Seriously, how does Uber not realize I never use their service and they offer me 50% off 10 rides this week?

Dd and I had the worst Uber driver last week going from our house to the airport. She was on her phone (twice) on the turnpike in torrential rain (literally looking down at her phone and not the road) and almost took the wrong exit twice (I had to stop her as we had a flight to catch). I have never not left a tip and also never left negative f/b. Can she leave me retaliatory negative f/b if I leave for her first?

I honestly think Uber isn't for her. Of all the rides we've done (and we've done many) she's the only one that was just awful. Not just the phone thing either -- she would be going 100mph on the turnpike, then slam on the brakes hard, then switch lanes without looking first and cut other cars off. But the phone thing really got to me since it's now against the law in Florida to be on your phone while driving.

Anyways not sure what kind of f/b to leave her. Probably not going to tip her. Just can't bring myself to reward her driving when I wasn't sure if we were going to make it to the airport without i) being killed or ii) maimed in an accident

Any data points for UCT tix counting as travel that can be erased on Arrival +? I think I remember someone saying it does (@wendow maybe?) but I could be wrong. There's dp on DoC saying it does but no link so not sure how current that is.

I was planning on using my remaining credit for offsetting our car rental charge coming up in a few weeks, but since DH is driving I think the rental requires a card in his name so that throws a wrench in that plan. So trying to think of alternatives now. I haven't bought our SW tix yet so that's a possibility if UCT counts.
Yes, we bought 4 tickets through UCT and erased the charges using bonuses from two arrival+ cards.

I definitely wouldn’t tip her. We’ve left honest feedback before, but we’ve never had someone that bad. I’m not sure if they’re allowed to leave negative feedback for you too.

I wouldn’t tip and I would leave the feedback plus reach out to Uber and say what happened. That’s not safe. I take lyft all the time and only had one bad driver take me to LAX the guy was awful and was clueless he missed the airport and then the sign that said airport return was to the left so I was like go left here and the guy goes right and gets back on the highway it added like 45 mins to our trip. I was so mad I messaged lyft and they gave me the ride for free. Also going to the Disneyland hotel a lyft driver didn’t know how to go so she dropped us off in some parking lot and we had to walk to the hotel. I was upset then too but I still tipped.

I need to apply for both cards in plenty of time to be able to meet the minimum requirements because if I do the one (80K) prior to 12/31, then the other one and it post in January, I am screwed for the companion correct?
You can apply prior to 12/31, but your bonus needs to post after 1/1 and you only have 90 days to meet a bonus. In other words, you can't apply for one now or it will post too soon. Also you only need 110k points for CP, so you don't have to do the highest MSR card, necessarily. I don't know what the current SUB/MSRs are, but just make sure you choose 2 that add up to 110k.
Also, sometimes chase does something weird, like with my DHs CIP statement closing only a few days after we got the card. So I'd not apply for either until 11/1, personally.
I would suggest app for a different card now, CIP would be my choice, and then SW #1 in nov, and SW#2 in Jan/Feb. Normally you'd want 90 days btwn those apps, but with CP, some people push it a bit.

Alaska was beautiful!! We were able to save $1800. on the cruise using UR points through CSR. Two free hotel nights in Seattle using Amex Spg points. One free hotel night in Boston using anniversary award certificate with Premier Plus. Two free Mint tickets one way on Jet Blue using Barclay's Jet Blue card. I'm still learning so I am sure I made some mistakes. We had a great trip and it feels good to be able to save some money by using the tricks and tips I learned on the board the past few years. I learn from the people who ask questions and the people who have the answers. Thank you everyone!! :worship:Time to start planning Hawaii :-)

Another DP of yes UCT works LOL. I have a UCT charge on mine waiting to be erased right now. Bonus finally credited this morning, so away it will go :-)

Absolutely leave feedback. She may have put me out on the side of the road because I would have given her feedback in progress. I'm pretty vocal if I'm frightened and would not have been able to continue to ride if someone was driving unsafely.

I am perpetually behind, so forgive me if this has already been covered. The most recent discussions I saw indicated that the SW gift card door was probably closed - and I had my new Platinum Amex $200 I was trying to use. I did see DPs that if you do a split tender purchase, and the part that is going on the Amex is under $100, the credit will work. So I did some seriously ridiculous SW purchases this weekend - split us into 2 parties, was using gift cards (from previous churning efforts), Luv Vouchers and my Amex. It blinked out on me a couple of times, so I had to re-enter all my info. Was kind of a pain. BUT this morning, the pieces I had charged on my Amex are credited, so my machinations saved me $198.76 on my pre-Christmas USO trip. Thank goodness for the internet :lovestruc

Flights weren't cheap, and I did have to pay about $400 out of pocket, but that isn't so bad for 4 non-stop round trip tix to Orlando around the holidays!

Dang, I need that! Headed to WDW on Friday. I spent a small fortune on Minnie vans last trip...just so convenient.
Yes! I miss the original pricing structure. I have had some iffy Lyfts before Minnie Van rolled out and have honestly only used the Minnie Van service in WDW since it debuted back in 2017. I feel much safer knowing I am being driven by a CM trained and employed by WDW. They also know where they are driving in regards to the WDW resort hotels which I have had a TON a Lyft drivers have no idea. I even got the one driver in the Minnie Van promo commercials that play on DME and the resort TV! That was an exciting day!! Lyft coupons also work on Minnie Vans so that can sometimes help a little.

DH's CiP MSR has been made and his pending URs are a lovely, lovely 85,349! He'll have almost 89K after the statement closes in 2 weeks so :cheer2:. We'll have enough URs to transfer to United for our flights to Copenhagen next summer for our cruise!

I'm also down $5600 of my Delta Reserve $6000 MSR (tuition!) so that's exciting. Nothing like an MSR to make me excited about bills.

I’m really struggling with this Spring Break trip and normally have stuff locked down by now but every time we decide on someplace, I am having issues with availablity. I guess I focused too much on our trips this year and didn’t plan enough for next year.

So no luck finding availability in NOLA during that time frame? Costa Rica sounds like a wonderful alternative!

I wouldn’t have known if @kidsfirsttrip hadn’t mentioned it. I did chat and my PP should be here in 10-14 days.
This card allows 10 PP visits/ 12 months. I have read a couple conflicting reports about if you are allowed to pay for guests. I was planning to call when card arrives.
Whoa.... I need to reevaluate my cards then..... I have a couple of trips in the next year but only one CSR and 3-4 travelers.... this might be worth the AF if I can use it in STL and FLL for the $28 credit at the restaurants.... are these useable for that? (B/c The CSR is only good for two passes/credits,right? Or smarter just to use the two credits amongst our family ? Like 4 of us order,$56 off bill, thats how it works right?

Can you tell me what date the transaction posted to his account that met the MSR? I am waiting for mine to go pending and wondering how much longer it will take.

We just used the CSR PP in STL and since we had 4 people (and only 1 PP), we were able to use the entire $56 and paid about $4 plus tip for our meal before our flight. Definitely a good deal! For that price, we didn't get any drinks or anything, but really enjoyed our dinner.
