Thanks! The thing that frustrates me is to be accused of doing this on a self-serving manner. People over there get angry at people for actually helping the community! That’s just crazy - everybody who takes time to post helpful comments and put effort in should be thanked! I think creating an opportunity for people to potentially give a fellow redditor 10k SW pts is a nice gesture. The only reason I can come up with for that tone is jealousy.

Or immaturity. Keep on posting, Banker! You are not the enemy and neither are the banks.

Does anyone have the Disney Visa? I have the regular (not premiere) and was wondering if I bought Annual Passes with them if I’d have 6 months to pay them off at 0% interest. I believe that is the deal with purchasing vacation packages with it but wasn’t sure about APs. I am NOT a Florida resident if that matters.

I never really use this card except for shopping at the Disney Store and flashing it for character meets at the parks, so I am clueless about it.

Thanks in advance!

Also if one were shopping for a Hyatt hotels card referral link, where might one go for that? Not 100% I’m going to pull the trigger yet but couldn’t remember where the referrals were...

@vanjust14 i think @wendow had issues with her AA car rental charging high fees? You might be better off blowing off the reservation and doing the car via Priceline or Costco
@wendow can you recap this when you have time? If I do the swan ressie with x I will need the car. Should I not use it?

ETA: Nevermind...saw you followed up already!

Yes! We were charged an additional $198 after dh turned in the car. After I sorted through all the charges, I realized that $66 of it was because my dh returned the car 32 mins into the next ‘day’. All the rest was extra taxes and fees that your AA points don’t cover.
Oh wow! Hmmnnn. I am used to Hertz allowing it to be turned in late, but DH won't be with me to use his status, so I need to make note not to do that.

Question: Do I have to sign up for a AAdvantage account and link it to my new AAdvantage cc or will one be automatically opened and linked along with my being approved for the cc card?

We won’t be able to pay for ours 100% with gcs because we’ll need it activated pretty soon after getting back. Looks like I need to pay attention to gc deals when we get back. Does Disney allow a payment plan for the AP?
Uni allows a payment plan too. I only know b/c it gets billed to my cc every month for DD's AP there.

As far as I have read, only vacation packages qualify for the 0%.

We’re finally at Tokyo Disney!! We went to their downtown Disney (ikspiari) and spent a pretty penny on merch. I’m not even sorry

I am wondering if you will have problems getting the umbrellas back home. Have no idea, but just seems like something that would not be allowed on plane. Unless it fits in your luggage, I guess. I traveled with my DDs friend one time and she had her leg roller in her carry on bag because we were traveling for a race. We got detained for a possible sword in luggage. Lol. It took us forever to figure out what in the heck they were talking about. They wouldn’t just open the luggage and look, they had to call more people over to look at the X-ray. It was weird.

Did you just SM a generic request like, "I saw an offer for 75K. Can you match that on my new account?"

Or does the request for a match require naming a specific comparison card?

Thanks 🙂

I said something like . . . "After I applied for this card, I realized there was a 75k offer available. Would it be possible to match me to the higher offer?"

Good luck!

Interesting tidbit from Rene's Points / Boarding Area - don't pay your Amex bill late. You could lose your MRs! #AlwaysAutoPay #PayInFull

I have my autopay to deduct a week before the due date, to be honest. I'm type A.

Yeah that came out earlier with the Gold card stuff, but it didn't get a lot of attention. Got excited that someone was going to cover the nuances of it but sorely disappointed after I clicked.

On DoCs post about all the changes someone wondered about charge cards not being affected because they have a"please pay by" date rather than a"due date". Personally I think AmEx treats both as the same and charge cards will be affected. If they aren't, that'd be a small positive in the charge card favor. I think folks with credit cards are more diligent with paying on time but with the charge cards it'd be easy for some to forget and lose their points. But AmEx has your back! They have allowed reinstatement of the points for a small fee, around $35-40, so sounds like charge cards just got a late fee added :) (if they are affected)

I got that email as well. Mine has an expiration date of 7/31 which throws a wrench into my plans. I was going to try for Cip #3 at the end of June. Have the trip to Seattle in July and tuition in August so easy to meet spend. But if I get this Delta by end of July, I might have hard time with that 4K MSR. I need URs more than Delta as I only know of one flight on Delta in my near future. I'll go for the CIP and then see if I think I can meet the Delta MSR. I'll also have to put some spend on DH's AMEX cards to reduce the probability he'll get a pop-up....

Yeah I want to get another CIP as well, but I need to wait until July. I applied for the Delta Platinum Biz ($6K MSR) in the mean time. We have some big expenses pretty soon, so I should be able to do both.

Yeah - it's definitely the one night thing that is causing that. The cost of the rental car for just 1 day increases your miles cost vs. being spread over numerous days or a week on a longer trip (where the rental car cost per day comes down).

Perhaps it's best to check both sites no matter what your situation lol. We also haven't talked a lot about AA for Universal since URs can be used for that and you can get the 1.5x kicker with CSR. It seems though that there are some crazy pricing on those resorts with AA as well.

Not sure if this is relevant but for @amalone1013 's single night 6/22 - 6/23 Coronado Springs - that's a weekend night which Disney charges a higher price for, so averaged out on the 6/20 - 6/23 reservation it would show a lower cost as the first night is cheaper from Disney.

Speaking of ridiculous arguments, somebody on the Restaurants board got upset because I disagreed with them about the new portion size at BOG.

It went like this:

Them: "IMO the new portion size is too small for one person"
Me: "IMO the new portion size is just right for one person"
Them: "EXCUSE ME I am very LARGE and just because it is right FOR YOU doesn't mean it is right for EVERYONE!!!"

I guess when they wrote "one person" it meant "me, as an individual," but when I did it, it meant "you're a pig." The magic of the English language!

Every so often I remember why I rarely leave this thread.

As an aside, DF & I are in the lounge waiting for our flight and sitting near us are triplet toddler girls, in matching outfits but different colors, and their iPad cases match their outfits. They are so cute. I aspire to this level of parenting.

Sometimes the truth hurts = referring to the other person but feeling if I don't clarify the english language will make it seem I'm swiping at you!

I put our girls in matching outfits and went to National Harbor last weekend for a concert (outdoor) and dinner at Rosa Mexicano. We got a lot of attention. Toddlers are so cute!
