Yes! When I went on the cruise it was only two of us. He's really great. I believe his rates are for the van and not the amount of people so it doesn't matter how few people there are. He even holds a sign at the airport with your name on it

Well, I just burned 90k URs (earned from my most recent CIP SUB) → Hyatt to book an ocean view room for a long weekend at the Hyatt Carmel Highlands (and Carmel, Monterey, and Big Sur) to celebrate my wife's upcoming birthday. Feels good.

That hotel looks gorgeous. We’ll be out there is Sept for the first time, and I contemplated staying there. We decided on the Intercontinental in Monterey instead so we could walk to things.

Fingers crossed I’m in the clear... $250 statement credit posted on my card. I’m just going to hit MSR on both cards and see what happens. If nothing else I get a couple miles out of the spend and then will evaluate if I need to get personal cards.

If you get the statement credit but not the miles (which seems HIGHLY unlikely ) it's still a decent use of an application. It's like $200 cash back for a $2k MSR - that alone is a decent return. lol!

Both of us used the 40K/$250 statement credit one on DoC's site (not through making a dummy booking). I got the 40K miles, plus additional 20K mile granted letter (although those haven't posted yet). DH did not get any bonus miles. I'm still hoping they will show up, but @SouthFayetteFan's DPs are convincing me that they probably won't.

I applied ten days before him (me 4/1, him 4/11), and I had instant approval whereas his went pending. I haven't contacted Citi because I've got no leg to stand on, and I think I'll just let this one pass since he still has CitiBiz#1 open from 7/2017 (and I have CitiBiz#1 open from 10/2017). I'll wait for the 24 months to pass since his last bonus from Citi then apply again since I won't need a mailer by then. And I'll close his 2 open CitiBiz cards at least a month before applying for him.

Is it just the Biz cards that are showing this trend, or the personal ones too?

ETA: maybe I will talk to Citi if I don't see anything when DH's 2nd statement posts. I've got nothing to lose.

Just another DP on Aviators: Based on conversations here yesterday day (I think?) I just used my 2 employee cards (1 for garlic and the other for peanuts... pad thai tonight I did not activate by calling but both sales were approved.

Hope you are all ok. I just saw it was lifted. Thank goodness! My brother's family lives in Georgetown and I lived in DC for a few years. Love that area!

I'd love to read a review of the Waldorf. In particular, how was the shuttle to the parks if you used it? And if you walked over to Hilton Bonnet Creek for the lazy river?

When we stayed and used the shuttle it was great, nice tour buses and you're not crammed in there like on the Disney buses. Walking over to the Hilton is really easy, there is a path that goes between the two hotels with the convention center between them. I think there is a hallway that runs the length of the convention center so if you wanted to make the walk indoors you could, we always walked the path since we were usually going from pool to pool. I agree, its an awesome hotel with true hospitality that you don't usually find anymore unfortunately.

I'm planning a family trip to Oahu this December. We will be staying at Marriott Ko Olina which is next door to Aluni. DGD will have just had her 7th birthday. Do you have any suggestions of must do's while we are there? I've done some research but I'm very open to suggestions.

Around the Ko Olina resort area or on Oahu generally?

I also did the 40k/ $250 statement credit for P1 and P2. P2 got a letter declining a match a couple of days ago and P1 just got the same letter today. I bought a $250 AA GC with both. P1 the statement credit went right through almost immediately. P2s didn't show up as quickly so I sm'ed Citi. I was told that I had the credit coming based on the offer I signed up with but that it could take a while a couple of billing cycles. I am hopeful that I will receive the 40k as well as the other statement credit based on my experience so far.

These are your first Citi AA Biz cards though, right? If so, you have nothing to worry about - you'll definitely get your points (and if not you can fight for them because there's no rule blocking you). The discussion and worry here is on subsequent cards. We are basically exploiting a loophole that Citi doesn't enforce the 24 mo. language. If they deny you the bonus in this new scenario, you have no leg to stand on since you clearly haven't waited 24 months.

Yeah, there’s nothing much around there, which is kind of the point of this escape. I’m planning some nature activities, like hiking, tide pooling, maybe a trip into Carmel by the Sea and a day on Carmel Beach if the weather’s nice. Although I’m sure my kiddo would be just fine in a pool. That should tire the little one out, and maybe then we can sit back, relax, and enjoy the view. Definitely going to check out the on-site restaurant. The views look amazing.

Woof...the wind has passed me, but it was pretty severe. Too many tall trees around here that are ready to come down. Gusts were at least 40-50 MPH. I'm sure the news will have that amplified as they were talking up to 60. I'm just relieved the tornado warning has passed as I'm alone here right now.

Anyway, electric stayed on even though it flickered a few times and cable had to reset itself. I live on an older street with some of the power still above ground and the rest is buried but when it goes out all of us are out.

Okay, using goportcanaveral site I found the $15 shuttle. Does it run continuously? I guess if we went that route we could UBER to our hotel near the port, if we didn't stay at MCO. The site also offer packages with hotel stay, round trip from MCO, and shuttle from hotel to the port. But then I can't use UR.

I think their shuttles run continuously during cruise times (not at night), but you’d have to double check how often. We used them to go from the port to MCO. We did have to wait a while for the next bus to arrive. Maybe 30 minutes??
