What a wonderful way to spend Mother's Day!!! That cabana looked heavenly!!! I could spend a whole week there relaxing by the pool...

I didn't know Harry Potter had bank notes that you could purchase... That's why I love reading your trip reports... I learn something new every day!!!

Have a great time in New York with your Mum and family!!!

Oh it really was fabulous Nancy......we felt very pampered the whole day!

We aren’t usually cabana people, but we LOVED this.......🥰

The notes you can buy are cute.......we’ve bought many as gifts for friends kids and grandkids, especially if they’re visiting at some point. And kids love to spend the notes too.......

Thanks so much.......looking forward to it, especially as it’s gone colder here tonight.........:wave2:

Love ,love, love Universals Classic Monsters. I was always disappointed that they didn't do much with them. I could spend some serious $$ at this store. I don't know if it is popular in the UK but here Halloween is huge and decorating your house is as big a deal as decorating for Christmas. Sorry, do you even celebrate Halloween with Trick or Treaters?? Anyway, thanks so much for the tip! I'll be sure to stop by in August.

I didn't think anything more until Tom nudged me......I looked over and this guy was rolling up his shirt and began strapping this tape around one arm and it was attached to "something"......now this alarmed me.....what was he strapping on to his body!!!! I shot up and got a clearer image of him.....he began putting what looked like a go pro on his body.....I was fully intruiged now and this arm strapping took ages...….then he began praying and nodding his head and body in full prayer. Now I was a little unsettled and spoke to the security officer.....he looked too as after a period of time the man began to unstrap the item and put his shirt on. He also had a jewish cap on his head now...….I guess he was just praying but not sure strapping something to your body is a good idea in an airport!!!! And at that he was gone......he was on the NY flight!!

So, my overactive imagination could simmer down to a panic now.....I`m a worrier and think of almost every type of incident that could occur....

.

Im late to the game, but this made me laugh so much! They are called Tfillin, and Jewish men wrap them around their heads and arms. It does look kinda like a go-pro, though I never thought about it like that! I live in Israel, and people put them on all the time.

:welcome: Along to this report TwingleMum......

Glad to see you here.......

Oh yes, we do celebrate Halloween here, not as big a deal as in the States......we’ve been enjoying American Halloween especially HHN in September every year since 2007....well, almost every year.......had to change months a couple of times......

But, yes, the store is fabulous.......I spent far too much money in there but it was worth it........everyone loves that handbag and I think I may need to buy a couple in September for friends!!!

Hope you enjoy reading along and nice to see you here........:wave2:

Quick Q- where was the brunch located! DH was seriously jealous of the crab legs and oysters

It was in Amatista.......they also had a similar one in Islands at RP.......I think all the hotels do the same......

The crab legs were amazing........good size......and plentiful.......oysters were lovely too.......although Tom looked away as I ate them.......lol.....

:welcome: Along too expatmama.........so glad to see you here!!!

Lol.....thank you so much for the explanation ::yes::.........We had no clue as we never seen anything like that before......never.......so it was weird and you can imagine what we were thinking as he seemingly strapped something to his body.....lol.....my little brain goes into overdrive fairly easy!! Poor guy.....

Wow......Israel........I don’t know anyone that has ever lived there.......I don’t know anyone who has ever visited there now I think on it.

But, hope you enjoy reading along and hope to see you more.......:wave2:

Have a great Trip Carole. Enjoy the trip with your mother. I know I enjoyed the trip to Mexico with my mom. We had never done anything even remotely like that growing up. But my sisters and I are planning to surprise Mom with a trip to France to visit her sister who lives there for her 70th birthday. We will all go as a family to visit all of them. That's only 2.5 yrs away lol. Guess I better start saving now lol.

Wow...that spice shop> I could have spent a good amount of time and $$$ there. I just love little shops like that. They are little hidden gems that are such great places.

Your Mother's Day looked like it was a glorious day! That would have been a perfect day!!!!

Have a great trip with your Mom, and enjoy all the family time!!!!

Carole I hope the trip goes smoothly, enjoy the time with your family!

Love, love, love, SF especially the pool area. It’s footprint seems huge compared to the other hotels onsite. Has to be far more loungers and appreciate how shade is not at a premium. The cabana looks very comfy and quite tempting now that I see one since we tend to spend so much time at the pools, especially on HHN nights. Only thing missing in my mind is the FOTL perk, really wish they’d offer it, even if they’d raise the rates a % to cover it.

That MD buffet looks impressive. Am i mistaken or did I see split “king” legs, a true rarity on any buffet these days.

It’s nice to see you have such a connection to the staff there.
