Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Does anyone know if my TA made a room request/note with Disney for my reservation, and I do online check-in, will that wipe out the note (since online check-in asks about certain room preference questions too)? I know nothing is guaranteed anyway but i dont want to negate what she already added for me. thanks.

Just skip the room request section.

I'm like 5 pages behind on this thread because I was at DLR this past weekend, but we have a half day cabana booked for this Saturday. The CM told me when I booked it that there was some sort of weather policy where you'd get a refund if the weather was bad but I sort of said "ok" and didn't ask for details. I'm wondering if this is "you only get a refund if the pool is closed for lightning the whole time" or if you're screwed if it's just raining. I will say Disney doesn't usually say "Sorry, can't help you!" when it comes to things like that though, but I may cancel ours if the weather is looking particularly bad for Saturday.

I have been trying to book a cabana for Saturday (5/11)! Let me know if you cancel :)

For early morning flights or early park openings, I get coffees at Starbucks the day before and put them in the fridge. This makes it a little less painful!
Drinking Starbucks is always painful.:lmao:

I kid, I kid.

Are you talking about ice coffee or the real stuff?

I've done both depending on the season. I used the microwaves in quick service to re-heat and then add creamer. Not great, but does the trick. I have also been guilty of using 5 hour energy and caffeinated mints that you get on Amazon. (Viter energy)

Hellllloooooo!!!!!!!!

Opens door slightly and peers inside…… and jumps in with both feet and arms waving manically above head :yay:. I’m back.

Hello, to all my old friends in here and to all the new acquaintances that I am about to make.

I’m pleased to announce that we have booked our beloved :worship: Yacht Club for 21-31 July 2020. Virgin finally received their allocation of rooms and we were quick to snap up a Garden/Woods view (or as its also known "Tennis Court View" :rolleyes1 which was what we had last trip).

Prior to arriving at Disney we will be spending 9 nights out on Idrive and the Darkside.

The trip is going to be a celebration of our DD finishing secondary school before moving onto further education. Our dates have been carefully chosen to be after prom and before exam results! Unfortunately it means she will miss celebrating her sweet sixteen in Disney and we will miss returning to our wedding venue on our anniversary.

We are really excited to see in person the refurbed rooms and the new counter service area and changes to dining. We have of course been keeping an eye on all the Youtube videos and vlogs to keep up to date with what has been going on since our last Yacht Club visit in 2016. I will say that I had to watch 5 room videos before someone actually opened that middle cupboard in the bureau!!!! I was literally shouting at the screen “open the dang cupboard people”.

I plan to spend many an evening reading over this thread as I’ve avoided it for quite some time and know that I will have a lot to catch up on.

So, Dee, please can we be added to Be Our Guest for 21-31 July 2020 (I’ve just had a quick look and we will be the furthest out booking!!!!!!)

:disrocks:
Hellooooooo Back! :wave2:
I can't believe your daughter is 16 already!! Where does the time go???

Just checked in yesterday afternoon. YC, water view, non club. Great room location & view. Front row to Epcot fireworks from the balcony. Far from elevator but found a “secret” door from the outside that’s literally 30 feet from the room. Room 2057.
We have a cabana rented for tomorrow’s afternoon session and went over to check them out first. Very cool set up. Talked to the cabana staff. Weekends are booked up but during the week has availability.

Awesome! That location looks fantastic.

Can anyone tell me about the conceirge floor? Was thinking of cancelling cape May breakfast buffet and upgrading. It’ll be myself, DH and DS(9) right now we have a really good rate on a water-view YC for 3 nights.

Do you get AP discount with cabana rental? Also, where do I view my cabana reservation on MDE?
Thanks.
I’m not Minnie1222, but I can tell you that you can’t view your cabana reservation on MDE. You can enter it manually as a note in MDE on your schedule, that’s the best way I’ve found and the only way that’s been suggested to me. It’s even the way DSS entered them for me after I made them and harmony barbershop haircuts. I have no idea why they don’t make them show on MDE like an ADR or FP does :confused3.

:welcome: to the thread!

When is your trip?

You can get some good info, pictures and reviews on Page 1, Post 12 of this thread and also the dedicated Club Lounge thread on the resorts subforum.

We love the club level breakfast and it has improved even more so than when we last stayed. Of course, with the Cape May breakfast you get the character interaction. Which may or may not be a plus with your son.

Hi. thanks.
We’re going the beginning of June and staying the first three days at CR main tower and then switching over to YC. We’re already doing dinner at Chef Mickey and Garden Grill, so while Cape May looks great, it’s not essential. (It was more something to do the last day when we’re not going to park)
I would love to hear more about the breakfast at conceirge. Are there any hot foods? Any eggs or waffles? What improvements have you seen?
Thanks so much!
p.s. This would be a switch from YC-water view to YC-conceirge-standard view

When we were there, breakfast was different from day to day. It always included assorted pastries, a few cold meat selections, fruit, cereal, oatmeal and yogurt. Some days they served crepes, other days crustless quiche that was delicious.

How much will the upgrade cost? I just stayed 4 nights BC CL because the increase was minimal (less than $150 total) and it was great! We did not buy mugs since we had drinks steps away, used the lounge for breakfast daily, and stopped in for the evening appetizers and some adult beverages most nights. We definitely saved money because we cancelled some ADRs. If the breakfast will cost about the same as the upgrade it may be nice for you to try!

The CL staff was also super friendly and engaging. It was nice having our own concierge on our floor to pay off our room and ask questions.

Unfortunately our difference is more like $225-250/night bc I had such a low rate on our current room.
I guess cape May would be about $100. I’d hate to cancel our Garden Grill res, but maybe trattoria al Forno could go...
It sounds like you had a great trip at the conceirge
How “bad” are the standard view rooms?
