*** Yay May! OFFICIAL MAY 2020 THREAD!!! Flowers are starting to bloom! ***

Hello everyone! My husband and I are booked in for May 11th to May 22nd at Port Orleans French Quarter 😁 I'm so excited, it's my first time going to WDW! We have done DLP (as we're in the UK) and DLC as part of our honeymoon last year but I have a feeling this will blow my mind!!!

Can't wait to get started planning properly and getting to know everyone here 😊

Welcome! So cool that it's going to be your first time there. I have a feeling you're going to love it :D

It’s official!! I booked a room at Pop Century for May 13-17, 2020!! A few days after Mother’s Day, so we are making it a Mother’s Day trip. We are going to Epcot Flower & Garden Festival (for the first time) as well as Magic Kingdom. I will be traveling with my mother who has not been to Disney World in over 20 years now. It will be just the two of us, I’m very excited. Also, this will be our first time ever staying at a Disney World resort. Let the countdown begin!

Thank you!! I'm so excited even though we are 10 months off. My job is literally to be a planner too so I feel in my element :rotfl:

Im following this board. I think i talked my husband into a May 2020 trip probably staying at POR or BW. Not sure of exact dates as the flight schedule hasnt come out yet. Planning just for him I and our 3 year old son. We just got back from 8 days over the 4th of july with a party of 10 and he said hell never do that again but at least he will go again

Oh no, that is the trip I am planning for May2020...party of 9! My saving grace is everyone is leaving the planning up to me. Perfect for me!

We've stayed POR, and loved it! A very chill resort after all of the excitement at the parks. Also the best quick service we have had on resort!

So we have done large parties before but this time there were several factors that made the trip more difficult stressful. I used to stay at POR back when it was dixie landings as a child. I have such fon

I wanted to pick a time that was less busy and hot then the 4th of July. But still warm enough to swim. I like going in September but September 2020 is too far away lol. So thats how i settled on May. Also bc of the outdoor kitchen's during epcot flower and garden festival. I Hope the love bugs aren't the problem. I wish I could pick the exact time now but will have to wait till allegiant releases their may booking.

I think early May (when I'm going) is when the love bugs are around. If you go later half, you probably miss them?

Regardless, if they are there, what can I do? I'll just swat them away. :)

Does anyone think ratatouille and or beauty and the beast sing along will be open in may 2020. Mickey and minnie's runawa train has to be right ??

MMRR got pushed back into "spring 2020" according to the most recent reports. I'd say it's still likely to be open by May, but I'm always wary when I hear of delays because usually when there's one, there's more.

Ratatouille on the other hand is allegedly "ahead of schedule" but I think it'll be cutting it close for it to be open by May. I sure hope so, though.

I haven't heard a lot of recent updates on the Beauty & the Beast Sing Along ... a quick Google search has a few sites listing it as "2019" but a lot of the articles go back to last November. Hopefully we'll know more (about all of these) after D23

Supposedly....Rat should be open April 2020, MMRR May 2020.

I have my doubts on MMRR since they are trying so hard to get Rise of The Resistance open, they probably stopped working on that ride.

Bums me out because MMRR is actually what I was looking forward to the most. :(

We would also be really interested in MMRR. Although once it opens, it's destined to be Tier 1 and then it'll be just another ride for us to prioritize for what gets the FP. :(

Anyone plan to do any after dark events?

If Animal Kingdom has one (they did this past May), we will definitely be purchasing tickets for that! I don't think we would do another. Although if DHS does one, it may be the best way to get on all their rides. :)

I have to say, I thought more people would be booked for May by now! I usually travel in October and we are all chatting 14 months out!
