*** Yay May! OFFICIAL MAY 2020 THREAD!!! Flowers are starting to bloom! ***

I'm also skeleton planning today! We may do Epcot on a Sunday (among other days) I'm not worried. :)

So writing out my plan (I like to watch it change over time)

Wed night - Epcot with Biergarten dinner
Thursday - MK morning/early afternoon, pool/relax, Boathouse dinner, then back to MK for DAH if offered or just until close
Friday - relax morning, then AK with Boma dinner around 8 or so
Saturday - pool/relax, Epcot afternoon to close with La Hacienda De San Angel dinner
Sunday - pool/relax, DHS or Epcot afternoon to evening - Yachtsman dinner
Monday - DHS all day/evening - Wine Bar George dinner
Tuesday - either AK, pool, back to AK for DAH and Nomad for light dinner or pool, then AK later afternoon to close with Nomad for light dinner.
Wednesday - MK, pool, dinner at hotel, possibly Toledo
Thursday - last full day, maybe DHS and Epcot, dinner out of pocket, not sure where
Friday - home to get our kitties!!! 😍

Feel free to critique!
Sounds like a great plan! We'll be doing Biergarten again for the first time as well, my mom is from Europe so i think she'll love the German Oktoberfest thing! Isn't planning part of the fun, even this far out???? :)

I'm really looking forward to Flower and Garden, especially since they have the food kiosks like Food and Wine does! That's my favorite part of visiting in the fall!! So excited!

Do we know based on the past what the likely EMH will be for May 2020? I’ve never paid attention because I’ve always stayed offsite and never had access to EMH. I was trying to find May 2019 but I couldn’t locate that information. Thanks.

Does anyone know why there are zero standard rooms available at wilderness lodge or Yacht club for a Saturday to Saturday stay in early or mid May. is there something going on bc i have always been able to find availability at yacht club when i look 6 plus months out. Is this just bc may is thay busy? Or with the new attractions?

I found them here for last year - obviously year to year it's subject to change, but you can look for patterns for when morning and evening EMH are offered. The rule of thumb is that generally the park having EMH is more crowded on that day and I usually use that to avoid that park, but YMMV:

I think I've mostly decided on the order of my park days! They coincidentally seem to fit in nicely with the EMH calendar that @Roscoe18 posted above.

Is anyone else hoping for reservations at the Space restaurant in Epcot? Will you be booking a back-up ADR in the meantime while we wait for ADRs, menus, and reviews to come out?

Oh yeah, I'm excited about the Space restaurant! If it really is going to open by the end of this year, I'm hoping that by the time I hit my 180 day mark (early November for me), they'll have ADR availability for it. I plan on a backup if for whatever reason it's not available by that point.

I don't know what's up with that - the Yacht Club had zero standard rooms for May even when you could only book by phone. I think they are blocking them out for some reason.

And got my Magical Express confirmation!!! :dance3:

We had a rough week - one of our cats, Cashew, hurt his leg and we ended up with an $800 vet bill. We have insurance, but have to meet deductible first, blah blah blah. Just some unexpected costs that come out of vacation budget. Obviously I'll always take care of them before anything, but I was worried we would be dipping too much into our vacation savings. So this leads me to why Disney did me a solid....

I have an annual pass I bought back in Feb that we were going to use, but circumstances changed and we aren't using it for this upcoming trip, so we were saving for another trip. When all the cat stuff happened, I emailed Disney to ask if it was possible to get a refund on the annual pass since it wasn't activated, explained my situation. I know it's no refunds, but decided it couldn't hurt to ask.

Well...I just got an email from them saying that as a one time courtesy they are going to refund me the $952 for my annual pass!!! Can you believe it??? I was almost in tears. That's going straight to pay on our upcoming vacation. It really helps me feel better with our money situation. I need a "cushion" to feel good about trips (won't use credit) and replenishes what I had to spend and more. I don't know why I'm the exception to the rule but I am so grateful. :)

Anyways, here are these two knuckleheads that I just love so much 😍 😍 (Walnut in the back, Cashew up front):

Woohoo!!! Booked our plane tickets!!! It's real now!!!

:banana::banana::banana:
Any reason why you booked so early? The airline I intend on using doesn't have rates out yet. There are 2 airlines with the best departure times for nonstop flights out of our closest airport. I checked based on your comment and saw that the back-up airline has rates listed. Yikes, that was like reading a scary story!

Its United who we like to fly with, the times we want, pick of seats and a price we are comfortable with. The price isnt going to go down by much, if at all, so we purchased now.

Yes! We adopted them together. The little guy is still having some problems with his sprain. :( He's limping a bit today. The x-rays were negative so it must just take time to heal I guess. We had stopped his anti-inflammatory, but I think we will give him his last one today, it seems to help.

poor baby, hope he feels better soon!

So happy to find this thread! We're headed to Disney next month and plan on booking the free dining bounceback for late May while there, but I need some help from more experienced Disney-goers. It's my birthday plus our 10 -year wedding anniversary the same week, and we're doing our first adult-only trip! :cool1: 🍻

We're torn between 3 resorts:
-Gran Destino Tower at Coronado - love the look/adult feel, love that it's new, but not in love with the location and that the pool isn't right by it. Quick Service included and we would upgrade to Deluxe Dining.
-Wilderness Lodge - Husband would like to try this, pool looks cool, but I don't know if I like the location - is the ferry a pain? It just seems out of the way - Mid-dining plan included, would upgrade to Deluxe
-Yacht Club - love the location & pool (we were supposed to stay here next month but had to change resorts to better accommodate my in-laws) - Mid-dining plan included, would upgrade to Deluxe

Thoughts by those who have stayed? Not concerned on pricing, they're all a few hundred apart.
