DISchurners Announcement #2:
It's time for everybody's favorite event...the semi-annual refresh of the SUPPORT Link Threads.

As a reminder - ANYBODY is welcome to share their support links in these threads. The instructions are at the top of each one.

For those that have previously posted, the easiest way to move them over is:
1) Go to your OLD comment in the OLD thread (you'll see the old threads listed near the bottom of the DISchurners feed)
2) Click EDIT
3) COPY the entire comment text in the edit box
4) PASTE the comment text as a NEW comment in the NEW thread (you'll find the new threads near the top of the feed)
5) CHECK all links to make sure they are active and working
You do NOT need to delete your old comment when done, you can just leave it in that thread.

This process will help you not have to re-do all your formatting.
Side note: It is best to access DISchurners in old reddit. (https://old.reddit.com/r/DISchurners/)

I added a comment in each thread that 1099s may be issued for the value of any points as a warning. I also edited the language about self-support in the AMEX thread to warn people against doing it (vs. encouraging them to do it).

I will post reminders for this over the next week or so and will then remove the old threads with only the new threads remaining.
Of course, I just finally got around to adding my links yesterday. Lol
Thanks for the upkeep.

Ok here's something that's been bugging me for a bit and I can't seem to figure it out.... Amazon and credits. So I got about a million Amazon deals recently like 'buy a $25 gc,send by text,we'll credit you $5'....things like that. How do I find or access any of this? TO be honest,I'm losing track, and there doesn't seem to be a way to automatically see or apply these to new purchases! I am planning to go over my scribbled notes,as I was writing them down and screenshotting to keep up,I can't see any digital gifts, I can't figure out how to work these at all or even to see what I supposedly earned. (one exception was the whole foods $10 on prime day credit which auto applied) Any help here?

I haven’t forgotten to get you more tips! It’s just been a very busy day (and week in general). I’ll circle back around to this, but since you’ve been talking about visiting Alamo Square, I wonder if you’re interested in adding a stop at the Full House house to fit in with that whole theme. By the way, we drove by Alamo Square this afternoon and it was packed. The Painted Ladies at Alamo Square make for a nice backdrop, but the Tanner home used in the b rolls is about 5-10 minutes drive north in Lower Pac[ific] Heights. Jeff Franklin, who created Full House, purchased the home a few years ago, dropped a pretty penny restoring the original look of the house as seen on screen, and recently relisted it for sale. It should be a very quick stop since there’s not much parking around Broderick Street and it is an active thoroughfare (which doesn’t stop tourists though).
Thanks, no rush, I know you're busy and I appreciate any insight :)

Yes, I think the Tanner house should be on my list. While I think DD2 would be happy with just Painted Ladies, if I drop in that drive by, she'd be really happy.

I'm rethinking Lombard, I think she'd enjoy walking it so rather than drive by I think I should include it during the walk toward the Pier, assuming that's the plan we follow. There's a lot I want to do (Oracle Park, Coit Tower, the various museums), but trying to stay flexible as I know this whole trip will be asking a lot of my son. He can handle Disney as long as I give him ways to tune out (headphones/sunglasses/phone), but we haven't done much of any other type of vacation.

There's been quite a few events going on this weekend to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing. Last night I braved the crowds and unbearable heat on the National Mall for a show. They projected the rocket onto the Washington Monument, accompanied by a 17-minute show featuring clips of JFK ("We do this not because it is easy, but because it is hard."), mission control, the Moon landing itself, and audio of the astronauts talking back and forth with mission control. Truly one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. The applause from the crowd when the craft landed on the Moon (projected onto the monument!) warmed my heart. I love living in DC.

I was just looking at photos/video a friend posted from there. That would have been cool to attend. I do miss the area a bit I suppose lol

:offtopic: Is the new lion king movie good? Hearing mixed reviews. I’m wanting to see it but news wasn’t saying very positive reviews. Trying to figure when we can see it before DH surgery

Saw it last night. OMG! SO GOOD! Like @DisneyMandC said, something like 80% of the movie is a shot-for-shot remake of the original, but in a good way. The hyenas are more menacing. Timon and Pumba are so much funnier! Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner are simply amazing in this movie. The jokes are updated, there are some unexpected moments and in-jokes. My wife and I were laughing so much and we went into the movie dreading it after the negative and lukewarm reviews. Super happy to hear James Earl Jones as Mufasa again. The man has the voice of a king. Chiwetel Ejiofor is great as Scar. My kiddo was on the edge of her seat and really engaged with the movie after saying she wasn’t that excited to see it.

I can close AA citi biz through chat now that my statement shows the bonus points correct? Thinking I’ll get DH a card since his surgery will knock out the spend.

I thought The Lion King was great! I have liked all of the Disney live action remakes so far, for whatever that's worth.

I almost PMed you last night to apologize. I noticed that and felt bad LOL! 🤣 (Just unlucky timing)

At least now you won’t have to touch them again for 6 months :rolleyes1:littleangel:
Yeah, I’m terrible at keeping those updated. I never get any clicks and it takes me forever to do on my iPad. I posted one then had to leave and I went back to edit Reddit wouldn’t even load so I gave up. Got it moved this morning!

My $5 for $25 gift card credit posted automatically. I’m waiting for a $60 credit for spending $500 on prime day through the app. My $1 no rush digital credit was also automatic.

On an unrelated note, we talked about travel options again for November and have come up with some different ideas. I’m on the fence about Japan because I’d like to try somewhere new. Since it’s so soon it would have to be a place we wouldn’t need a lot of planning to visit and it would only be for a week so we’ll have to save the UK for another time.

What I’m thinking right now is Iceland, a Disney cruise (hopefully with a Florida resident discount), or Hawaii. I would like to use chase points and I guess it would be okay even if we cashed points out. What do you guys think/recommend for a last minute trip? We’ve also never been to DL so that could be an option.

Last minute, all inclusive, not too expensive then I vote for FL resident cruise. The rates should be reasonable and unlike HI, you won't have to pay out the nose for food (well, unless you hit up Remy, lol), transportation (Uber to port), or things to do.

I'd love to hit Iceland to see the Northern Lights but you might need to live in FL a bit longer to want to visit cold weather 🤣

Do they do FL discounts on European cruises? I've only seen them on cruises leaving out of FL.

Right now, there are no FL resident rates for Europe BUT there is a general IGT for everyone on one of the cruises. Also, MTY if anyone wants to take me and use me for the discount😁 There were more a couple of weeks ago for FL, general, and MTY so it looks like the discounts are doing their job and filling up the ships.

The only thing that I can find is how to check digital credits for no rush shipping. The other bonus credits are just supposed to show up when you place your next order. Maybe if you go through the process of placing an order without actually finishing it you will see your total.

Which museums?
Ca Academy of Science
Aquarium of the Bay
Exploratorium
SFMOMA (but I think the littles would be zoned out)

We'll have to visit again because I want to do Muir, Land's End, Fortune Cookie Factory.

We may have to fit in a visit to Amoeba and at least drive through The Castro and Haight Ashbury.

Ok mine didn't post automatically, and I did two different gc offers that day! I need to go over my screenshots and read carefully. Did you just see them taken off your cart on your next order? I only got a $10 credit (supposedly) for using the assistant app,and was told I didn't qualify for the first time app user bonus.... however I got the $15 amaozon photos credit (which I got via email)
