Good news today-Cookie dog will not be receiving surgery so the fact that we won't have (likely) a CIP SUB MSR to meet is moot. Hooray! The vet was wonderful and thinks she can do fine without it.

Second good news (and actually On Topic)...received my Barclay AA Biz yesterday, activated it and today within about 15 minutes met MSR so that's 61K AA miles headed my way (as well as a year of yard some kind of service/2 dogs' meds for a year).

So I'm 2 for 3 today and I'll take it. If we don't get the CIP I'll change strategies for payment of our Oct ABD. I'm also considering letting this application be denied then trying (myself for DH) again later. Is the recommendation 3 months after a denial? I can't remember because it hasn't happened to me with Chase.

Glad to hear that you have good news about Cookie! Sorry about the CIP though.

I'm just too chicken to app DH for a second CIP so I had him PC his current CIP to CIU. Then he (me) app for the AMEX Marriott Blahblah Biz. Instant Approval!

Am I correct in thinking it will be okay to app him immediately for a Chase Freedom? He is 2/24 and last Chase app was CIU 10/29/18 and his CL is under 30%. Amex takes a while to report to CR so Chase won't see the app today, right?

DH auto approved for the CF with a RIDICULOUS CL! Why do they keep doing this to us? LOL

Congrats!

Got the message from the status line that I am approved for the Chase United biz card with $5K CL! Yippee dee doo dah!

And to you too!!

Another successful churning day for businesses all around :)

Not caught up yet but wanted to post that Universal AP discounts are available on the Loew's site  (not the windsurfers site yet) for this summer. I was able to book PBH for 6/6-6/8 deluxe room for approx 30% discount. I'm hoping more room types/discounts will be loaded, but at least I have something booked for our Universal nights! Hopefully this helps any of you watching for these discounts :goodvibes
How do you look them up on the Loews site?

For my NCL peeps, just got notice they're raising the daily service charge starting April 1. If you prepay your gratuity before then you'll get the current rate.

New rates:
  • $14.99 per person per day for any category up to a mini-suite stateroom
  • $17.99 per person per day for any suite or The Haven category

Looks like just a 49 cent increase per day, but they seem to be doing it every year now... I think they took a page from the Disney parks.
Now to decide on a couple excursions so we can use the AmEx offer too. I was playing around with the site and the prepaid service charges are added to the same cart as the OBC that worked for everyone else, so I should be good to go to combine into one charge for AmEx. :)

Flying in and out San diego. Want JAL because out of that airport they fly the 787-8. My 6'4 brother just got back with his gf and said if
your going to fly economy fly that plane as he was pretty comfortable. 2-4-2 means no middle seat. lol

The thought of not having to use my UR's makes me salivate.:-)
The thought of the 5k spend makes me nauseous:guilty:

Any opinion on the Brilliance card?

i see some flights from NRT-->SAN on JAL on BA website for 30k, but $228 fuel charge... not much other way to do it with UR.
MR, u probably should check ANA but im not sure if they fly to SAN.

Other way to try is getting AA cards, booking JAL with AA miles.

Hmm...2 DPs of PNC CC funding with Chase failing today on r/churning. Due to not enough cash advance limit - which means they didn't code as purchase. Could be nothing (hopefully) or could be the first sign that the golden goose is dead. :(

Up to 3 DPs on r/churning now and 2 on DoC (but 1 may be the same person). Not looking good. :(

I'm behind, but I wanted to come post that I received my denial letter from Citi AA regarding my match request. Looks like the same letter everyone else is getting. I DID just now try chatting. The rep said "rest assured" after review they will give me the extra points. Hmmm . . . after review? He/she said "rest assured" multiple times, and then . . . wait for it . . . he hoped that the melody and spirit of March would fill my heart with joy. Well, maybe not exactly that. But it was very similar to @vanjust14 's chat. I even got a "live long and prosper" at the end. What are they smoking at Citi??? I want some.

Interesting. I just funded DH's new account on Monday with his SW personal card. It posted as expected as a charge. Then last night, I funded a savings account with his SW Business card. The charge is pending. I can't see the funds yet in his account (it usually takes a couple days I think).

I think I may have messed up on my SW card. I had planned to cancel it. Kept putting it off thinking I could do before I have to pay it, bill due March 20th. But I now realize the fee posted on Feb 1. Was I supposed to cancel within 30 days of posting date? I feel like a noob with this question. lol

Ah ha, I found you, I thought I read someone asking about a SW AF refund. I don't remember if you got an answer but I just saw a DP today on r/churning getting an AF refund outside of the 30 days.

It's not guaranteed, but encouraging. Have to weigh if not getting the refund is worth still cancelling I guess. Although they should be able to reactivate it if it doesn't come through, I think. Then at least you'd have a shot at next years anniversary points before cancelling (if it doesn't throw off any other plans).

Edit: oh, forgot, there's a small bit of language in the r/churning post - just a warning for our more genteel folks before they click. (just a 3 letter word, I'll be honest, took me a couple reads before I even noticed it... I am not amongst the genteel crowd... :p)

We booked ANA with URs but it had to be round trip

You rock!

I have a thread on the Japan board with my itinerary. I actually just recently posted a separate one with my Disney itinerary.

It's not that I'm lazy I just have a hard time finding exactly what I'm looking for on the DIS - Do you have links? Maybe put them in your signature.

I'm thinking faster than I can type!

Thank you! Maybe I will try tomorrow. Had resolved myself that I would just keep it another year. I actually got the points in January so I could have cancelled before the fee even hit as it is 2 years old. I guess I’m not genteel either, I read it several times looking for the language and didn’t notice it.

I don’t know how so many people keep up with this thread and r/churning and I think also the gift card thread. You guys rock. Lol

:rotfl2:
At least it wasn't only me confused by their strange response! They do make it seem like they are going to give you the match at first. I think it was a trick to give her a good rating lol.
