Official 2019 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend

I hope this is the route... I need a change from the bottleneck portion between studios and epcot. I do hope the half still goes down bear lake rd through the forest with all the special effects. So neat!

That is the same course as the 10K for W&D 2018... I did not love the course. From my experience, most of it was crazy crowded.

I just looked at the map... Okay, maybe it is not exactly the same. I don't think that is how we came into Epcot for W&D. It is very similar though.

As I was reading I was thinking it sounded the same. If so then it's likely correct.

It was ok but I prefer going thru DHS even wth the BWV bottleneck. Going thru the parks is what makes the Disney races for me.

(yes, it's the route used for 2018 W&D 10K - sigh)

THREE weeks until the 5k everybody! I'm stalking the weather even though it's probably meaningless. Looks like overnight lows in the 60's :crazy2: I'm still going to try to race the 10k and hope at that distance I won't have the chance to get too overheated. Half is looking like a fun run for me if those are the temps. The 10-day forecast near me says we will be in the 50s-60s next week so I'm hoping we can start getting a *little* ready for the heat.

As for race costumes and level of intricacy, as someone who has run the marathon in a princess dress, I'm going low-key this year. Star Wars themed tank tops and regular running bottoms. a) There are just so few female characters and b) to me it seems many of the Star Wars characters require get-ups that are too unwieldy to run in, in order to get a close enough similarity to the character to be recognized as such. That's just my personal preference though, I can't run 13 miles in the heat in an Admiral Ackbar head. Looking forward to seeing what other people do though!

Hope everybody's training is going great. After my 4-day vacation of no running and then getting a cold, I've lost steam a little bit. Hoping to jump back into the plan full force today.

I ran a local half last weekend and feel much better now that I was able to complete that without any issue. I've been really worried about my training due to inclement weather but it went fine. Of course it was in the 30's and may be a bit tougher if its warmer but for now I welcome some warmer weather. It's getting close now. I'm really excited for my first Star Wars racing experience.

Is the tracking *only* available for 10K and Half?

Never mind, found it:
Family and friends can track their runner's performance with live, online Runner Tracking for the Half Marathon and 10K races. Runners will be able to send split times via email, text message and social media!

Register for this service on the event website approximately 1 week before the event—or ask to sign up for Runner Tracking at the Expo.

Correct. There is no timing chip on the 5K bibs.

Does anyone have a picture of last year's jackets?
They had Kylo Ren on the back with the Star Wars logo and Commitment below it.

When I got the email for the jacket confirmation this year, it had this logo in it:

Hoping they use this in some way.

I really like the artwork - don't like the colors. They have BB-8 on both the light and dark sides. Is there a dark BB-8?

Glad the half course is still the same even though that stretch out of AK is pretty boring. Still cool to go thru three parks during it.
