Had been looking for Pop for the weekend 11/14-11/17, but with the SW flights I found this morning, it made more sense to go 11/15-11/18. I looked up those dates for Pop tonight (directly on the Disney website) and they were there. So I got that weekend set up for a girls trip with DD16. Can’t wait! Loving that CP. Going to try “erasing” the room deposit with the Arrival+. That’ll work, right?

So, we PC'ed dh's CSR to a CFU back in April when the AF posted. Already had used the $300 TC in Jan. I'd like to PC the CFU back to a CSR soon. Couple of questions:

1. The AF will post soon after or not until 2020 or this is an unknown?
2. Will he get the TC again or not until the last Dec statement drops and we are into 2020?
3. Is this a good way to get on Chase's bad side? Don't want to do that and not worth it.

AND another topic with a question :)
We never stay at Bon blah so I pretty much ignore the chatter. But now we are going to be at Swan for 5 nights in Aug. We will have the resort fee on each room. What is the best way to save on that? Can't use Marriott GC, correct?

Thanks!
Right, it is hard to understand in writing too lol. I found the post from @Andysol and as I read, I realized I didn't understand when he first posted about this.

SO, I would want to use my dh's really old CF and not use his CFU (which was the CSR)? OR maybe a better option is to use my CF but that was my old CSR. Hmm, not sure either is a good option. We don't have another UR card.
Perhaps take this to PM and we can find your best path forward lol!

But only if you tell us the outcome as some of us may also want to do it. I would think if thr CF/U was at least a year from being a CSR that it would be ok because that seems to be how it was explained. How else would you go between the two if you only had the two. Downgrade the CSR in Oct and then upgrade in Nov as an example. I don't think it matters if it was a CSR before so long as it's been at least a year to keep them happy. Though if you are able to do it between P1 and P2 that would keep them happier so one person always had it rather than one person going back and forth all the time.

But the AF and when it hits is what I'm curious about. If it's tied to the CF/U's anniversary and you can upgrade the month after and potentially not get the AF then I'm interested :)

Wow, I'm reloading a few Southwest pages, responding to your earlier post, and you go and get (instantly!) approved for a CIP! Congratulations!

Yes, the CIP works everywhere Visa is accepted. So in that sense, it works just like your CF. The bonus categories are different, but you're focused on MSR so bonus categories don't matter as much but basically the CIP earns 3x UR on shipping, internet/cable/phone bills, and travel (hotels, flights, tolls, parking meters and garages, etc.).

You may want to call CIP customer service at 1-800-945-2028 to ask if they'll expedite your new card, and they should send it to you within about 2 days. Then you can start putting your spend on it!

Calling them is on my list to do; thanks. And I have a couple of (driving) trips coming up in July and August so will be sure to put those on the new CIP for the hotel bonus; thank you. And will use it for the internet bill; thank you! Oh, and IF by some miracle the item I just listed on eBay sells (due to my savvy sole-proprietorship)(and if I get the card on time), I will be sure to put the shipping cost on the new card as well!

Just supported myself to the BBP and approved! Dodged the pop up once more!
May I ask for a translation on this, please?

Hmm, I'll see if my dd and her friend can go those dates! I know their Monday classes are the problem but worth checking. I wish I could go with my dd but I don't think they want me along. I just don't understand why not :rotfl:I'm a cool mom!

I used my own link to apply for the Amex Blue Business Plus (BBP), which will get me the support bonus and the SUB.

Amex has a "pop up" feature during the application process that warns you if you don't qualify for the SUB based on certain negative "history" with Amex, but particularly spending patterns that suggest you're opening up cards for the bonus, not using their cards enough after you've gotten the bonus, and closing them out after a year. Like I mentioned to you in an earlier post, it takes commitment to stay on Amex's good side so they'll keep approving you for more cards and bonuses. I've so far managed to avoid the dreaded pop up.

Yes, it's kind of a crap card! I just referred my father so he'll have a card while he dogsits for me (I'll pay the bill) and to get the 15k MRs.

Yeah it is kindof, but I have downgraded mine more than once to the Blue because it's one of my older cards and then I can keep the line open fee free. I was thinking it would be good for dd since she can't meet much spend, but miles are always good and it will get me miles :-) . And maybe even dh, if I can ever get him out of pop up jail (he hasn't yet had the blue). He hasn't had the Biz Plat either but I don't know that I am ready to meet that big spend again and have to do battle for miles when I haven't gotten my own miles yet.

I prefer soft sided. They don't get scratched up and I find them more flexible. I have the Travel Pro Platinum Magna 2 spinners. The wheels and zippers are awesome. I wound up purchasing the domestic and the international carry on sizes as well as a checked bag size. After doing a ton of research on bags, I was between this brand and a Briggs & Riley expandable. I decided to try the Travel Pro since it was less expensive and figured if it didn't hold up, I'd bite the bullet and get a B&R set. I am beyond impressed with how much the bag holds and how well it has held up. I bought them nearly 2 years ago and have used them on all of my travel hacking adventures, cruises and near constant weekend trips to WDW.
Thank you so much! Your luggage takes a beating lol
India in December - YES! THIS! My favorite place. Where are you thinking of going? Haven't been there in years, but its awesome (and crazy, and can be upsetting, but beautiful and awesome).
We'd be traveling with 2 sets of friends and 1 new-to-us couple who has traveled with the other four (and we totally hit it off with them so yay). Five of the six are profs so we have to wait until fall semester classes finish to leave  One couple is from Delhi and from a small town in the north. We'll be going to Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, and one other place whose name I forgot. We will essentially be auditioning a tour company that could be used for annual donor trips for the university :thumbsup2 We're supposed to get the pricing from the company tomorrow!
In March I bought the away bigger carryon. It’s awesome. I fit I solid weeks worth of clothes in there, plus several pairs of shoes and my daughters nebulizer in there. It rolls so easily, the battery was great when our flight was delayed 2 hours and I had to entertain a 1 and 7 year old with the iPad.

I got it in blush, and i checked on the way home. It got a few marks, but they came off with a baby wipe.

I also bought a lo and sons Catalina tote. That’s some nice stuff
Nice, thanks for the two recs! This is the first I have heard of the Lo and Sons Catalina totes and I may be in  Which do you have? I like the ones with the suitcase handle sleeve!
I like this brand https://www.ebags.com/product/ebags/tls-hybrid-spinner-carry-on/349323?productid=10594711 It's a hybrid (soft & hard) and it's expandable. I've taken it on a few trips and the design is very well thought out.
Ooooooh thanks :)

I love this thread. I literally posted something like "it's your vacation and there is no wrong way to do it. Do whatever you like" on another thread and apparently that means that I just don't understand things. :rotfl: I guess there is only one "right way" to do things LOL.

Love you guys! :grouphug:

Finished the MSR on my Arrival+ tonight - Down payment on the room at Pop in November and 3 tickets to Dollywood for DS18, DD16, and me finished it off. My statement period with the Arrival should end around June 10. That should be plenty of time for my SUB to post at that time, shouldn’t it?

Off topic but I am going to try this! I DO like sweet things but I'm always trying to reduce my sugar intake. I like the Matcha but it's already sweetened which is unfortunate. Thanks for the idea!
Make sure to have it double blended. Without the syrup the drink can be a little "dry", leaving larger chunks of ice that clog the straw.

DH CIP annual fee will post next week. He has about 50K points still on it. Do we keep it or is it better to downgrade to a different card. We do have some hotel stays pending in July and October. Will that affect anything?

Omg I hear you. Some days you just need a day off- even on your once in a lifetime vacations where you can’t imagine taking time for that! I think the reality is that it’s especially on those vacations we need “time off” because we push to see so much all while our bodies are screaming at us the clock we’re using is a liar...)
I slept in until 9 this morning because I was beat. I woke up and my tendon on the outside of my knee is really sore so it might be rough walking around today. We have a Pokémon cafe reservation at 1 which should be fun. I’m not sure if we’ll do anything before that. I think Dh wants to but my leg really hurts

My May summary:

-Spent the month working on the MSR for Arrival+, finished tonight. Card was approved 4/26.
-Got my first Serve card set up. Still don’t have a system in place. Got shot down twice on using my “debit card”. Hoping the second time was just a PIN number issue that I can fix by calling in. I did deposit some cash made at the family yard sale (part of my business), just to get a feel for it. Used it for a partial payment on the Arrival. Now waiting to see when the statement closes for the month before moving ahead.
-CP finally posted to my SW account. Had finished the spend on my SW Priority around April 10 but it was too close to my statement close. Got it now and used it for my DD16 for an August MCO trip and then just today, another in November.
-Helped P2 apply for CIP2 last weekend. Hopefully will arrive about same time we get home from the Smoky Mtns. (Our part of the cabin was paid for with the Arrival.)

Looking ahead to June:
-Support UR’s should post from P2’s CIP2
-Will apply for my CIP2 in about two weeks.
-Major replenishing of UR’s happening as you see. Still hoping for plane tickets to Europe for next summer. I keep spending my points so I don’t have enough amassed yet. Hopefully with the 2 CIP’s this summer we’ll be set.

I don’t know what to get after the CIP2’s. Guess I’ll see how long it takes to meet the MSR’s. May use Plastiq to pay for college tuition, in which case it won’t take long. I’m 3/24, P2 is 2/24 as of June 1. I really like the UR’s but I need something else to space things out. Our next cards won’t fall off our */24 for another year, so mostly biz cards will be on the shortlist.
