***Official*** Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Information Thread *** Contains SPOILERS ***

gotta love Star Wars fans ....

- wizards who can move things with their minds and yield a light sword? Yeah, accept that with no questions

- Is a made up measurement unit to be for time or distance? Ok, that we will argue for years with the passion of a thousand suns!!!
and it must be explained while wearing a stormtrooper helmet :) (parsec actually not a made up term)

I have a question about Star Wars clothing. Some information out there suggested folks can buy and or dress in themed clothing for SWGE. Do you think people will do this?

that's a good question, seeing as the CM costuming for the Black Spire village is pretty much "SW everyday clothing" it would be interesting if they allow guests to wear robes or anything that can be confused as a CM outfit. But they are selling robes at the merchandise location so who knows.
As for actual SW costumes "dress like Vader, Stormtrooper, First Order Officer, etc" I think they will not allow that on people over 14 years old.
It is very, very easy to Disney bound like, lets say Rey or Leia or Jyn, so we will have to see how far they allow people to go

Now at the SW resort they will actually provide you with clothing that they encourage you to wear at the resort to make yours and everyone else's stay more immersive

Is that rumor or fact at this point, about the resort providing clothing? And yes, I guess you could easily fashion some type of casual garb that wouldn't be confused with the CM's. I guess we shall see. It should prove to be fascinating.

Thanks, can't wait for more info on the hotel. Talk about exciting...and I'm not even a Star Wars fan...LOL.
My family (nephew, niece-in-law, their two kids and yours truly) are already planning on trying to get a reservation at the hotel the first year of operation. I have a feeling that getting a res might be like winning a lottery ticket, but we're budgeting for it anyway.

I have trouble seeing them not let you wear robes if they are going to be selling them - but agree that if you wear like the Han Solo outfit or something really obvious that is a costume of a specific character that they won't allow that

Going to be interesting to see how they enforce things as dressing up/cosplaying is a pretty big thing in the Star Wars fan community

Good for you. You'll definitely need to start saving now from what I hear about the costs. Great plan...hope you win the lottery!

Exactly! Star Wars/cosplaying, what an opportunity for those folks. But it will only take a few over the top outfits to spoil it for the whole park, you know how that goes.

I wonder... how long do we think:

1. WDW is likely to have EMHs every day for SWGE?
2. SR will remain without FPs?
3. How late do we think DHS will stay open at night once SWGE opens - say Sept through mid-Oct (outside of any EMHs)?

I know, I know - all shall be revealed in due time. But as long as we're speculating, these are the items I need to know for planning, lol! Anyone recall how Pandora went with all of the above? I didn't really pay attention at the time.

I am always hopeful that they would extend hours they don't typically extend that time of year, to accommodate such a enormous undertaking. But quite frankly, I'm always a bit disappointed in many of the decisions they make around closing times for what's considered off season.

Those are the things I want to know, too! We're going in early November. For TSL I've heard they kept the extra EMH running all summer, and I've got to imagine they'd need at least the same for GE unless they replace EMH with a lot of paid EMM and After Hours events. Later general admission nights without EMH would be fine, too. I'd really like to know before I book our plane tickets (since it influences what time we leave FL), but I know that isn't going to happen since we're planning to book this week. I'm just hoping they reveal it all before our FP day.

For Pandora, IIRC, park open moved to 8 every day and there were evening EMH nightly (for Pandora only, the rest of the park was closed). I believe this schedule ran Memorial Day through Labor Day, so 3ish months, but also over the summer. Will be interesting to see what they do with GE, but I’d expect either 8 am opens or daily morning EMH for a while. And wouldn’t be surprised if they did nightly EMH in GE as well.

Disney never seems to make it easy for people to plan. It's almost expected that we don't find things out to help us with our planning...that's been my experience anyhow.

And here's where it gets interesting. If I recall properly, they shortened hours at some other parks to make up for all the additional hours at AK. Surely they know better than to do that with SW?

Wait, really? That’s terrible for summer visitors.

I couldn't agree more! Looks like you are planning for DLR in November. I'm booked for December and the RoTR delay is crushing my plans. I was hoping it would have been up and running for 6 months to decrease some of the insanity. I was also banking on SW:GE being open for EMH and both rides being FP eligible. I've become mentally exhausted rethinking my approach for all potential alternatives.

We’ve been going to WDW in August for several years now. I believe the year Pandora opened, was also when they started decreasing the late night park hours. I recall MK closing many nights at 10pm and being really surprised for summer! Now an 11pm or 12am closing is exciting when years ago 12am used to be expected for summer.

I do prefer the AM & PM EMHs they began at DHS for TSL. I really hope they keep that for SW:GE.

I had to laugh when you said you've become mentally exhausted! It's emotional too, trying to figure it all out. This is my first visit to Disneyland, so I'm super excited, and the fact that SWGE is going to be open was a bonus, as this isn't the reason we planned the trip. We got a room right across the street, now we're just waiting for some of the airlines to open up dates that far out. I am hoping we can get into SWGE, and it would be a double bonus if the second ride was open, but either way I'm good with it.
