Howdy~
What are some of the best Vegan friendly restaurants/QS in the parks? We would also like to do the WOC dining or dessert package and Fantamic package. Are any of those choices better for a vegan. My DH is a omnivore. Any other dining tips would be appreciated.
Thank you and cheers!

Off the top of my head-- currently Harbour Galley at DL has a vegan hot dog with lentil chili on the menu, they also just added a lentil chili bread bowl. Hungry Bear at DL has the Messy Melvin's vegan burger. Rancho del zocalo also has many items that you can veganize (just sub veggies for meat and ask for no sour cream and cheese). Carnation Cafe has a vegan burger.

Mickey pretzels are vegan (no cheese sauce). Pickles and fresh fruit are great snack choices. As is the sourdough bread.

At DCA Lucky Fortune has a tofu rice bowl you can get -- the only vegan sauce is the green curry.
Currently, there is a vegan meatball sub at Paradise garden grill. There is also an off the menu impossible burger at Lamplight Lounge. The ratatouille at night Lamplight Lounge is also vegan if you get it without cheese.

There are a lot of other options too, check out Happiest Vegan on Earth. She has an Instagram and a blog.

Thank you. Reading this made my mouth water. Lol

I like the veggie tacos at Rancho Del Zocalo. They come with cheese by default but they often ask if cheese is OK and, of course, if they don’t, simply ask.

Another vote for the two Mexican quick service locations. There's a homemade vegan burger at Carnation Cafe that is supposed to be good, too (though I cannot have it due to allergies - boo). Steakhouse 55 surprisingly has some good options for breakfast, too. Otherwise, every table service restaurant has been able to accommodate me: vegan + multiple life-threatening food allergies. The big Mickey head pretzels are vegan, as are the frozen lemonade cups and the fruity Dole Whip soft serve flavours. 'Snacks with Character' branded snacks are available in some kiosks and shops, and many of them are vegan -- but double check ingredients.

Plaza Inn made us an amazing vegan scramble and vegan Mickey waffles. Carthay Circle custom made a fantastic vegan pasta dish.

The above suggestions are very good.
For TS, note on your reservation and at check in that you have a vegan in your party. Repeat with your server. Sometimes something can be made custom for you -- but this can take extra time, so be prepared to allow for this. For CS, there should be a binder at the counter with the current ingredient list for menu items. If you have a question about whether something is vegan, CMs can consult the binder or ask a lead to find out for you. Things can be cutomized at CS locations, too, but this will take extra time (sometimes a lot longer), so really be prepared for this. It can help to dine during off peak hours when the kitchen isn't already swamped. CMs will have more time to help answer your questions and the kitchen can customize your order more quickly.
Always have some safe snacks with you, just to hold you over in case you can't find something you like right away. Hanger is no one's friend at DLR!

Thank you for the good advice.

As an aside, have you ever tried Coconut Bliss vegan ice cream? I like their dark chocolate since it’s sweetened with agave. To make it even better, I add some of Trader Joe’s frozen whole cherries. It’s the best frozen treat I’ve ever had. Absolutely amazing.

Salt & Straw Ice Cream in DTD has vegan options! They are super generous with their samples, too. Just ask away -- the employees are very friendly and helpful!

Really? I’ll look for it. Sounds delish and what’s better than chocolate and cherries. Thanks.
