Eek! Arriving in 3 days for a long weekend at GF!! Surprising my mom with a stay at her lifetime dream resort, don't know how much longer I'll be able to keep it a secret from her. I'm assuming she'll have to know once we check in at DME, but kinda hoping it can wait until we get dropped off there. If I don't spill it before then, that is.

Hope you have a great time :wizard:.

I leave Thursday morning! I’ll be at the Grand for 6 nights!!! I have SO much going through my head!

Have a great trip :cool1:.

Hi all! Does the Grand Floridian Christmas tree and gingerbread house usually come down immediately after January 1st? If some friends eat there on Jan. 3rd, is there a decent chance the tree would still be up?

Just popping in to say...Happy Birthday to the Grand Floridian! :cake: Which opened it's door 31 years ago today! So many changes some very grand and some truly not...lol...But it's still pretty grand!
I read that BBB will be opening it's door early in August...
Wonder when the new Mizner's will be opening ..we are not planning another GF stay until the fall..so will be keeping an eye out for opening date...
~And for all of you holiday visitors...CP packages are supposed to open for booking next week..July 3rd ...interesting tho that a full list of presenters still has not been released...

Hey Mickeynut and Wishes...:goodvibes...

CJK I believe that the holiday decorations begin to come down around the 3rd...but it's been a while since we have been there at the time of year...maybe with a bump to page one..some one who has will be able to answer..I think trishadono has been in the last few..and will be able to answer more accurately...

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a fabulous Friday! :hippie:

It was up on the 1st but not sure when down. I think the house comes down first because its quite the job!

Just like setting up the takedown dates will vary year to year.

The 3rd is on a Friday so hard to say......My guess the stuff up for the weekend but that s a guess based on other years.

Hi everyone! Our family just booked 6 rooms at the Grand Floridian in November 2019! I just can't believe it really. This is an extended family trip, mainly revolving around my aunt, her birthday, and a respite from the chemo she's been going through. She's been feeling well so we want to do the BIG trip.

I'll be honest, our preference was to stay at the Contemporary, but the there was no room available there. Never thought I'd ever be at the GF so never did a lot of research. I've been reading through this thread and there's a LOT of club level information that I guess will never pertain to me. I haven't seen much talk about how it is just being a regular room stayer.

So what I do know is that the CM who did our reservation today, put us on hold for quite awhile, to get our rooms linked together for when the time comes to assign rooms. He put in a "medical need" priority for my aunt so that hopefully she could at least be place very near her daughter's room.

One room in our party will be getting a theme park view and the rest are getting garden view rooms. The CM felt sure that we would at least be in the same section but definitely the Garden Views would be across the hall from the Theme Park View room.

Two people in our party will be in ECVs (elderly with joint issues). I realize that the outer buildings can be quite a distance from the monorail access. What is the worst case scenario on this? How bad could it be if it's raining and we need to get from the main building to the outer building?

How do you rate the counter service food option (Gasparilla Grill) for quick bites, tea, coffee, etc.

Just looking for info. In the meantime, I'm trying to work through 600+ thread pages!
Hopefully you will all get the same building and same floor! That would be the best to all be together.

If you look at the map the buildiings all have doors on the ends in addition to the more elaborate center entryways. You can go out an end and make a mad dash or scoot to the main building.

Watch the weather and have ponchos/umbrellas if needed. Luckily November is not a rainy month.

GG has good food but don't forget the pools. They have their own menu and sometimes more convenient.

Room service is nice too! A pot of coffee delivered with a continental breakfast isn't too pricey but makes for a fun morning.

Happy birthday to the Grand ❤️ Nice to see my Grand Groupies here!!! I’m finding it hard to navigate the boards lately, and find time to pop in. It’s crazy, when my kiddos were babies I feel like I lived on these boards for my sanity, and several of you have become family...thanks to our mutual love of the Grand and all things Disney!

I am struggling with the new layout. Hard for me to read lol.

Can the breakfast room service be ordered the night before to be delivered at a specific time? If not, how much time would you allow for ordering day-of?

You can push the button on your phone and order anytime for anytime I believe. I think it’s usually about 30mins to get my order from the mono resorts. (I’ve tried them all).

Lol one night dd and I got back from MK starving and ordered at 12:30am. She had eggs and I had a burger. They brought a table cloth and set up on the rolling table under the desk. That was fun !

My next resort stay is poly cl. However I couldn’t find any noon reservations on 9/1 except GVTR. So dd gets her scones lol.

We do enjoy wearing a dress to that and being all fancy. It’s so easy to get to from poly too!

This is a specific question, but we're trying to get our room request figured out and TP is making it so hard. Below is room 8339 according to TP (floor three, corner room in Boca Chica)413123

But TP says this is the room view for that room:
413124

Now this very clearly is not the corner room. This is the view we're looking for, which TP has marked as room 8345 (which on their map, is the farthest room "inwards" or away from the lake).

413126

Does anyone know if they just accidentally flip-flopped these photos, or do they have their room numbers off? I don't want to make a request for a view similar to 8345 if it's on the opposite side of the building we want to be on.

Hey guys! Anyone at GF yet? Would love to see the July activity calendar, if available. Thank you!

Sorry I can't answer your question, but just wanted to say in our experience the pictures, room type, amenities, etc of the Room Finder tool are very inaccurate. What type of room do you have booked?

Unfortunately this seems to make sense. We have a lagoon view booked in 2 weeks and requested Boca Chica. According to TP, about half the rooms on the 3rd floor are lagoon view, but seem to be MK view. We’ll see what happens but I’ve already warned my travel partners that this seems too good to be true.

Yeah this is what I'm learning!! We just have a garden view outer building booked, and were trying to get the closest to a lagoon/TP view with the standard room.
