Disney Magic November 10th, 2019 Very MerryTime Cruise

No, she hasnt. I was waiting to see if id see something from her here. Is there a way for me to message her directly? Im new to this.
The system is set up so that you have to make 10 posts before you can use the PM application. I have already messaged her and she has not responded to my PM either. I also attempted to contact her outside of the system. I will get back to you tomorrow one way or the other and let you know what I know.

Do me a favor and do 8 short little posts. Like is this your first Disney cruise? What's your favorite character? Or Disney movie? Even if you just want to count to 8. Then I can send you a PM.

People kept commenting on why we'd take a disney cruise when we had no kids with us
This is an adult only cruise for us this time around. It's our 10th cruise, we'll be platinum after this. And it will be our Grand Slam as well. With this cruise we will have been on all 4 of the ships.

Anyhow, this will be my first christmas cruise! Is there anything special/different im going to want to bring/do?
Some people like doing their pictures with Mrs. Clause or Santa Mickey so they bring their Christmas Jammies. I personally will be bringing some of my Disney Christmas attire because after the tree lighting, I will be in the spirit! So, if there is anything that makes you feel Christmasie (Disney or not) feel free to bring it along so that you can feel in the spirit.
You're only 2 posts away!

Monday Forget Me Not's....

Happy Monday everyone. We have 12 Mondays until our cruise. I am getting so excited.
This weeks Forget Me Not is your important numbers and contact information.

Just in case there is a need, it is a good idea to have a list of important numbers, and contact information.
This could come in handy for many situations. Such as medical emergencies, or being a dock runner that happens to be just a few minutes late, and misses the boat. Or even the 'did I forget to turn the stove off' incidents. It is better to have them, and not need them, than to need them, and not have them.
You may also want the contact information list to send post cards to your friends back home. Did you know that there is a post office on Castaway Cay, Disney's private island? It is to bad that we won't have a chance to stop there on this cruise. That is one of our favorite places to mail our Christmas cards from on a fall cruise. If you would like Disney to mail your post cards from Castaway, you can take them to Guest Services and pay for their Bahamian postage, and ask that the next time the boat is docked at Castaway that they be mailed from the post office on the island.
Either way, this simple sheet of paper that will not bog your luggage down may come in quite handy.
Here is one that I use for my family (both at home and when we travel) - Tink's Emergency Contact List
(I can get you a copy if you would like one)

Have a great week,
~Tink~

P.S. When you receive your cruise document book a few weeks before sailing, there will be cards with ship contact information on it for you to give to anyone who may need to reach you in case of emergency or such. These cards work best when given to those who may need to contact you, not left sitting on the kitchen counter and then explained and described to the person you were going to give them to (chalk that one up to a Tink Moment!)

Happy almost Monday everyone. We have 11 Monday's until our cruise, and we are quickly approaching those single digits in my count down.

Today's Forget Me Not is not only a little early, it is going to be short and sweet. Today was the last day I could say that I was a home school mom because tomorrow we are taking our youngest to college. Why am I telling you this, so I have an excuse to not be at the computer tomorrow!!!!

So, back to it...
Monday Forget Me Not,...
We are rapidly approaching the end of summer, and entering fall. Even if the temperature does not agree, the store shelves certainly do. We have reached the point, even in our river rat, water park, tourist town, where the stores are not reordering any of its summer time items, like swim suits, goggles, mosquito repellent (or the bug bands I talked about in a previous post), or flip flops. The good news is (and why I chose today for this post) now is when all of the summer items are going on sale. So, if you missed out on my nudging at the pre-season sale, don't miss this one. Once the summer items are gone off the shelves, they won't be back until next spring. Sadly, that will leave you at the mercy of the online prices and selection, PLUS shipping.

Here's a quick list to hit the end of season sale with -
Swim suits
Rash guards
Cover ups and wraps
Shorts
Sun dress
Sandals and flip flops
Water shoes
Snorkel gear
Sunscreen
After sun
Mosquito repellent
Beach bag
Swimpers (swim dippers)
Kids body floatty

Have a great week,

Happy Monday everyone!

We are getting close... only 10 more of these to go!

Today's Forget Me Not is a reminder for your carry on bag. Not your whole carry on bag, just a small part of it, or one small bag separate from the sunscreen, the swimsuits (for those brave souls who will be taking an ice plunge), and from the bottles of wine. This is a reminder to pack casual dinner wear in your carry on for that evenings dinner just in case your luggage does not make it to your cabin in time for your dinner seating.

The cast members will do their very best to get each cabin its luggage before you have to head to dinner, but there are a few factors that slow this process down.

* First, they can only deliver luggage that the port authority
has already cleared and loaded on to the boat.
* Second, remember, that people can arrive as late as
2:30 - 3:00, which is only 2 1/2 hours before dinner. Which
means their luggage still has to clear the port authority,
and find its way to their floor after they board.
* Third there could be up to 2,700 passengers on the boat
who each are allowed to check 2 bags in. That is a
possible, 5,400 pieces of luggage that have to navigate
the narrow corridors of the boat to find their home away
from home.
* And fourth each cabin steward only has 2 hands.

So, it is understandable that your luggage may take a little longer to find its way to your cabin than it will for dinner time to arrive. But if you remember to pack your casual dinner clothes in your carry on, you will not have to worry. You will be all set to go.

What we have found that works well for this is packing cubes, one for each person. If you are in a small group, say of 2 like my traveling party this time around, you can probably find room for the cubes in another bag, or put the 2 in a small bag that can be tucked away in a larger carry on. However, if you are in a larger group of say 5 or 6, and each person has their own cube, having one bag dedicated to the packing cubes would work best. We would then have one of the adults take care of that carry on. Then, come dinner time, we were ready to go whether the luggage made it or not. This gave us one other advantage. if the luggage did make it, we did not have to hurry and unpack to try to find the clothes for that evenings dinner.

Have a great week,

Oh, one more thing, be thinking carry on with wheels, or back packs.

We're booked for our 4th Disney cruise, 2nd on the Magic, 3rd Christmas. Only one more boat needed, haven't been on the Wonder yet. Was kind of bummed when we realized that leaving a deposit on this cruise would expire before the Wish sets sail (2 years gets us to 11/2021). So instead, we hope to hit up a cruise on the Wonder before the new boat sets sail in 2022. Then we'll be Gold when we board the Wish!

Does anyone know what the main show will be on the cruise?
Welcome aboard schmied77!
:welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

The main show should be Tangled.
We are a little bummed that our place holder will not get us to the new boat as well. We are thinking of doing one of the real short cruises out of San Diego once we get to the 2 year out mark (that is if the time line works out). If not we will have to see where we are. Maybe a Texas cruise, or a 3 day in Florida.
Either way, I like your plan to get your Grand Slam before the Wish makes her maiden voyage. This is our Grand Slam cruise, and our going Platinum cruise.
