WOW! I am so sorry about the issue you had at POR. I would probably send the GM an e-mail. You can say how unhelpful the front desk CM was and give kudos to those that assisted with your son. I am so glad to hear he was ultimately ok! I am also glad that you were still able to have a good time despite some of the hiccups. :goodvibes
Thank you! Had my ds actually broken ribs, which is what we all thought early on, it would have been trip changing. Thankfully, that was not the case and we were still able to do everything we wanted to do.

We noticed some weird stuff with the the lines too. We'd scan in with our FP and then there were two lines and they were sending all to one side and then people scanned in way after us getting sent to no lines and those lines moving faster. Our Space FP was back to where the misting station is by the dvc place! Our BTMRR fp was a line weaving way out into frontierland. Just lines in general were crazy, with things like Country Bear, Philharmagic, Pixar shorts and Muppets being almost completely filled. WHAT!!??! I definitely think the rain/storms had a major impact but we had problems even outside that.

Yeah no matter the time of day all of the shows were pretty compared to normal full, tiki, country bear, cop (weird but good) muppets and american adventure. Frozen, Monsters Inc and Crush were all as full as normal. And I agree the lines were weird. I did have fairly good transportation luck though with buses and boats which was nice. Some was just due to timing so I could boat over to morocco or beach club instead of walking but it was still nice.

In Barcelona. So far it is great but so many people everywhere! DH gets panicky about that. Off to see La Sagrada Familia shortly. Had the free gold breakfast at Hilton. Fighting with DH over the room AC. He is trying to freeze me out! Saw a lot yesterday. And jet lag is so so so so real - awake all hours, ugh!

This is an embarrassing question, given that it's on the DIS, but it's been 7 years since I've been to WDW and my idea of hacking back then was to get the Disney Visa. Do DVC rental brokers count as travel expenses on the CSR? I checked out Flyertalk's dps and didn't see any mention of them.
It coded as travel on my CIP, so hopefully it would on CSR as well

Well just wanted to say how SW has won me over forever! My DH had to have eye surgery last Tuesday at John Hopkins in Baltimore last Tues and his follow up appointment was scheduled next Monday and we were to fly back home to ATL next Tues and this was all using points. Well, he was having some concerns with vision/swelling on Thursday called Dr and we went to her office yesterday and she said all is good and no need to come back Monday!! So we checked online to change our flight to get home earlier and was going to be 34000 points each to change days. DH calls this morning and talks to agent and she changed our flight to today with NO penalty charges!!! Customer service at its best, way to go SW!!!!

So glad the surgery was a success! I have a couple of good friends who are nurses at Hopkins and they absolutely love working there.

Just an FYI, SW never has penalty charges for changing your flights. I am guessing you mean they accommodated your flight for no additional cost/points?

Thanks and yes you are correct regarding no additional cost or points!!

Porque no quiero MNSSHP este ano

Yeah that’s right. I took Spanish 4 lol
!Yo tambien! :rotfl:
Mi hija esta estudiando Espanol 4 en la escuela este ano. :P
Muy bien! Man my phone does not like Spanish lol. It tries to change every word

Que sorpresa ver Español escrito aquí.

My phone doesn’t like it either and I have to change the language on it in the settings back if I’m writing something in Spanish so it doesn’t change the words. There were lots of Spanish dialects to choose from but Cuban isn’t one of them and neither is Spanglish. No comprendo porqué both are very common en Miami.

I'd imagine there's a lot of people who would love to see flights that cheap!

ME!! We can't even fly directly to ATL for that price normally. :(

There's still some credence to the spend theory, because people who have high levels of spend on Amex cards never seem to get the pop up. So I'm wondering if the pop up acts like a bouncer at a club. Amex MR cards, Bonvoy cards, Hilton cards, Delta cards — they all have a room capacity that the pop up manages. Maybe the bouncer is even responsible for letting the "right" kind of people into the club. If you're a low roller and there's a line to get in, you get bounced. If you're a high spending VIP (and maybe being a longtime customer helps), you go straight on through pop up free. As for the applicant, if you get bounced from one club, you just try the next club?

I think this is a great analogy. I've (knock on wood) done a lot of the things on @SouthFayetteFan 's Do Not Do list and they still like me, so I suspect the RAT bouncer likes me for now. As a Delta hostage to keep status I have to spend a certain amount on their Delta branded cards so I think that keeps me near the front of the line, maybe?

Also, we noticed the FP lines were always SOOOO long. Hasn't anyone else noticed this and have a theory why?

They were really long for my mid-July trip too. Space was backed up to astro orbiter and I waited in SDMT wrapped around to the check in area for BOG more than once. The outdoor rides I think would close for storms and reopen and that cycle all day just caused backup. Not sure what the excuse for things like buzz and space were. Buzz was so long we just got out of line and went to TTA. Of course, it had a line too.

I hate reading about the bugs and rude people. First of all, as we have discussed, I am petrified of those palmetto bugs. I grew up around them and have a huge fear. I literally have anxiety about them in the days prior to my trips and am constantly looking for them. Ugh.
The rude people are out of control. It is a societal thing. Just read social media. I don't think it is going to get any better. At least it gives us things to point out to our kids....how NOT to act. Trips would be so much more pleasant if everyone would be considerate and kind though.

I love reading about the 3 resorts you reviewed. I have been considering them all for upcoming trips. Pop is priced so cheap sometimes, it is hard to pass it up and pay 3-4x as much at a deluxe, even though I love the deluxe ones. I think we will be staying there soon enough too. And I saw movies rooms are done like pop's now, so that is on my possibility list too.
I really love the grounds at riverside, but those internal bus stops...ugghh. It sleeps 5 though, so sometimes I will have to be chosen when all 4 kids come with me. We were in a royal room last time and I wasn't impressed with the bathroom and how dark it was.
I am excited to try swolphin. I am trying to time it for when WDW resorts are priced too high. And since the gravy train is possibly derailing, I am trying to be very methodical about when I use those points. I wish it would show up on the UR portal. That would be a game changer. Did you kids like the pool area? I have never seen it. My boys always want y/b for the pool.

So APs!?!?! When is the next trip??

Unless something has changed, SDD has a line for even numbered parties and odd numbered parties. (This isn't made clear anywhere, I just figured it out by watching what was occurring when we rode it). You were assigned a line based on the number of people in your party. They do that to prevent any open seats and then alternate pulling from each line always filling cars. Sometimes the CM running the seating arrangements then has poor attention to detail and does not fairly balance the lines and it can be frustrating as you see others moving quicker.

EDIT: They also used to do this on SDMT and then stopped the process a couple of years ago, which made no sense to me. Now I see empty seats go out on SDMT from time to time...yet it worked so efficiently before.

That drives me crazy at the EMM events on SDD. It is just me and DD3 and we get put in the MUCH longer even riders line. I balk every time.

I got $200 loaded from my $500 VGC this morning at WM. I was worried about trying $500 again and the cashier seemed a little nervous so I just did $200 to make sure something wasn’t wrong with that card. It was fine today so I’m not sure if it was a problem with the amount yesterday or changing the PIN a couple hours before or what

I hope this is the case for DH as well. He uses the Hilton for a couple room nights every week so that is decent spend. His other cards are strictly for offers though.

Was it a metabank? Just wondering since I had to change the pin on mine due to damaged mail but haven’t used it yet. I hate when converting to Serve doesn’t work and people are waiting behind us, my daughter is rolling her eyes, and the manager has to be called.

A high school classmate of mine is an eye surgeon at Johns Hopkins. I wonder if she’s your surgeon!
