Free Dining 2020

Thanks for replying!

I'll keep you informed but i think i will get it close to that price once the free dining comes out. I priced the same this year while the free dining was on and it was coming out around £6500. So hopefully not too much of an increase this year.

No way i'll be booking through Virgin they are ridiculous!
Ok Disney direct quoting just under £4500 so guess you might have a chance, flights are a lot cheaper in September

Hi all - if you pre-register your interest with Virgin Holidays and book your holiday with them on 25th April, they'll give you $300 Disney gift card. I also think Attraction Tickets Direct are doing the same offer. Unfortunately we're going to Disney on 26th April, so can't convince the hubby to put a deposit on another holiday in 2020, the day before our one this year

HI All

Hope you're all ok?

Would anyone like to take a guess what my quote would be on the 25th once free dining is out?

2 Adults 2 Children
Flying from Manchester 13th September 2020 14 nights
Caribbean beach resort
Disney dining plan
14 nights tickets

I was hoping to get it for £6500?

Chris
Flights are not available yet, so can only get a price for room and tickets. Assuming that your children are under 9 and you want to stay in a standard room, currently the price comes up on the site as £4337.12 without the dining plan (as I assume that you’re wanting to get free dining when it’s released next week). You could try and look at flights for this year to get a rough estimate of how much these would be then add that on? Hope that helps.

Yeah the kids will both be under 9, on flights I can ring up Disney by telephone and add them can't I? They just don't appear online until 11 months before.

Yes you can, but importantly, when the flights are released, the price of that will be on top of the price that they will quote you now for room & tickets & it may be cheaper to book airfare independently. Otherwise, if you want an all in price now you can always book a package through someone like Virgin or another travel company, but you don’t get the same certainty over hotel availability (as others have pointed out on this group). I hope that you find something that works for you.

Thanks for all your responses!
Helping so much.
I deally I would like to pay in a package with Disney direct, so if I book my hotel and tickets next week when free dining goes on an I then add flights on later in the year for a 200 pounds deposit? Is it easy to do?

Have you looked at Thomas Cook from Manchester. Their prices have been released for next Summer/September and are reasonably priced atm. They fly direct to MCO so you can still use Magical Express. Might be worth a look.

So I'm looking at the "deal" with free dining starting 25th of Apr.

I'm only seeing that you pay rack rates and for that you get free dining? Plus you can buy the ultimate tix 14 days for the price of 7(Tix is available for anyone in the EU, no need to buy a package)

If I dont get the offer I get the option to get a discount on the rack rates (once released) but no free dining. Normally the dining plan is not worth it unless you maximize the value of every ts spend, and then you should get the deluxe plan.

What am I missing?

So I can use the magical express? I wasn't sure.
I won't get the memory maker etc will I?
Thank you

The free dining offer includes memory makes and a $200 gift card too... other than that I'm not sure what you think you're missing?

I think i'm missing the part where I find it to be a great deal?
Its in the eye of the beholder I suppose... I love this deal because I like to get as much as possible paid for before I go. And we more than make our money back on the "free" dining plan.

Agreed I have 2 children and the thought that food is sorted is great. Also I will definitely get my moneys worth. Haha

I agree! You're not missing anything!

Unless you eat at the most expensive table service restaurants, choose the most expensive snacks etc and plan your holiday like a military route march then it's not a good deal.

If you happen to be an AP holder too then the room discounts far outweigh the 'free' dining. Even the room discounts for the general public which are often 25% can be more worthwhile. Depending on time spent at Disney it's sometimes better to buy the USA tickets too.

See my reply to you on other post. But yes I’m short you can consider it 41% off room and food. Ok you can argue about whether you spend the same on the price of package as out of pocket. But really the discount is so big it is not worth really arguing that point.

I actually will be paying the circa £1100 upgrade to get regular dining as on such a long 16 night holiday I enjoy being able to sit down in an air con restaurant and also love a few character meals.

Whatever you decide enjoy

Yes you get memory maker and yes you get to use the free Magical Express and yes you get the 200$ gift card (or even 300 if pre-register) yes you get the free food. There really are not any catches to this offer.

Yes you book the hotel and ticket package directly with Disney and the flights through Thomas Cook airlines separately.

I got a quote from Thomas Cook for September 2020. 2 weeks at Caribbean beach for 2 adults and 2 kids. The same deal as booking direct with disney. Memory maker, gift card etc for just under £6000. I also got a quote for Virgin. There a joke. Quoted over £7500!Now i know that Virgin are a better airline, but there so expensive.

So the extra $100 email seems to be very hit and miss. Does anyone know if there is a way to register for this without the email?

I was having issue - went to the link and filled in email address (multiple, just in case!), checked junk ... nothing! Then yesterday, 4 days later - email came through to all accounts!

Same here! However, as you have to use a specific link from Disney to get the extra $100 then that means you can't go through Quidco from what I can work out. At 3% the cashback actually works out far more than the $100 so I'm probably going to do cashback instead.
