Not really "October" specific, but more fall at WDW - do any parks other than Magic Kingdom decorate for fall? Like pumpkins, leaves, special photo ops, etc?

They finally released October booking for the Frozen dessert party over at Epcot for those interested. Managed to grab us a date on the 9th.

Anyone else struggling just a bit with scheduling for their October trip? The early hours (and lack of late hours for AK) are giving me trouble with trying to figure out which park to do which day. I had everything all figured out - but when they dropped the Extra Extra Magic Hours, it has me rethinking ALL my plans. I love the low crowds at rope drop, but my family will KILL me if I try to make them do 2 days at 6 am (or earlier). So - if anyone has any ideas about their plans & would like to share - I'd love some support. My dates are Oct. 9 - 14 - right before Columbus day.

DD & I are only really doing 2 parks other than MK/MNSSHP this trip - DHS and AK.

For AK, we had a PPO ADR at Tusker House that we dropped when EEMH were announced, but luckily had also made an ADR for brunch just in case we changed our mind about breakfast. Since it is only 2 of us on this trip, we are also going with the flow, possibly taking advantage of the EEMH.

We added a DHS because DD wanted to ride RnR and made our reservation at POFQ a package. DD doesn't care for SDD so that helps, but we might try to still hit TSMM. At DHS we are planning to head to the park in the afternoon after brunch at Trattoria Al Forno, and only hit what we want to hit - most likely avoiding SWGE, and hoping for the best. With the EEMH we are hoping some of the crowd shifts in the afternoon... hoping.

Using Kenny the Pirate's crowd calendar for guidance, both parks look to either be the best or not be the worst parks for the days we are planning, but the resorts all look full-ish. It is a long weekend in mid-October 17-21 when we are going, so all bets are off. We might try to squeeze in some mini golf somewhere too?

18th - AK, hit the EEMH
19th - DHS, roll in after brunch
20th - sleep in, beignet dash at FQ, MNSSHP 4-close

We tried for sept 29. They had some at night but we have ADR’s. We go sept 26-oct 6. We will just ripe drop it.

Mostly just the Magic Kingdom, but in Epcot the Living with the Land ride does get seasonal updates. There are pumpkins and other autumn plants in October.

We booked Sept 28- Oct 6 for the exact same reason. Don't forget the end of Illuminations and start to the new show at Epcot for the reason why it's going to be busy.

I booked my FP yesterday (staying 9/28-10/4, so on both boards). Here's what i wrote:

So. Today was the dreaded Tuesday morning FP day. Using the website in incognito mode worked best, but I still had Olaf popping up a lot and could not confirm my first one till 7:17am. The app was useless for me.

Anyway, we’re a party of 6, which I don’t know if that’s considered a lot but we’re used to just the 4 of us. I only checked out SDD availability for 2 days - 60+1 which I knew would have nothing and I was right, and 60+ 6, in which the earliest I could get was 10:25am. Not bad, but I didn’t book it. We’re doing 6am rope drop twice and with the awful tier changes at HS I didn’t feel the need to book any FP there at all.

I got FOP twice. This to me seemed even harder to snag than SDD. Got it for 1:05pm on day 60+4 and 11:25am on day 60+6. These were the EARLIEST times. Surprisingly Expedition Everest was sort of hard to get at a good time, so I didn’t book it. We’ll do it at rope drop.

Every other ride was super available at MK and Epcot, which leads me to believe the crowds are going to be worse at AK and HS than the other 2. I could have booked 7DMT on day 1 (a Saturday, no less)!!!! That’s crazy for how it’s been in the past. I actually didn’t book it because I got it 2 other MK days, no problem.

Last night I went back and made some modifications so my times are closer together. I'm still fussing with them as I type because I'm just not 100% happy with my plans this trip. I did manage to get an Expedition Everest for 9:05am on day 60+6 (cancelled Dinosaur for it). 1 thing to note, I could not make any FP at any park for before 9am. Maybe they'll drop them later?

I'm still in disbelief, but I got every Fast Pass I wanted, but SDD. I figure if I this is the only major ride I have to wait for (and also not opposed to skipping it this trip) I'm doing good. Now just hoping my favorite lower tier ride Pirates isn't a hard FP to get after I've used my 3 on my Magic Kingdom Days.

I honestly have looked at my FP selections several times in disbelief that I got what I wanted. I'm sure only being 2 of us this trip helped.

You won't have a problem getting Pirates as a 4th+ FP. Even standby isn't usually bad for it if you can't grab it for some reason.

SDD is the only one I want for our HS day. RD is not an option since we be at MNSSHP the night before. It will be what it will be.
