The ABCs of An EPIC Girls' Trip! May, 2019-Q is for: Quietly Sending this Trip Report off Into an Internet Sunset (8/25)

Sunshine Seasons is very rarely on my radar. Back in 2010, I ate a QS lunch of stir fry here and is was...ok. Nothing amazing. I'm usually there for the Festivals so head straight to the kiosks for filling up. I DO however love their strawberry shortcake and would go out of my way if the timing was right to get that. Not quiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite as good as Kringla Rice Cream, but tasty nonetheless. Having said all of that, the timing was right on this particular day because we weren't scheduled on our tour to eat for quite some time and and I hadn't had breakfast. Voila! We picked well and it

We use to love the rotisserie chicken here & the pork but I'm not sure if they still have them. I had the boring stir fry once too and never again. I do love the strawberry shortcake. Might grab some breakfast if we do rider swap for Soarin'.

Thanks for inviting me along. I love your bracelet. It's perfect for you

Always great to have you, Vanessa! Thank you! I like to put that on as I set out on my travels, but most especially at AK. I lost it a couple years back and loved it so much I went online and searched (and searched and searched and searched) until I found a repacement. I was elated to have found it again!

I'm looking forward to hearing about this. Gotta get me a game plan for our next trip.

It was... not fun. Yes, it got my on FoP, but not without a fair amount of stress.

Lovely photo and I adore you dress. It just screams AK.

Thanks!! I picked it up at a local street fair expressly with AK in mind. I guess it worked!

Beautiful! Love all the different colors.

And now I'm caught up on your report.

I just love all the birds at AK! So pretty!

The rotisserie chicken that I DO still like is at Cosmic Ray's. But, then again, I'm not one that would go out of my way to get that anywhere when my local Safeway's is pretty decent. Let me know if you end up there at SS for something and if you liked it!

I lost it a couple years back and loved it so much I went online and searched (and searched and searched and searched) until I found a repacement. I was elated to have found it again!

So glad you found a replacement. I love bracelets, my eyes are always drawn to them when I pass by a jewelry section but I have a hard time wearing them.

It was... not fun. Yes, it got my on FoP, but not without a fair amount of stress.

Oooohhh lots of foreshadowing.

Let me know if you end up there at SS for something and if you liked it!

We have 2 mornings in Epcot but one will be breakfast in Norway. Hopefully on the other morning we will get a chance to check out SS for some morning grub. With all the closures in FW there won't be much else to do before WS opens.

(Frozen Chai Latte for $5.69 at Royal Anandapur Tea Company- one of life's greatest treasures)

For $5.69, it better have a treasure in it.

(Like who came up with 81.4 pounds being a max weight for a Sherpa? I have a hard time carrying 10 pounds of groceries up my 3 flights up stairs. And apparently, I need to find an "Expedition Member" who can be responsible my health and safety.)

Oh, that's easy. They just kept loading up a Sherpa until the poor guy passed out and collapsed. Then they weighed the packages he had on him and backed it off a pound or two.

:rotfl2: Nicely done! Can I get you a newspaper or anything?

There were plenty of warnings on my trek along the way informing me of how I'd be able to identify signs of him should there be some: footprint shapes, fur samples, scratch marks, and ChunkyDumps. (No, really trust me; it's all there in the queue.)

Just....watch your step.

Thank Goodness! I was dying for a Slurpee; I hear the yellow ones are delicious!

Don't worry, they're lemon!

I present to you, the most expensive 3 minutes on the planet:

Man, I love that ride. Nice photos.

Can someone tell me what that cable or rope or whatever it is hanging there is supposed to be?

That was the rescue attempt. Didn't go well.

If Yeti is doo-ing it, you can too!

And here I thought he'd do it in the woods.

She had texted me earlier telling me I'd left a battery in the room (story of my life) and she'd bring it to me.

Well, at least it wasn't your camera this time.

If you'll remember, my phone took a swim later on this trip, and I lost an entire 2 1/2 days of photos, so am working at a massive handicap in presenting much in the way of photos for you.

Ugh.

There is a major one about 25 minutes away... sadly, it's happening smack dab in the middle of my Sept trip. Ah well, next year! I hope the Red Arrows come back again!
That'd be cool to see. The Red Arrows are very similar to our Snowbirds.

Red Arrows:

the mostly untamed (but sorta cleverly manicured) landscapes
"Do you have any idea how hard we worked to keep it untamed????" Said a CM, somewhere.
Well, okay, it’s actually the siren song of 8 Spoons Mac and Cheese,
::yes:: I just extolled the virtues of that in my TR not long ago.
Here, take my hand, and let’s be off to the High Himalayas!
I remember that bracelet. You've worn it before.
I first took part in a death-defying stampede to the mythical land of Pandora
 I'm sure you did!
colorful shops offering all of life’s necessities,
That is not a Coke.
(Like who came up with 81.4 pounds being a max weight for a Sherpa?
Probably an 82 pound Sherpa.
I need to find an "Expedition Member" who can be responsible my health and safety.)
I dunno… they'll only give you one "shoe" (according to the sign).
First stop, because I was feeling cute ( :rolleyes2 )
And carrying it off marvellously.
I did something I NEVER do... stopped for some PP pix.
I know why. Because you can now. I found myself taking them. Where before I took none.
I had loads of time to waste time pretending to be a glamour girl.
Pretending, nothing. Succeeding, yes.
Then I had a brilliant idea and turned this into something actually worthwhile just for kicks and giggles.
:lmao:
Taking plenty of time to stop and admire random flowers,
Nice shot. :)
ChunkyDumps. (No, really trust me; it's all there in the queue.)
I believe you! No sh*t!
I took this photo to prove..... absolutely nothing. But for the sake of filling this chapter with riveting pictures of random bookshelves and only portions of what looks like a scale, there you have it.
This is awesome! I've never seen anything like it! Stupendous!!

What were we talking about again?
Now, in case you do run across a 7-11 that happens to be open at 17,600 ft.
… there'll be a Winnipeger at it. We just won Slurpee capitol of the world again. 20 straight years.
ummm... remember Boys and Girls, they are used to hypoxia, you are not. High altitude card games with a Sherpa are probably not a good idea.)
Thanks for the tip.
I hear nurses play lots of cards at altitude.

I hear the yellow ones are delicious!
Mountain Dew! Yummy!
Can someone tell me what that cable or rope or whatever it is hanging there is supposed to be?
It's if you get flung from your car you have something to grab at before plummeting to your death.
Disney thinks of everything.
Careening along, having the time of my life, I came across Mr. ChunkyDump himself. I told you, Folks, it's catching on like wildfire, and you too can join the latest craze by taking a squat and joining the ranks of the CoolCats by posting it here. If Yeti is doo-ing it, you can too!
You're getting everyone involved in this new craze.
Yeti and I parted on amiable terms; really, he's just a misunderstood overgrown teddybear.
Tell me that after you've gotten a hug from him.
She had texted me earlier telling me I'd left a battery in the room (story of my life) and she'd bring it to me.
Been there. Done that. Except it was a charger. And I didn't discover it until I was on my next trip.
I got to enjoy the antics of Kevin for a while.
::yes:: She's fun, isn't she? :)
(no card games for these RNs!),
Whoopsie! My bad!
and we stopped for a quick photo together:
You guys look very pretty. :)
made the trek out to the buses, and experienced the temperatures of 17,600 ft all over again.
 Sorry!

So glad you found a replacement. I love bracelets, my eyes are always drawn to them when I pass by a jewelry section but I have a hard time wearing them.

Me too!! I like necklaces too!

Oooohhh lots of foreshadowing.

Hopefully I'll get there soon!

We have 2 mornings in Epcot but one will be breakfast in Norway. Hopefully on the other morning we will get a chance to check out SS for some morning grub. With all the closures in FW there won't be much else to do before WS opens.

There's no much else for sure. $ixbucks, I suppose would work.

For $5.69, it better have a treasure in it.

Is brain-freeze inducing coffee not treasure...?

Oh, that's easy. They just kept loading up a Sherpa until the poor guy passed out and collapsed. Then they weighed the packages he had on him and backed it off a pound or two.

Excellent methodology. Makes total sense.

:rotfl2: Nicely done! Can I get you a newspaper or anything?

Oh, you're kind! A little reading material is always helpful. And my phone has taken one (or two) too many toilet dunks.

Don't worry, they're lemon!

YAY!!!

Man, I love that ride. Nice photos.

Thanks! One of my favortes too.

That was the rescue attempt. Didn't go well.

:lmao:

And here I thought he'd do it in the woods.

That's why there is only a blurry picture of him. Darned tourons... always interrupting everything. <Can't a guy have any privacy?!>

Well, at least it wasn't your camera this time.

Or my underwear.

That'd be cool to see. The Red Arrows are very similar to our Snowbirds.

Red Arrows:

Nice! And I assume the letterings are the Royal Canadian Air Force and whatever that translates too in French on the other side??
I'd love to see EITHER of those squads fly!

"Do you have any idea how hard we worked to keep it untamed????" Said a CM, somewhere.

They say it a lot. HM, ToT, ... and now ToonTown at DLR. :rolleyes2
::yes:: I just extolled the virtues of that in my TR not long ago.

You did! Mmm!

I remember that bracelet. You've worn it before.

Yes, I sure have! And good memory!!

That is not a Coke.

Coke < Coffee!
Probably an 82 pound Sherpa.

:lmao:

I dunno… they'll only give you one "shoe" (according to the sign).

Well, considering I will never climb Everest and don't technically need one to climb my stairs, I think I'm safe.

I know why. Because you can now. I found myself taking them. Where before I took none.

This is correct, because free is good.

<Free with chocolate is better>

I believe you! No sh*t!

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

This is awesome! I've never seen anything like it! Stupendous!!

What were we talking about again?

You're welcome. Try the veal.

… there'll be a Winnipeger at it. We just won Slurpee capitol of the world again. 20 straight years.

That's because they pipe in the outside air all winter to run the machine. Practically free production.

Thanks for the tip.
I hear nurses play lots of cards at altitude.

Only poker at high altitudes. With all the gear covering our faces we can really do well.

It's if you get flung from your car you have something to grab at before plummeting to your death.
Disney thinks of everything.

OH, cool!! The perfect ride evacuation system!

You're getting everyone involved in this new craze.

Of course!!

Been there. Done that. Except it was a charger. And I didn't discover it until I was on my next trip.

Oh dear. Which reminds me, they STILL haven't sent it. Crap. I'll call again, and if I don't get it in a week or so, I'll have to go buy another.

You guys look very pretty. :)

Thanks!

Nice! And I assume the letterings are the Royal Canadian Air Force and whatever that translates too in French on the other side??
Yes it is. And... I had to look it up because the translation isn't exact!
RCAF should translate to FARC (Forces Armee Royale Canadienne)
but it's Aviation Royale Canadienne
I'd love to see EITHER of those squads fly!
::yes::

They say it a lot. HM, ToT, ... and now ToonTown at DLR. :rolleyes2
Hadn't heard that about ToonTown. Have heard it about Dinoland at AK.
Yes, I sure have! And good memory!!
Every now and then a synapse fires.
Coke < Coffee!
I remember learning about greater and lesser signs in school. A lot of kids had trouble with it. I see you do as well. Hang in there! You'll get it!
Just remember that the mouth always wants to eat the bigger one.
Well, considering I will never climb Everest and don't technically need one to climb my stairs, I think I'm safe.
Shoeless stair climbing. It's a thing.
This is correct, because free is good.

<Free with chocolate is better>
You're welcome. Try the veal.
<heads off to Biergarten>
That's because they pipe in the outside air all winter to run the machine. Practically free production.
Yep. And we can't have anything that's too much of a temperature difference otherwise it's too great a shock to the system. A slurpee is only mildly warmer.
Only poker at high altitudes. With all the gear covering our faces we can really do well.
Of course!
OH, cool!! The perfect ride evacuation system!
Please... Don't mention "perfect evacuation system"... I had an upset tummy this morning...
Oh dear. Which reminds me, they STILL haven't sent it. Crap. I'll call again, and if I don't get it in a week or so, I'll have to go buy another.
Disney?

Well, okay, it’s actually the siren song of 8 Spoons Mac and Cheese, or my latest new love affair with Satuli Bowls
Going to have to look these up...haven't had one (that I recall)

I find myself being drawn to find new ways to tickle my Inner Explorer at this park
Wait! You're ticklish on the inside too? Cool!

Here, take my hand, and let’s be off to the High Himalayas!
What have they been smoking?
Did you bring something for them from Oregon?

But that’s for another chapter on another day.

Glad you said something, because that sure doesn't look like Pandora or Africa.

(Frozen Chai Latte for $5.69 at Royal Anandapur Tea Company- one of life's greatest treasures)
Chai tea? I didn't used to like it, but it's grown on me.

Like who came up with 81.4 pounds being a max weight for a Sherpa?
Well obviously the Sherpas! The kept carrying more and more and finally said enough is enough. Surprised it took 'em that long.

First stop, because I was feeling cute
Did cute enjoy this?

Then I had a brilliant idea and turned this into something actually worthwhile just for kicks and giggles.

Hey! I know that person AND that pose.

I took this photo to prove..... absolutely nothing.
You succeeded...you proved nothing.

Now, in case you do run across a 7-11 that happens to be open at 17,600 ft.
Most of the ones around here are more like 17,600mm above sea level.

High altitude card games with a Sherpa are probably not a good idea.
High altitude card games with anyone probably isn't a good idea.

Can someone tell me what that cable or rope or whatever it is hanging there is supposed to be? I've never seen rope-y things alongside tracks before.
Pretty sure it's if the CMs have to climb the stairs or if they have to evacuate the ride. The stairs are pretty steep there. Additional safety.

If Yeti is doo-ing it, you can too!
Okay, fine...I know that's directed to me. I'll post it. <sigh>

She had texted me earlier telling me I'd left a battery in the room (story of my life
The story of your life is way more interesting than mine.

scaring the crap out of more than a few folks.
Guess the Disney cleanup crew really had a crappy day, eh?

I was relieved when Kelly made it back with all of her rupees intact (no card games for these RNs!), and we stopped for a quick photo together:

Good picture of two lovely ladies.
Hey! Watch out! There's a tree sneaking up on you!!!

Yes it is. And... I had to look it up because the translation isn't exact!
RCAF should translate to FARC (Forces Armee Royale Canadienne)
but it's Aviation Royale Canadienne

Well, yes! Of course.
Hadn't heard that about ToonTown. Have heard it about Dinoland at AK.

I was talking to the uncontrolled chaos of this:

https://www.google.com/search?q=vio....69i57j33l3.9350j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
I remember learning about greater and lesser signs in school. A lot of kids had trouble with it. I see you do as well. Hang in there! You'll get it!
Just remember that the mouth always wants to eat the bigger one.

Shush you!! I use them every single day...

ie. 10L/min O2 via FM applied to keep sats >95%.

Shoeless stair climbing. It's a thing.

Which makes me sound like Cinderella!

<heads off to Biergarten>

Mmm, spaetzle!!

Yep. And we can't have anything that's too much of a temperature difference otherwise it's too great a shock to the system. A slurpee is only mildly warmer.

And I pulled off a colossal fail today. It was free Slurpee day and I went and had a martinin instead.

Please... Don't mention "perfect evacuation system"... I had an upset tummy this morning...

Well poop. That doesn't sound pleasant at all.

No! I'd left it in Frenchglen, OR. FedEx delivers there ya know. In a stagecoach. ;)

Going to have to look these up...haven't had one (that I recall)

I love them! Lots of options with the base, protein and sauce. Mmm! And I find that the kids sizes are just right.

Wait! You're ticklish on the inside too? Cool!

It's a talent!

What have they been smoking?
Did you bring something for them from Oregon?

:smokin:

Glad you said something, because that sure doesn't look like Pandora or Africa.

Actually I was practicing for my next ABC Scavenger Hunt day. :)

Chai tea? I didn't used to like it, but it's grown on me.

I like it warm with milk too, but this is really like a shake!

Well obviously the Sherpas! The kept carrying more and more and finally said enough is enough. Surprised it took 'em that long.

Sounds.... Unionized to me.

Did cute enjoy this?

YES! Cute did.

Hey! I know that person AND that pose.

Most of the ones around here are more like 17,600mm above sea level.

HAHA! True!

High altitude card games with anyone probably isn't a good idea.

Hm, good point. Quick way to get frostbite.

Pretty sure it's if the CMs have to climb the stairs or if they have to evacuate the ride. The stairs are pretty steep there. Additional safety.

Plausible, but it's just hanging there in the middle of nowhere.

Okay, fine...I know that's directed to me. I'll post it. <sigh>

... waiting.
The story of your life is way more interesting than mine.

I highly (HIGHLY) doubt that.

Guess the Disney cleanup crew really had a crappy day, eh?

LOL!!

Good picture of two lovely ladies.
Hey! Watch out! There's a tree sneaking up on you!!!

Thanks!

This implies you know she is ticklish on the outside. Just what were you two up to?

Oh dear....

Some of you know that I have a dream of becoming a pilot someday and have gotten to the point of passing my Written FAA exam for single engine private pilot.

Wow, that's a really neat dream! I hope you get to fulfill it!

Thank you Su-Lynn and everyone else on the Tour who accomodated me and were willing to see this in exchange for 20 or so minutes of our day.

I'm glad you had us change the plans, it was really neat to see! However, I'm back to disliking the Blue Angels after they disturbed my sleep for days in a row.

They made 2 passes and the 2nd was, IMHO, more cool than the first. But, sadly, my lens that I had on, wasn't right for the shots I had hoped for. Here's the ONE I got of the fan-like formation:

It was more cool, and I was not prepared for the difference. I just sorta assumed they'd do the same thing again!

We also loaded up on a mighty fantastic breakfast from Sunshine Seasons. MMMmm!!

I should have done that! I could have used some food, and Soarin' just isn't my fav anymore.

IMG_0531-L.jpg

Wow, how stunning!

Eeek, love this!

Cute bracelet!

Pretty picture! one of my favorite PP locations.

Oh boy i was not prepared for this!! :rotfl2:
