Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

Any recent input on what times rooms have been available? I just repacked so we have a pool bag carry on and hopefully if our room isn’t ready we can drop our other carryons off somewhere ?

Huge thank you to everyone for their help. I work 8-2 tomorrow then we head out to airport hotel for an overnight and head out bright and early Thursday am..

Thanks all

Whenever we've not made any requests other than "1st available", we've gotten our room when we arrive. Anytime from 6:30-9:30AM. We're about 50% when making room requests and we usually arrive by 1:00PM.

Bell Services will gladly hold your carry ons for you.

I saw on the facebook group that upon arrival someone was informed that the hotel was overbooked (130%) and they had to switch resorts. Initially they tried to put them in an Art of Animation Suite but eventually they got put into the Contemporary. This worries me a bit because I have activities booked at the resort. How common is this?
I would welcome the chance at being bumped up to a deluxe rather than stay at a moderate. In fact, this happened to us after 911 when attendance was low and they closed French Quarters. They called and asked which moderate we would like to transfer to and I asked if we could stay at Poly. They said yes but I think we paid an extra $20/night. So we paid around $180/night for a week at Poly!!!

I believe I read a post that mentioned the pools have life jackets. Is that correct? And are they just the typical life jackets with smaller sizes for the kids?
We are driving to wdw and making another stop first so anything I don’t have to pack will make my life easier!

I'm pretty sure they are the same life vests they use at the water parks. There should be toddler to adult size ranges available. Here is a pic of the style used in the water parks.

Here is a rack at All-Star Sports-the rack at CBR looks similar.

(Note-the small, shallow Pools in the Islands are not lifeguarded and do not provide life jackets.)

Hi everyone. I am currently having bit of an issue regarding the murphy bed. I called last week to add it as a request to my booking. However, it has since become a bookable category so they will not add it as a request. If offered to pay to upgrade - no availability. My daughters have 11 years between them and really can't share a bed.

Do you have any advice? Would they perhaps help at check-in? Can I request a mattress for the floor or anything!?! An air bed???

Any advice very greatly appreciated. Thank you.
We have stayed at CBR at least 6 times over the past several years (even through the construction!). Neither of my sons wanted to sleep in the same bed. The twin air mattress worked great. We put it between the beds. They also rotated who slept in the bed each night. This helped since we usually go for at least 7 nights per trip! Good luck!

7 days from now we will be checking in for our first stay at CBR (second Disney trip ever). My wife and kids(8 & 10) are beyond excited. Just wanted to saythanks for the thread and Dansdad and all those that contribute and share their knowledge about the resort. You can research too much and start second guessing your decision of a resort but this thread is well balanced and realistic in its expectations. :thanks:

Checking in on the same day for our second stay. See you there!

Your planning and research will pay off on your trip. Let us know how things go when you get back!

We just added a night to the beginning of our trip next month (May 13th). We're staying one night at standard at CBR.
It's a resort day for us and we plan on having lunch at DS and then spending the day in hammocks, having dinner at Sebastian's and making s'mores and watching the movie outside.

Of course AFTER I booked it, I read the past 50 or so pages.

At first I panicked and with each post my relaxing first day surrounded by the fun and beauty of the resort faded away.

But I've decided to hope for the best and enjoy our stay no matter where we end up.
I plan on taking a ton of pictures and will post them here for you guys

To be honest , my husband isn't going to mind the construction at all. He just as happy at a motel 6 as he is at a 5 star hotel, lol.
I just want to say thank you. You provide so much info and help on these boards.

Also, does anyone know if the Tie-dyed t-shirt activity is just for kids? I'd kind of like to do this.

Hope you have a great stay! Will be there a few weeks later so yes please post pics... I’ve been worried too!

We arrive in 13 days - one night stay in a Pirate room, then 9 nights in a standard.

Is anyone reading this thread currently at CBR or returned very recently? I was hoping to get a construction update on the state of the grounds around Jamaica and Aruba.

The last thing I read, somewhere else, was that, as of April 10th, the grounds construction at Jamaica had been wrapped up and Aruba was done up to building 52. I'm assuming this meant the ground had been reinforced, fences down, and that landscaping had been completed. If this is correct, I would expect the construction on the grounds to be complete in the next few weeks, unless there are unanticipated delays.

Can anyone corroborate this?

I think we're going to request Jamaica 44-46 but would be less concerned if we were put in Aruba.
