Kiddo woke me up again because “it’s too hot.” It’s 58° d̶e̶g̶r̶e̶e̶s̶ outside!
Does she ever wake your wife up or just always you? My kids always have woken me rather than my dh and one of my dd’s woke me nightly til she was 8yo. Those years were so many sleepless nights 😴

Okay I need someone to make the decision for me because I can't decide. We have 41k points to spend. Here are our options for a Hilton resort:
  1. Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista
    • 38k 1 King Bed
  2. Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace
    • 41k Resort View, 1 King Bed
  3. Doubletree Suites by Hilton Orlando
    • 37k 1 Queen
    • 40k 1 Bedroom Suite, Pool View, 2 Queens with sofabed
    • 40k 1 Bedroom Suite, 1 King Bed, amenities delivered to room (whatever that means)
Reviews seem mixed on all three so I just can't decide. The Doubletree has the most options, but it's a further walk.

I've stayed at #1 and it was okay, just kind of blah and the time share person was in the lobby all the time. Did it through priceline for about $68.

Do you get free breakfast as a perk? With those choices, that would be something I would value.

And doesn't Doubletree do cookies? I might pick them for that!

I think #1 is probably the closest walk to Disney Springs although Buena Vista Palace is across from Saratoga if you had plans to visit or eat there. Still a nice hike in the hot weather.

Same here. I never go to Starbucks anymore. I think they just send us stuff they know we don't want. Same with Amex and the BA miles - we used it last year so now we get nothing.

I used the Starbucks offers to load cards at Xmas as one daughter does go there fairly often. The rest of us are once in a blue moon users. After Xmas I got 5% offers and let them expire. Since then I've been getting 10% offers.

It takes alot less UR that HH points b/c the UR are more valuable. If you are booking a standard room, I'd go with the hilton points and save the URs, esp if you can take advantage of 5th night free. HH points ressies don't have to pay resort fees or taxes either, if you need to take that into account.

@CyndiLouWho - what she said. Unless you are trying to build a ton of Hilton points for something else, spend them before your ultimate rewards.

We do get free breakfast since we’re gold members. I’m not sure which hotel has the best breakfast.

Our only plan is to head to Disney springs so the closest to that would be the best. We’ll have our car so we can always drive if we have to

ok so trying to figure out what I should do next. I need to be able to apply for the swa cp for 20-21

09/17 CIP (closed)
11/17 CSR
11/17 CSP PC to Freedom
08/18 CIC
10/18 Freedom
02/19 CIP
05/19 CIP
05/19 AA biz citi

DH
02/18 CIP
07/18 SW biz
10/18 CSP
12/18 SPG lux
02/19 CIU
06/19 SW priority

So I can refer DH to the CIP on 9-5 to be safe since his last card was 6/4. Do I self refer for CIP 4 on 5/14 or do I wait till 9-? after DH gets his CIP to refer me for CIP 4? then that will put me at 12? to apply for SW biz. Then when should I apply for the SW priority to get the CP?

in the meantime any recommendations for a non chase card? have about a week and then I'll meet the spend on the SW card so would like to apply this week for a new card.

How soon in 2020 do you need the SW CP?.....
if you have travel planned in the first say 3 months of the year..I wouldn’t apply for another CIP now since you may risk the SW application not being approved in 12/19...so that pushes back getting the CP
if you don’t need the CP until later in the year...I’d risk it and apply for the CIP 8/19

There really is no way to know...the bonus prior to the 3x was 15,000 URs after a $500 spend...personally I liked that offer better
Thank you. I know there are better offers. Getting this card for DH who is reluctant to use credit cards. 3x for up to $20,000 in purchases for a year will earn us more points than him randomly using any card and thus using the "wrong" card. We are not churners and earn and burn points slowly. His CSP is one year old today. I don't want to pay the fee so I am going to get him the CFU and in a few days, cancel the CSP.

Another question - I just lowered the CL on one of his other Chase cards. Should I wait before applying for the CFU?

DoC is reporting the Chase Marriott Premier has a targeted offer to upgrader to the Plus and receive 2 up to 35k free night certificates after spending $3k. I checked DH's card and his offer is one 35k free night certificate after making a purchase. Thinking he might want to take that offer since we could make a very small purchase and have one another night to add to his current 35k cert for a free weekend getaway.

ETA: Just took the upgrade offer. It's only $10 more and with a $2 purchase, we get a free night that I am sure we can make use of.

For the Chase and AmEx Starbucks offers, can I just make a re-load purchase via the Starbucks app to trigger the offer or do I need to go into the store?

How is his Chase CL to household income....if under 50% he should be ok....

I had to google and watch it. I don’t see the big deal, it’s not complicated and fairly close to what I do. Won’t save me any space. I have a crappy triangular cabinet, so I’m always looking for some magic way to fold that will help me fit more towels
hmmmm interesting. IDK but I used to just fold in quarters and stack...made a mess when pulling them out (my family) now they're in small thirds (sort of) and lined up side by side which gives me a ton more room in my tiny towel/bathroom closet. And all the other clothes in the house.... I can't get over how neat and organized the drawers are now

UPS - interesting! Left Greensboro, sent back to Greensboro and is in Maryland this morning. Not sure why they sent it to Jackson, MS?? Maybe because I chose free shipping and will wait and won't sign up for Prime? Prime would have gotten it to me on Monday. Thursday is okay with me - for free.
