D23 2019 UPDATE 3/9 This is the end, my only friend, the end. Of our elaborate plans, the end.

Oh my gosh, and our costumes/cosplay for D23.

Is anyone else doing one?

We've decided on Friday: Ashley Eckstein and Dave Filoni (though we are well aware only SW geeks will get those).

Saturday is the piece de resistance. We'll be doing a 3 person mashup of Captain Marvel and Maverick (which is so topical right now). Brian will be flight suit Maverick. I will be flight suit Goose with cat ears and a cat toy Teseract. Our friend is going to be flight suit Capt Marvel. Very excited about these ones.

So I've got a tentative must do list. Surprisingly, I don't have that many time overlaps. Just unrealistic expectations about being able to get into panels right after another ends.

Friday

12:30-1:30 Music and Sounds of Galaxy Edge
2-3 Vader Immortal
3:30-5 Disney+
5 Agents of Shield signing
5:30-6:30 In Search of the Swiss Family Treehouse

Saturday

9:30-11 Ashley Eckstein Signing
10-11 Simpsons
12:30-1:30 HM 50 Years
1:30-2:30 Secret Project
3:30-5 Disney on Broadway
5:30-6:30 Musical Journey of Aladdin

Sunday

10:30-12 Disney Parks
12-1 Marc Davis
2-3 Women Behind SW Galaxy's Edge
3-4 Disney Character Voices
5-6:45 Ashley Eckstein signing

How about anyone else? Anyone have a list started?

I don't see Kermit on Saturday, Stage 28, 11:30am-12:30pm, on your list.

I hadn't gone through the schedule yet to see what they were doing, so I took a look. I do see a lot of overlap. I also see that my schedule doesn't have much time for me to go to the bathroom or eat or look at the vendor area or shop:rotfl2: Now we have to decide what to try to get Stage Passes for each day. I think it said 2/day in different venues. I bolded the ones where we match.

Friday
10:30-11:30am Great Moments with Walt Disney
12-1pm At Work with Walt
2-3pm Vader Immortal
3:30-5pm Disney+
5:30-6:30pm Swiss Family Treehouse Archives Stage

Saturday
10-11am Simpsons
11:30am-12:30pm Kermit
12:30-1:30pm Haunted Mansion 50th
1:30-2:30pm Secret

3-4pm Ken Anderson's Haunted Mansion (These overlap. I will have to decide)
3:30-4:40pm Immersive Worlds (overlap)
6-7pm Travels with Marty

Sunday
10:30am-12pm Parks
12-1pm Marc Davis
3-4pm Character Voices

4-5pm Kevin Rafferty
6-7pm Disney Storytelling

I wonder if we are going to need sleeping gear or chairs. I will probably bring my fold up chair anyway, since it's small and useful for even 30 minutes of waiting. I can't tell how much overnight or multi-hour waiting we will be doing though. I guess we may not know until the event:( I am also trying to decide if I want to bring my refillable water bottle or my Camelbak water bag (doesn't have a backpack, just an insulated bag holder with a short strap).

I can't believe it's getting so close. This means my son's summer is coming to an end though. I bought my park tickets from Undercover Tourist yesterdayparty:

I'm devoting my workday to not working, and hammering out my Expo schedule instead. But these are some hard choices, y'all! Still, love the way your days are coming together - lots of great stuff!

So -understand I have not sat down with DW and DD about the things they want to see but here is MY list. I am also keeping trying to keep my list to a minimum number of events as everyone says how hard it is to get from one to another - so I only picked THREE events each day. This doesn't mean we might not add on things - but again to focus on the important ones. Bold where we overlap. (Quite a bit.) Red are my only "Must Do"s

One thing I'm realizing is that we will definitely not have any need to "Camp Out" for Friday and Saturday. Sunday may be the biggest issue of the three, but I think if I tell my family that only one day of "early rising" they might be willing to.

Assuming there is no reservations available - what time would we need to get in line for the Disney+ presentation?

Friday

12:30-1:30 Music and Sounds of Galaxy Edge
3:30-5 Disney+
(is it possible to get into this one if seeing the previous one?)
OR
3:00 - 4:00 Agents of Shield Panel
5 Agents of Shield signing

Saturday

12:30-1:30 HM 50 Years

3:30-4:30 Immersive Worlds: Bringing the Films to Life In Disney Parks
5:30-6:30 Musical Journey of Aladdin

Sunday

10:30-12 Disney Parks
3-4 Disney Character Voices

4 -5 Magic Journey with Kevin Rafferty

That was me yesterday, @kristenabelle...and I still didn't make any decisions. Ha! ;)

@OhioStateBuckeye Our schedule is so not firmed up. We are currently debating the Legends and Movies panel. My guest and I often split up to go to different panels and she regrets not doing some of the smaller ones with me in 2017.

Friday
3pm: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D
5:30pm: Swiss Family Treehouse

Saturday
10am: Disney's Hidden History
11:30am: Making Holiday Magic (G)
12:30pm: Haunted Mansion 50th Celebration (LG)
3:30pm: Disney on Broadway (LG)
3:30pm: Immersive Worlds (G)

Sunday
10:30am: Parks, Resorts
2:30pm: 50 Years of the Archive
6pm: Art of Disney Storytelling

We have tons of conflicts with smaller panels that aren't listed. Ha!

Kermit is going to come down to 'will this interfere with anything else?' If the answer is no, we'll go. But I literally have no interest in what else that panel is about, besides him being there in some capacity.

We might be getting special seats for Vader Immortal, since our friend wrote the script for it. I'll keep you updated on that one.

We have our tiny chairs that we'll bring anyway. You will be in a non-moving line at some point and so long as the chairs are small/light it's not bother to bring them.

That camelbak sounds kind of heavy. Is it awkwardly heavy?

We should be getting our park tickets any day. As soon as I remember and am not exhausted from work. Did you do the 3 days?

Eh, Alex will just have to deal with it. I'd love to have an adult summer break. He should be lucky to have it in the first place.

Smart to limit yourself from the start. I obviously did not do that.

I wish I could tell you better about Disney+...I just have no idea. I thought it'd be considered a bigger panel but Brian is really arguing with me and saying I think it will be bigger than it will be. Let's just really hope we can get an advanced pass for this one and not have to worry about it. Because it's really bothering me too, and I don't want to waste my whole Friday by waiting for it.

Looks like we have some overlap Sat and Sun. We can def try to meet up in line if so.

I def want to do smaller panels this year. They were some of my favs last time.

I wouldn't mind the Legends panel, but we got so much done early Friday last expo. We got the MOG store done, we got our wristbands for all the music emporium signings for the weekend. Well, ok, two things, but two big things. My number one store and wristbands for two artists that were must dos.

OK, sounds like almost everyone posting here wants to see the Treehouse panel. We should def try to do a meet up for one of these smaller panels.

So blog mickey posted some MSEP snacks and merch.

I must have this cake. It's prob gross, but just look at that!!

And this popcorn bucket.

I am obsessed with the little bugs and the gentleman turtle that are near the front of the parade. They always end up coming up to me (one of them, at least) and making their weird noise. Love them.

This tumbler has my fav gentleman turtle (I just call him the gentleman turtle because he has such a stylish hat):

I'm not interested in the other stuff in the Kermit panel either. I guess I would be very disappointed it were a pre-recorded video of him. I know that I will probably end up bailing on it, because I will need to eat and shop at some point.

My chair is one of those really light weight fold up REI ones. I think you guys have similar ones. I will definitely bring it.

The camelbak is less heavy than a camelback backpack. It isn't heavier than my stainless steel refillable bottle. I can slip the camelback into my backpack or attach it to the backpack.

What size poster tube do you recommend? I don't have a decent one, so I was going to pick up one from Container Store.

I am looking forward to these too:jumping3: The cake probably is bland, but it's so bright and colorful:P

That's the thing. We get so caught up picking panels that we forget all the other stuff there is to do as well.

I would get a regular size poster tube. The Coco poster we got last time was pretty big. But you never know what they'll have this time.

Not sure if you are aware of this because I haven't seen it generally broadcast to the public (both for you and @soniam) , but Oga's Cantina has started accepting reservations about 13-14 days in advance - I just booked a time for August 17th but it wasn't available Sunday morning. The reservations do seem to be filling in, so if you want to book at the Cantina - better early than late!

Good looking out, thanks. Looks like Tuesday August 20 may be the latest day available at this point.

I tried Saturday morning when it opened for the 17th to see how stuff worked. It looks like it is exactly 2 weeks out. I was able to get the time and number of people for what we will want before the Expo. Since we are trying for Wednesday & Thursday before the Expo, @OhioStateBuckeye and I will be online trying tomorrow morning and Thursday morning. When I have messed around with it, I have still seen some availability for less than 2 weeks out, depending upon the time.

Brian and I went out to eat, so I was able to force him to pick panels. This is how we're looking, completely realistic, leaving time for other stuff and taking into consideration time to get from one panel to another.

Friday
12:30-1:30: Music and Sounds of Galaxy's Edge (arena, stage pass)
3:30-5: Disney + (Hall D23, stage pass)
5:30-6:30: Swiss Family Treehouse

Saturday

This is the rough day.

10-12: Studios (will only go to this if we get a stage pass)
10-11: Simpsons (if we don't do studios)
12:30-1:30: HM 50 (stagepass)
1:30-2:30: Secret Panel
3:30-5: Disney on Broadway (stagepass if we don't do Studios)
5:30-6:30: Musical Journey of Aladdin

Sunday
10:30-12: Parks and Resorts (Hall D23, stage pass)
2-3: Inspiring Women Behind GE (stage 28, stage pass)
4:15-5:30: Disney Character Voices
5:30-6:30: Disneyland 59

This day kind of sucks for the stage passes. Would prefer to do Parks and Voices, but they are both in Hall D23 and we can only do pass per stage per day.

What does everyone think about my Saturday?? If we do get Studios passes, there def won't be time to get to HM 50. So can basically do Studios, Secret Panel, Broadway and Aladdin. Or Simspons, HM 50, Broadway and Aladdin.

Did anyone else decide on a realistic Saturday?

I very much suspect that the system will work in such a way that we will all get shut out of all but a few stagepasses. I hope I am wrong - but this is what I am worried about. Hopefully there's enough non-planners out there to make it not too bad - but I seriously doubt it.
