Everyone told me how hot and humid Florida would be but my parents in Iowa are having hotter weather lol.
FL is hot and humid...but honestly, so is Iowa...FL is just a lot more desirable lol.. Reminds me of how when we first moved to CO. The phone calls in the winter were nonstop..."are you guys snowed in?" And my answer, "um, no, we're outside in tee shirts". People ski in their swimsuits here. Don't understand?? Ya, it's just a completely different climate :p

OKay y'all....this is a bonfide emergency! I cannot find my PP card but I will be at the airport in the morning seeing my sweet ds10 off for two weeks in TX with grands...can I use a digital card?? What are my options??

Churning success: for the second year in a row I’ve been able to book a trip to celebrate my BFF’s birthday in Palm Springs!!! So. Excited. I love my hobbies!
My moms in an assisted living in Palm Desert. I'm using my 250 aspire resort credit to stay at the Waldorf La Quinta next month. The rate was only 124.00 a night......I know August in Palm Springs..:scared1: It's worse than Florida in August. After looking through all the resorts that were available I couldn't find anything that would work over the next year. I might as well as use it to visit Mom. I'll drag one of my teens along to eat with me. One thing they have in Palm Springs is great restaurants.

The app (also the website) will tell you if they accept the digital PP. If under lounge facilities Digital Card Accepted is not listed for where you want to go call the credit card issuer. Chase used to have a policy they would reimburse two PP uses but I think it’s changes to one and I don’t know if it applies to PP restaurants. Fwiw some restaurants, like Timberline, go list that they take the Digital Card.

Timberline says they accept the digital card. And I am using the Amex plat PP. Does that change things...?

But it’s a dry heat out here ;) Give me 115 and dry any day over 90, humid, and a chance of T-storms!

If you’re looking for stuff to entertain you and/or a teen in that area TPG actually had a good write up of things to do in Palm Springs.

I can park, go into Aldi, grab a couple items and pay, all in less time than just finding a parking spot at Costco nearest me. Now the Costco near where I work, parking lot always half empty.

Silly question but does it make any difference if you use an already open NewEgg account? Or just make a new one? My dad has an old account I am able to log in to (even though my dad passed away 6 years ago, guess they don’t close old accounts)

So you apply and put in the cc info, then they call you to verify info?
The phone call is just so you can get online access to your account. But yes, put the credit card info in when opening the account. The credit card in not brought up on the phone call.

Thanks. My parents had a condo there when I was a kid and they ended up building a house and retiring there. I love the place. If I ever move back to Cali that would be my spot. October to May is awesome.

Yes, my acct was new so maybe that's why I had the call. DH has an acct, but I don't have his password handy and he wasn't listening to me. I wasn't going to wait on him.

The Lily's brand is my fav. They are stevia sweetened but they do not taste like stevia at all!

ETA: We use PB2. Good stuff!

Thank you. We're pretty sensitive to tasting Stevia but it may be worth a try. We've all been trying to eat healthily this summer, and this place had so many things I've been wanting to try. :)

I asked my DD and she says she is almost (but not 100% positive) that she used the digital PP at Timberline last month. It does sound like something she would do (whereas I'm more the type to want the actual card) so I hope you'll be able to use the digital pass tomorrow. Hope this helps.

Iowa gets very humid in the summers but a lot of people don’t expect that. The problem with Iowa is the temperature changes drastically in a short amount of time. I’ve already gotten used to the 90 degrees with humidity here because it gets to that temp every day. Having a pool obviously helps too lol

How long does it take CIP to arrive if not expedited? Approved 7/10 and still not here. I need to place an order by tomorrow morning. Ugh.

hmmm... looks like BBP is gonna have a twin brother... BBC!

So, I just got my Serve card and tried to load it at Rite-Aid. The cashier said the screen told him to “advise customer that gift cards are not accepted for prepaid cards and that cash is the only acceptable payment”. Is this just a rite-aid thing? Should I try Walmart? I thought rite-aid would work since it was advertised on the serve website but maybe not?

The quotes post is from my first attempt to load my Serve card. Didn’t properly research and tried at a Rite Aid. Tonight I went to Walmart. I ended up at two different registers with a total of three people trying to help, one being a manager. No matter how many times we tried, every time I swiped the Serve card it would immediately go to a “load” amount of 1 cent. They could not override it or do anything to make it load the $200 that I wanted. They told me it was probably a technical error on AMEX’s end. Anyone else ever experience this?

I grew up with heat and humidity so it doesn't take me long to adjust back ;-)

Here is a question for the experts. Keeping in mind that I don't plan to apply for another card for a couple months (I know... I know... I can only meet one MSR at a time!!!):

Credit Karma ever so helpfully is telling me that they think they can save me money on my motorcycle loan. It would save me roughly $40 a month for an overall $5 more, total, than I'm paying now.

1- has anyone ever done one of these "as recommended" by Credit Karma?
2- do you think I'm better off overall seeking out my own "better deal"?
3- will this "pull" on my credit (by applying for ANY loan right now) negatively impact future credit card applications, do you think?

Anything else I'm missing? I could use the extra $40 a month but it's not going to kill me if I don't have it.
