So I have been reading the forums for 19 years...
Where are these magical places I can buy GC for less that their face value. I do not have a Target CC. I do have a BJ's membership but not their CC. I have Discover and Disney CCs.
I have a friend who has COSTCO.
Leaving in a few weeks.

Please glitter bomb me with your knowledge.

I am here for the same reason. Sam's is having a big one-day sale today, so I am checking to see if anyone knows how discounted those cards are.

So, most people churn gift cards. They get discounted gift cards for a store that sells Disney GCs (and allows GCs to be purchased with the store GC). Buy the store GC at 10% off (or more) and then use it to buy Disney GCs.

I don't have a credit card, so I can't help you with the ends and outs there. I have a Target debit card and Target is the most reliable (as of right now) discount. BJ's does offer a discount on cards, but since they started charging you to buy online I haven't been (no store anywhere near me). I don't think Costco carries Disney. Check out the thread for more information.

No more than the normal discount. The sale is on their "extreme value cards" which doesn't include Disney.

ETA: Most stores no longer allow you to buy gift cards with gift cards. Walmart and Sam's seem to be the only ones who do with a few scattered incidents of some gift cards working elsewhere.

I loosely follow the gift card thread. I like easy, direct routes to save a little money vs the churning some people do.
Looking at the info you provided I’d buy the discounted gift cards at BJs online. Pay with your discover card linked to PayPal since the 5% cash back categories for discover includes paypal this quarter.

Retail Me Not is a shopping cashback portal. You shop through their site and you get cash back - it takes about a month to get the money credited to your account.
They have several stores that sell Disney cards - Staples, Best Buy, Target, even Disney sometimes.
Right now they have Staples for 8% cashback.

Check out the gift card thread, there are tons of offers floating around for specific stores or CCs that get posted on a daily basis.

Best way to save a bit if money in that short time.
Link your checking account to a target debit card.( Just bring a check and it's done right there for you) this will get you 5% off the Disney gift cards. Other than that I use my Disney cc and redeem my rewards before my trips.

i'm surprised any stores allow people to use their store gift cards to buy other gift cards. i recently read an article that reported that organized credit card thieve rings are using these businesses as their primary means of getting cash. they get someone's cc number and do an on-line purchase of gift cards w/a bogus email address. when within minutes they get the electronic cards/pin to activate them another thief is outside the corresponding chain store where they go in and use them to buy another stores' gift cards (ideally one that also allows purchase of another store's gift cards) and then relay the new gift card information to do this a couple more times. when they hit the end of the line they list the last acquired gift cards on one of the discounted gift card sites. since it takes time for an individual to discover the fraud, the c/c company to initiate the fraud investigation and then each store to research/try to cancel their fraudulently purchased gift cards it provides plenty of time/confusion to get their $$$$ in hand and not be traced. it was reported that some chains are considering discontinuing gift cards altogether.

Target has 2 options for the 5% savings. One is the Target CC and the second is the Target Debit card. You attach the debit card to your bank account and you get the 5% savings on purchases.

Unless something changed, you don't need a BJs credit card to purchase gift cards. I've purchased Disney gift cards at BJs using my Disney Chase.

I do remember buying a few cards from BJs over a year go (as a non member) but I believe they changed it a few month ago. Now it just says "Member Only Price".

Does anyone know where there is a current sale online or near NY for more than 5% on GC?

The only one of these I know of is Sams club

Link your Discover card to Paypal. Use paypal to pay for Disney cards on Raise.com and get 5% off. Or what I've been doing is buying walmart gc on raise using my discover so I get 5% there. Buy gc at Sams club (4% off) and go thru Ibotta for additional 2%.

If you have a BJ’s membership, a $500 gc is $479.99 online and you can pay using paypal to get the extra 5% back on Discover. I just did this- next week I will pay off my pass with it and use the free $20 in Black Spire. :)
