Rise of The Resistance Opening?

Well dang it! I was hoping Disneyland's would be open for my October trip. Oh well at least my kids won't be with me!!!! :lmao:
We hadn’t planned for this, but we will be there December 6th-December 14th and I guess we will be right in the middle of it. We are big SW fans so we are excited that both will be opened. We had planned on two mornings and two different evenings at DHS. Guess the mornings will be early starts

Epcot won’t be much better in December 2020 either though.
Won't the changes to the entrance plaza be completed by then? Of course, Spaceship Earth will most likely be closed by then.

Pop Warner is that week so rooms are already in short supply, which means don't expect any discounts then...

The entrance probably will be done but the entirety of Future World won’t be. Epcot won’t be all completed until 2022.

What luck! We scheduled a family DVC vacation on December 1-7 at BWV!!!! We booked EXACTLY on Jan 1, 2019 for a 2BR!! MAYBE we will get a "preview"/"soft opening" day before the 5th!! WOO HOO! I am stoked!!

As an aside note, I bet people who booked who are now cancelling could "sell" their week or whatever for a "Primo" price" as people would LOVE to be down there for that... Probably could rent for $3-5000 for the week!!!! Or more!

The interesting thing about the Dec. 5th date is there has been little to no availability for hotels around that time for quite a while. I wonder how that will play out.
We're currently booked for that week and I've continued to watch availability just in case we decide to switch resorts. As of a few weeks ago there was literally nothing available. Then a couple options opened up. Last week several more opened and between when I checked this morning and after the announcement there were even more options available. So while there may be folks that try to move their dates to take advantage of the opening, I believe there might also be those who move their trip from that week to avoid the expected craziness.

I just looked too and noticed the availability! I guess people have been cancelling already!

Omg, everyone who was planning to go in September should definitely postpone their trips to December now. Please, spread the news. September is not the time to go! December is better! *Prays this news will save the crowds on my September trip lmao*

Right. I want to see some of that Disneyland emptiness at WDW in September!!!

I was really hoping it would open later, but since GE messed up my September trip I should not be surprised it is messing up December as well. Now I don’t know what to do about January. I usually enjoy going to the parks in cooler weather but I have no desire to be packed in like a sardine.

I still see there being a net gain in bookings. I was still holding out hope for Free Dining offered through arrival on Dec 22/23 like previous years. That is even less unlikely to happen now.

I am so happy to hear that!
I have a trip planned at the end of February but was hoping it would not open right before our trip... fingers crossed that the hype will have decreased a little by then!

If that greedy miser Bob Chapek should of open that ride in the first place, none of this entertainment cuts would have happened. 😡

We will be there December 8-13. Guess we got very lucky. Can’t wait to ride it might try the extra extra magic hours, if they are still doing it then. Hope they still are.

You jest, but if I was booked for September, I definitely would. I wouldn't want to miss out.

I personally think they have made WDW all hands on deck because they know by opening this before christmas and near the christmas holiday, they will draw even more people into these already extremely packed parks during that time. Makes complete sense from a business side, they know that there will be way more people willing to come to WDW then DL during the holidays so why not get this up and going. Especially since supposedly the DL version is not going as planned for them, I may be wrong but it makes sense.

I agree. There are many more on-site resort rooms at WDW that need to be filled vs. DL.
