Historically, entrance for partygoers only has been 4 pm. Last year was the first time DVC was allowed in at 2 - no word yet as to whether that will continue this year. But you can count on at least being able to enter at 4 without a day ticket.
The MNSSHP and MVMCP pages on the DVC member website list the 2 pm entry again this year.

We'll be there Dec 2-11 and thinking of doing the party. Originally, I've been thinking going Tuesday, Dec 12th because Tuesdays are supposed to be a better day. I know Fridays are supposed to be busier, but now I'm thinking maybe Friday, Dec 6th because the next day will be our non-park day. We'd do MK the whole day on Dec 6th, be able to stay later and sleep in the next day.

Does anyone think it's worth doing a Friday for those reasons or better to stick with a Tuesday for a possibly "quieter" time. I know it's not going to be slow any party night.

With a good plan, the night you go doesn’t really matter. I always advise picking the date that works best with your schedule.

I'm planning on going to this years MVMCP now just to see this firework show, I loved holiday wishes and I don't know if they could top it.

I made my ADR's this morning and I realized that it allowed me to make a reservation for 6:55pm at Skipper Canteen on a party night (that we do not have tickets for). Does anyone know how Disney typically handles that? Would we be able to stay in the park until we check in for our reservation and then they would just give us one of those wristbands so we aren't hassled when leaving the park after dinner? I've had dinner in MK on a party night when not attending the party but never that late, so I thought I would check to see if anyone has experience with that.

The park closes at 6pm. You will need to move the reservation back to a time before 6. Not sure what wristband they could give you unless you buy a party ticket.

Really looking forward to up on the house top. One of my favourite Christmas tracks thanks to the old Disney Christmas VHS’s - anyone else remember those? Narrated by Jiminy Cricket with Mickey on the piano.

What I was referring to were the wristbands they hand out when you have a dining reservation that will go into the party. Last year we had a 5pm reservation at Be Our Guest and when we checked in they gave us wristbands that they told us to wear when leaving the park so we wouldn’t get hassled (basically tells the CMs we had a dining reservations and we are on our way out).

I do think you’re right that I’ll need to move it to earlier since the park closes at 6.

In the post-Wishes era, I had really grown to appreciate/enjoy Jiminy Cricket's narration of Holiday Wishes. Just something about that voice echoing around the MK that was a gentle reminder of Wishes.

It is about time for something new though, that I'll concede. I'll still miss it though!

Understandable! While HEA is visually stunning, I still miss Wishes 😢

We will be there the last 2 weeks of December. We were also there that time of year in 2014 and after the last party date they had the Christmas fireworks in the park and on Christmas Day. Any word on if it will be the same with the new show?

I read there are both gluten free and healthy free snack options during the party. Does anyone have experience asking for these or know what is available?

So, a bit of mixed history. In 2017 (first year of HEA), they ran HEA every night post MVMCP (excluding 12/30 & 12/31 special NYE shows), which was a change from prior years where they ran Holiday Wishes during that time (like you experienced in 2014). In 2018, they switched back to running Holiday Wishes those two weeks.

I’m going to “guess” they’ll run the new holiday fireworks show this year, BUT we don’t know that yet... so stay tuned.

Been to wdw 10 times, heading there 11/18-11/22 and the mvmcp 11/21. 1st xmastime trip was 2014 (WL) which was when my beloved mom had been diagnosed w/pancreatic cancer and INSISTED I not cancel our trip, as Id never been able to go to wdw during the holidays due to work and she was soooo kind. At the mvmcp parade, I was doing ok until a lady next to me held up her Ipad and I could see she was streaming the parade to HER terminal mother. I lost it!!! Didnt go back to wdw until 2016 (POR) for my 25th wedding anniversary...during Hurricane Hermine, lol!!! Now we are taking our now-adult kids to celebrate the 15th anniversary of our 1st family wdw trip and my 50th birthday. Was afraid to book mvmcp but my hubby wants to "see those cool tin soldiers"! Since 2014, also lost my dad,too...but Im excited for this and wish all a good trip!!!
