Yes it is for 2 passengers.
March 2020
yes we are flexible
yes we are both under 5/24
Thank you!

So just to be clear, you’re looking at R/T tickets that are roughly $550/person?

What part of March are you looking at? Spring break in the latter half could really affect prices.

If anyone is interested hyatt points are on sale, it comes out to 1.7 per point then if you use your cc... go to world of hyatt
  • Purchase 5,000 or more Bonus Points in a single transaction and receive 40% additional Bonus Points. Bonus Points will be awarded upon completion of individual transaction.

I've never seen direct tickets from Disney go on sale. If you know you're going and want to buy direct from Disney, I'd suggest buying them sooner than later to avoid price increases, which definitely happen!

That's tougher to do now.with.the seasonal pricing and expiration dates. If you have set datez it works or you can invest in APs since the vouchers have a long shelf life.

my understanding of it was that shes flying CP to city where shes boarding her cruise... thats how i understood it haha.
Hmm okay. That doesn’t really help us much lol. I think we’ll probably just suck it up and get the 5% at target. It’s not the best discount but it’s better than nothing. Technically we could cash out URs but I’d really rather not

Did you get your CIC yet?!

You could go to office supply stores and buy Disney gift cards with 5x URs. That would be 7.5% when redeemed towards travel via CSR and help with MSR.

We go every march... there is a price increase in feb every year on the tickets . But we try and get to buy them in december anyways so we can use the fast passes. Also you will find the mid price hotels are sold out so you are stuck overpaying on really old hotels or buying high dollar rooms.

DH was initially eligible for the Schwab card and got all the way to the last screen before the dreaded pop-up appeared. The VERY weird thing is that I don't believe he's ever had a personal platinum card before and the only Amex he has is a business preferred. He had the SPG business but got rid of it after a year when they changed the program. We put a ton of money on the Amex business card (including a recent 5 figure transaction) so that can't be it. Annoying!

I am looking to buy DW park tickets using Altitude reserve real time rewards, any thoughts? Would Disney direct purchase trigger RTR? What about Undercover tourist or another OTA?
I haven’t seen DPs on that. My thoughts are you are trying to trigger the 1.5x and I don't think that will be possible. -Disney tickets code as entertainment with most issuers, not travel and only travel qualifies for the 1.5x
-You could try one and see if the system takes it by coding as it as lodging since Disney is on their list as eligible merchants but I still think the coding could hang you up here. Remember to watch your minimums and that you don't charge too much. Exceed the $500 mark -but don't purchase too much- if you're gambling it will count as lodging (my Disney direct booked hotel room did)
-This article is one you must read before attempting RTR and they say OTAs don't work and data they're compiling backs that up
-Make sure you've properly enabled RTR and checked the boxes of the categories you want working. Personally I can't even find that section on the website after the last update :(
Alternatives....
-Redeem straight on the rewards website for Disney hotels at 1.5x
-Lyft and therefore Minnie Vans work for it fyi. I've gotten a few Minnie Vans and it always goes through at RTR 1.5x eligible charge (this is why Uber Eats works = Uber which qualifies)
-If you need these points for tickets cash out at 1cpp

I can’t  it hasn’t been 90 days since my CIP

@Lain posted an idea on these popups somewhere in this post, its worth reading and making a choice... if only i had a spreadsheet to keep track of these post :P

Have any of you done the 7 night eastern Caribbean cruise with Disney? I was wanting to only do a 4 night cruise but they just released a cruise in November with a Florida rate with that itinerary

We have (in 2013 on the Fantasy), and LOVED it.... what are the ports? We had St. Thomas, San Juan, and Castaway Cay - I really enjoyed having 3 sea days to enjoy all that the ship had to offer.

ETA: I would definitely go for it - we had that itinerary booked on the Fantasy for November 2017, which obviously got changed to Western (booooooo!!!) because of the hurricanes. We have a non-Disney Eastern Caribbean 7 day cruise planned for 2021, and I cannot wait to get back to St. Thomas!

Sooooo I was in Durango for the last 4 days (on the motorcycle... didn't die so that's a plus) and while I took my laptop "to do homework", I am woefully behind as usual. I did manage to use my CF for all the gas station stops for the 5% bonus and remembered to use CIP#2 for the hotel bill itself and get the 3x bonus to meet MSR, so that's another plus.

@SouthFayetteFan , our football season also starts this Friday night but for our family (for myself and for my 15 year old son) it's correctly called "marching band season" ;)

I am getting ready to purchase our 3 day parkhoppers for our October DL trip and through UCT tourist it will be 745.90. Through the DL website it's $800. I have a Target Redcard and could get Disney CG's for 5% off to pay for park tickets but I think the UCT thing is a bit more of a discount so I guess I will stick with that.

So here is a "new churner" problem. I forgot that I had auto-payment set up for our pest control through the CF so that's money that could have been used toward the MSR on CIP#2 that was now "wasted". Grrrrr.

A thought on Informed Delivery: It makes it that much less likely that I will go to the mailbox if I KNOW nothing of interest is coming!

Just wanted to say thanks again to all here for all the tips and support. I know a couple of you responded last week to my question about an AMEX Hilton offer I had gotten on the Hilton website so thank you for that... I will continue to avoid AMEX for now as the only time I plan to stay at a Hilton is a few nights in Japan sometime next year. Probably not worth the trouble and potential RAT issue.

Can I just rant for a second? :mic:

I was at Costco yesterday restocking our pantry and fridge after coming back from vacation, where I passed by the Citi Costco credit card booth offering up a cooler bag for signing up, and a young techie wearing his company swag t-shirt (some machine learning startup) actually signing up with a big grin on his face! I can only hope that he’s well past 5/24 and really needed that cooler bag to store some brews for a nice picnic at a park somewhere. Because otherwise... :sad2:

One more /facepalm story. 🤦‍♂️ I live near a popular brunch spot (like, every neighborhood in San Francisco has one or several popular brunch spot(s)). When the weather is nice, like it was this past weekend, they do al fresco dining out front. And as I was walking past with my kiddo on the way to the park, I saw a couple of yuppies paying their check with an Amex Platinum card. Sure, it’s flashy, but it’s got a terrible earn rate—especially when so many other cards earn nice bonuses for dining! I really hope he was working on the MSR. Like seriously, I have 3 Platinums right now and the only time they ever see the light of day is when I’m headed to a Centurion Lounge. I don’t need to drop a Platinum on a check to show off if that’s all it does for me. (Besides, Rose Gold is much prettier. :lovestruc) And nope, this brunch spot isn’t part of the the Resy program or promo, so no extra MRs there.

I think I’m in too deep when I pay attention to what cards other people are applying for and using. I was sorely tempted to intervene, but I’ll settle for silently judging people. :magnify:

The annual fee for our Citi Premier Cards is coming up this month. Would it be an OK move to product change to a Citi Rewards+ Card. It looks like it still earns TY points, so I assume ours would transfer over. If that's not a good move, I'll probably just cash out for gift cards and cancel the cards (which is fine with me too).

Thanks for any advice!

I'll be facing the same choice in a couple months. Seems like a good move. I like that the Rewards+ rounds up to the nearest 10 points, so I'd probably use it for small purchases. I was concerned that if the account number changes, it might reset the 24 months clock. But there was a language change, so now that doesn't seem like a concern anymore.
