LOL Our local movie theater is about 5 minutes from home and is all reserved recliner seating. It's mostly locals so everyone brings their blankets and gets comfy. So it looks PlanePrincess worthy but feels like I'm in my living room. My blanket is hidden behind me for the picture. Of course it's a Mickey Mouse blanket that was given to me as an FE gift by a friend :goodvibes
I'm so sad because our theater here doesn't have recliners. We got so used to our recliners in Iowa and it's so hard to go back to normal seats. Do any AMC theaters have the recliners?

ETA: I saw someone mention upthread that their AMC theater has them. I'm gonna have to search around for one near us that has them.

We have two AMC's within 10 mins and both have the recliners.

Yes, in Tampa, but we have to drive a bit. Plus the Dinner Theater in Disney Springs is an AMC with reclining seats

Our matinees are $11. $13 if you want to buy online (which if you don’t you can almost be assured you drove 15 mins for nothing).

WHAT is with the Axe throwing?! I keep seeing that pop up on Groupon for a few cities!
My coworkers boyfriend is big in axe throwing. That's part of what brought them to the area, to open a new location. He also travels and competes and they are trying to get it into the Olympics

Its not ridiculous to buy a pool float for the dogs, right?

Right?
Heck no!!

The AMCs in our area with recliners are super expensive and don’t get me started on their concession costs. That’s why I am so thankful for my theater. DD was a film major, we see a LOT of movies. I have gone 4 weeks in a row. And will go again next weekend.

Oops I was wrong, 5 weekends in a row.

Have you been to any film festivals? We went to film festivals in Saugatuck, MI a few times. I'm sure it's not like the big ones, but great for us!

I hope I don't get shunned for this, but I didn't like the Lion King movie at all. Dh and I both looked at each other multiple times throughout because we were so bored. I actually almost fell asleep which doesn't normally happen for me at movies. I'll admit that I'm not a huge fan of the cartoon Lion King anyway so maybe that plays a part in it. I guess I just thought the movie was extremely slow paced and the whole voice over on the animals just didn't work for me. However, Timon and Pumba redeemed the movie somewhat because they were fantastic, but besides them I was not a fan of this one. Let the shunning begin... Also, why is it so hard for people to find their reserved seats? At our theater you have to pick your seats so no one should come in wandering around. There were many people confused and moving seats which makes no sense to me. Our theater had lots of kids, but they were all very well behaved. There was one little boy that was singing which was pretty funny and it didn't last long. I did see his mom get up with him multiple times to walk down the stairs and around at the bottom a bit. He looked like he was maybe 3 or so.

This is completely unrelated, but does anyone know where you can get cheap, lounge chairs? I'm talking the trifold ones that are super cheap. I've looked everywhere and can't find any under $40. My mom said she got hers at Dollar General but it was a couple years back. This is what I want:

I just went to see Lion King today at our local small-town theater. $4 matinee, $9.50 for two medium drinks and a large popcorn. :) Last week we went to see Toy Story in the bigger theater about 20 miles away. $6 matinee and about $18 for large popcorn and soda.

So we're still planning away at our Sedona/Pheonix/Grand Canyon trip for this Christmas break. Flights to Arizona over Christmas break? $500 a person. Flights to Arizona most weeks after Christmas break? $150 a person. UGH...I wish we had the opportunity to take dock or no pay days. :( To put it into perspective, I have to teach three weeks to make up the difference. It's a 24 hour drive from our house to Sedona. DH is ready to scrap the whole trip and try to go sometime in a few years. I'm still trying to figure out how to make it work, especially because I called and already paid the Waldorf Astoria Biltmore for the resort credit and $100/$500 Amex offer. It wasn't a non-refundable reservation, but I don't want to mess with it regardless.

They won't let you carry that into the movie theater :D

But no, haven't really see them in a decade. I'll keep my eyes open.

The last one I bought was at kmart, and I think most are closed now. Maybe big lots. I'd look online though as patio furniture is starting to get put on clearance and those will be part of it unless it's sold year round in FL. Otherwise maybe tack beach shops along the coast?

Don’t need to close. You can have five of each. The difference between bluebird and serve is that bluebird can just be used at Walmart.

Is that the only difference? So all of the information out there about Serve also applies to Bluebird, except that you can only load at Walmart?

I was thinking about getting into the Serve MS game, but thought I needed to close my Bluebird first. Have not touched the BlueBird card since 5 years ago when you could get $500 Vanilla Reloads and load them online.
