Hollywood Studios- 6AM opening question

I just bought a 1 day ticket to HS for mid Sept when it opens at 6am for extra magic hours. Is the thinking that the majority of people will run to Star Wars land, so maybe TSL will be empty? Since I have passed my 60 day window already, I was unable to get FP for SDD. Just wondering if I will need them if I get there sometime before 9? Any thoughts? TIA!

I think that's the general thinking. If you're staying on property you can participate in the EEMH at HS. And if you're staying off property you can choose fast passes at the 30 day mark.

Thanks. Yes we are on property and willing to get there at 6am (or a bit before). Am hoping to check out the land for a bit and then head to SDD with minimal waits.

Yes. Evidence also has shown that 7AM EMHs for Toy Story Land are fairly slow.

If you are talking about looking at SWGE then yes go there first if you are talking about checking out TSL then riding SDD no do SDD first.

Honestly we want to do both. Check out SWGE (but not ride the ride if the wait is super long) and ride SDD (no fastpass).

I am not sure. I pretty sure the line for SWGE will form fast and be long but how fast is the question. Also SDD line could form fast as some will not be interested in SEGE and go there first. When day are you going can you look at the wait times for a few days and see.

Thanks for the reply. I will definitely be checking out the days before we go to see what the lines are looking like.

Based on what’s been happening at Disneyland, where millennium falcon waits spike at opening, and then it immediately gets less busy for a little bit, I’m betting the ideal order is something like slinky dog Dash, millennium falcon, toy story mania, alien swirling saucers, walk around SWGE. Remember the two lands are immediately adjacent to one another. But until we know how they’re going to control access to SWGE This is all just speculation.

Thank you for the great input!

I am still a little skeptical that HUGE numbers of Resort Guests are going to get up at 4:30 AM while on vacation, even with SWGE,especially the "deeper" into September/October we get and the "excitement" begins to fade some.

I am betting TSL at 6:00 AM will be VERY manageable.

We'll see.

Im hoping that the 6am start will leave TSL pretty quiet so me and my wife can ride SDD a few times with little wait.

Anyone else hoping/feel like this extra early start almost gives them an extra half day on their holiday? If it isn't too crowded i can see doing everything we want to do in DHS by midday at the latest and then using that extra time either in another park or to relax at our resort.

I am afraid that TSL will be busy during EMH. I see a lot of people talking about the idea of it being empty. It will be great if TSL is empty but I am not confident.

It also depends how they handle the SWGE handles the line. If they do the virtual queue and it fills up fast people might be looking for something to do and they fill up TSL.

Yes I'm hoping that it works out that way. We are going to have 2 days planned at DHS, 1 early morning for SWGE and 1 for TSL and I'm hoping that by 11AM on each of those days we are done and heading back to YC for a nap/swim or to Epcot for lunch at F&W.

We have a night we are doing 8:30PM F! so I got a FP for SDD at 9PM since the park is open until 10-TSL looks like it's fun at night. I think all of the extra hours are going to be wonderful!

Given I normally get up at 5:30 am, get up at 3:30 am for a flight to Orlando, and am a HUGE SW fan, I know at least some guests will be getting up at 4:30 am to go to SWGE in mid-Sept!

But I am hoping you are right - and that not that many folks can really pull that 6 am opening off. I'm guessing TSL will be manageable until 7 am.

I would imagine there are still plenty of people who don't give a rat's *ss about Galaxy's Edge who will be rushing to SDD. Have fun!

I don't stay on site, but if I did - getting up at 4:30AM is not my idea of a vacation (and I'm a Star Wars fan).
