Summer blackout days lifted for case members?

I’m sure. They already lifted a bunch of June earlier this month. As nice as the empty parks are for guests, it’s not sustainable. Next they’ll lift APs...

A minute ago, my daughter (who is working at Disneyland for the summer) sent us a text message saying that Disneyland has been un-blocked for employees for the entire summer, other than for July 4. But as @Ryan120420 noted, the "official calendar" still shows blockout dates in effect for the entire summer. I'm assuming the rumour is true, but who knows.

Zero doubt about this. That park is so deserted tonight Disney management should be freaked. They should be packed, racking in the dough- and they’re quieter than we’ve seen it in recent memory. Quiet to the point of embarrassment apparently if they’re going to use CMs to boost the attendance numbers...

Hopefully they will wait until after the holiday to unblock any of the passes! If anything I would like them to leave the block outs in place but let passholders bring people at a discounted rate.

Man I know it’s a totally different season and months down the road, but I would L O V E if the park was this empty during October!! Fingers crossed that Halloween being at DCA is a turn off for many :P

I’ll be there Sun - Thur (with a friend joining me Mon - Thur) which hopefully lines me up with the best chance for low crowds!

(Though I’ll trade it all for RoR to be open!)

I hate to sound negative but Halloween time is SO busy. I wouldn’t expect low crowds because it will just be disappointing. As an annual passholder, last year I stopped going (after a few visits to soak up the fun Halloweeen time stuff) because it was just too busy for me. But the Halloween decorations and treats are amazing! You will have a great visit no matter what, but I would recommend preparing for crowds. But maybe the Halloween party will be lower crowds than it is at DL!

I kinda know what I’m in for, this will be the fourth year in a row I’ve been down there around this time. (Sometime during the last two weeks of October). This year obviously will be different with Star Wars and DCA Halloween Party. Honestly week day crowds never seem terrible, especially since it’s right about when the weather starts to break and gets cooler. Still wouldn’t mind if everyone decided to go experience Star Wars during the summer, or skip showing up in October because of the party change :P

Same. I went once in late September, and then for my Halloween party. I found Halloween crowds to be unbearable, so I didn't bother going much.

Last year we went early May and then Oct 28th-Nov 2. May was a madhouse and super hot, Oct was actually not bad. The party was a little more crowded than we'd like (went on the 31st) but we still managed to do everything planned. We even found a great spot for the parade right when it started, we watched the fireworks from that same spot and could see the globe and Zero. Really wish we were going this year. Would love to see the party at DCA!

Sorry to add more rain to this parade but ROTR is rumored to open sometime in Sept so that should finally also bring the SW focused crowds.

CM blockout site is updated. Only blockout for next two weeks is July 4 for the main gate at Disneyland park. These are subject to change again and Disney can and will block the main gates and self admits I’d needed.

What’s main gate vs self admit? Do CMs get to bring family one way but not the other?

Self admit is the cm admitting themselves for admission. Main gate is for their 3 guests and/or souse/partner. There are then different levels of main gates depending upon what type of employee you are and those levels have annual limits to how many admits they get.

Could someone weigh in on how likely this will “pack the park”...? I’ll be watching today, of course, but we arrive Thursday and now wondering if our well-planned trip is shot? Do most CMs bring 3-4 guests regularly?
