Bought two resale contracts -- ends up being same Unit at SSR

So, just for fun, I was looking over our recorded deeds today and noticed something interest (to me, at least). We bought two resale contracts for SSR -- one in 2018 and one this year -- several months apart -- and from two completely different people.

I looked today and noticed that both of them are for a percentage interest in the same Unit ("87A"). (Which, doing some research, appears to be a collection of some dedicated BRs and a lockoff in the last section of The Paddock.)

I mean, not a big deal or anything -- but the chances of that happening have got to be pretty tiny, right?

When you mentioned 87A it sounded extremely familiar. So I looked up our documents, that’s ours too! We bought resale in March/April of this year.

I see people on here referring to same resort owners as neighbors, does this make us roomies?

I have my original contract, plus 3 add-ons, purchased 5/9/92, 04/21/93, 10/22/93 and 6/14/96, the 1992 and 1993 contracts are all deeded to bldg 14 at OKW, the 1996 contract is bldg 44.

Kind of shows that DVC was a new concept, and was still overcoming the traditional "timeshare" stigma.

I can see add-ons via Direct being more likely to have that happen (with the same Unit). But to have bought them resale from different people is what freaks me out a bit. :)

True. The two contracts must've originally been purchased about the same time. And that is an unusual coincidence in resale from two different owners.

I figure we ‘own’ about one square inch, probably in the closet, of each resort that we purchased :)
