minutes in the cantina....it may take 45 minutes to get one drink!
We were there on Sunday for the AP preview. Everyone waited on line to get in. They sat the 4 of us and 3 other people at one table. After we got our drinks, they wound up seating another 4 people at our table. The family of 3 left after one round. My daughter ordered a potion as her 2nd round. We got the check shortly after that.

The time starts when you are served your first drink. It's not a typical bar where you have to compete for the bartenders attention. It's very regimented and you will be given a dedicated server or bartender just for your immediate area.
They even ask you not to take pictures until you meet with your server and place an order.

We were able to place our drink order then order our second one later. I didn’t see anyone get kicked out for taking too long but I imagine it is enforced or will be once it opens to the public.

I personally would love to be escorted out by a storm trooper or two...

I have 6:10 reservation before my 8:30 Sci Fi ADR. Nice timing for cocktail hour. My biggest problem is, despite the 45 minute limit, it is considered an ADR and I can’t move the Sci Fi ADR up.

I think we will keep it because it gets us into the land and I can get a souvenir cup.
