I felt that it did and am glad there’s a series that continues their story. I listened while driving around for work so I wasn’t compelled to do anything but listen. That may be a factor. Then again, I’m one of those people who enjoys the character development unfolding and the layers and connections from one book to the next. I think what I most appreciated was the feeling of being there and knowing these people. That takes time and I like how the author took the time to invoke that feeling. But we all have different preferences. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series coming out.

I didn't realize there are still more books coming out. My own misconceptions probably hindered it. I didn't realize it was a planned out series. So when I say I thought it would stand on it's own I mean I thought most things would be explained in the first book. I guess I just wanted more time travel haha. Plus the ads for the show didn't help because they made it sound like the story takes place in 2 different times and that was only minimally true so far. I might try the second one and see if I can get through it faster. Maybe I'll try the audio book while I train for Wine & Dine.

amazon decided to pull all their amazon cards off the internet. you will not be able to find anyone selling them except for one site.
best to buy from staples right now. 5x with CIC, Dosh and ebates both will trigger.
I tried to buy one yesterday on staples.com and there weren’t any so I ended up getting a Disney gc. We don’t have a CIC. I’m hoping tomorrow they’ll be back online since prime day will be over

Need help with refund on a CIP after MSR was met and all points transferred out. Due to the fiasco that is Woodstock 50, the owner of the B&B has kindly agreed to drop the price of my prepaid room (since I paid a premium for a concert that is not happening). So what to do with the credit? I have gotten refund checks on personal cards, but not sure what happens with a biz card. I am currently working on the MSR on his CIP2. Does Chase care that it was a 3X travel charge so I had bonus URs on the charge?

I would just spend on that card to use the credit, especially if that amount was from the original MSR. If it wasn't part of the MSR you can transfer the refund to another card via secure message.

Applied and got instant approval for P2 on a Capital one venture card. This is the card I settled on as an Arrival+ alternative. After he was approved they had me put his phone number in to verify his identity, which I did, but it didn’t work to verify. It said when he got his card he’d have to call to verify ID. Boo. Not sure why it wouldn’t accept his phone number. Maybe because the phone is issued to him by his employer? But he uses it as his personal phone, so I didn’t have any other options for what to put for phone number.

I got an email offer today for 50k MR bonus for $2k spend on an Amex gold card. I’ve been waiting until the end of the year to apply for the Amex plat (if I can get the 100k offer, or maybe 75k), but it seems like Amex loves me NOW. They also recently raised the credit limit on my BCP. With the airline credit in flux, I’m really tempted to check and see if I can get the 100k or 75k now.

I was doing so well with Prime day until just now. I placed my order for my wireless charger with some household cleaning items to hit $60 Amex offer. As I was browsing, I noticed some other great deals on other cleaning supplies. Placed 3 more orders 😂 At least I have spent less than $100 between all the orders.

That's along the lines of what I was thinking. I did spend somewhat over the $5000 MSR, but the refund may drop it under that. I'm sure I can come up with some more spend eventually. Don't want Chase mad at me!

Notification from Credit Karma that both reporting bureaus have me at over 800 now. Thank you all! :)
I’ve never been over 800 lol.

ETA: since you mentioned it I decided I’d look at mine and it went up 24 points this month! I’ve never seen it go up or down that much in a month

Mine Karma is up a point on both (811/807), but pretty much steady for last 6 months (give or take a half dozen points).

Does "changing" from Disney Premier to the non fee Disney Visa count as applying for a new card?
Nope! A product change does not count. Great move to avoid the fee done here ALL the time :)

It may even be beneficial to upgrade sometimes in order to get more rewards or a referral. For example, upgrading from a CIC to a CIP for the opportunity to refer to CIPs for 20,000 URs!
And sometimes you get upgrade offers on the lower prod. I had the Disney Premier, got the bonus, downgraded and maybe 8 months later, Chase sent me an offer to upgrade my no fee Disney Visa back to Premier for $100. Minus the $49 AF, I made $51. I have also upgraded my no fee Hilton Amex to Ascend, then Aspire for bonus points both times.
I’ve never been over 800 lol.
You’ll get there. I don’t think it’s that uncommon on this thread, but in real life, only about 20% of people have scores over 800. When we got our last mortgage, the mortgage banker commented that he’d never had customers where both husband and wife had scores over 800.

Thanks again everyone for the Chicago recommendations! I accidentally found Calder’s Flamingo and FaceTimed DS so he could see it, hit Giordano’s for deep dish pizza (have to say I was not a fan, sauce belongs under the cheese), then we hit Buckingham Fountain and the “Bean.” I have to say, I had no idea we were so close to the Willis Tower when we left the pizza place. Tomorrow night we are heading to Chicago Cut. I did request a patio table so we could overlook the river.418052418053418054

Were you ever charged your $49 AF? I tried waiting to let the credit cover it, but it never posted so I used the $100. lol

Hi everyone! Been awhile since I posted. School got out and being home with a 7, 6 and 1 year old all day doesn’t fair well with being able to sit and scroll disboards! 🤪

Anyway, we just returned from a 10 day camping trip to Southern Utah. Flights, rental car, couple nights hotel including the Mirage in Vegas all paid for with points! It was amazing and for any outdoor enthusiasts that haven’t been to southern Utah...GO! We’ve traveled all over the West and this has been one of the most beautiful in my opinion. So thank you all for the tips and help!

Anyway, I’m ready to start meeting another minimum spend and I need your opinions on which card. I’m well under 5/24 so that isn’t an issue. I’m deciding between CSP or CSR. The CSP has the 60,000 signup bonus and my DH could refer me so we would get 70,000 pts with that one. But, I kinda want the CSR for the 1.5 redemption points. But is still just 50,000 sign up points right? I’m assuming the modified double-dip is still an option, BUT I really don’t know if I could meet that kind of a minimum spend. I’m open to suggestions but these are the two main ones I’m looking at!
If your not ready to get a CIP i would do the MDD. I just funded a bank account with Great Southern Bank thanks to @alryan and it was super easy 5k msr done. I live in MA so nowhere close to them!
Not yet. It may take me until Thursday. I planned on going grocery shopping today but why not just eat out lol
Haha! I hear ya! May pop in tomorrow but I don’t have any MCGCs on me. Where do you get yours from grocery store or giftcard dot com?
I chatted with Amex, if you added the offer it is still attached. They can check if you want to confirm. They hope to have this whole IT issue fixed as soon as possible.
phew. Seems like lately what AMEX giveth AMEX taketh away

I did the same thing as you, made one charge to get the credit and waited for the annual fee. I think I upgraded in April/May, got a letter in the mail that the annual fee would be charged in July. Never was, I ended up having to close the account to move credit to upgrade to CSR so never paid the annual fee.

Nice! Great way to avoid the AF.

Maybe I've also avoided it. Probably wishful thinking. lol
