DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

The Break of 2019 Update:

Still not a definite diagnosis but the doctor feels there is probably a hairline fracture on the inside of her forearm. That means a cast for two weeks and then rechecked.

Guess that just proves she Canadian, she just to polite to actually break anything...

Hope she heals quickly.

Morning all.

meetings and more meetings on tap for most of the day, fun times.

Headed for another day on the good side of 0, on a related note the river Flood Watch has begun. Lot of snow in the river basin above us so here's to hoping for warm days and cool nights to keep the melt in check.

I've been trying to avoid news lately as much as possible for Lent but I am amazed at what a big deal they are making about the college bribery scandal. I can't believe that there are people that actually believed that college admission was soley on the basis of merit. Call me cycnical but the wealthy, the politicians, the "influencers" have always been given advantages that the average person doesn't get.

In local news... the circuit court judge ordered our local politicians to go out for coffee twice a week with each other. Our County Executive and one of the magistrates are opposed by the other 3 magistrates so nothing is getting done. Eastern KY in general is going broke quickly and everyone wants to spend more time blaming each other and kicking the can down the road rather than work to solve the problem.

Wait a minute. A whole generation was told that if you work hard enough, then you can be anything you want. That's not true? Just when I practiced and worked so hard. You mean that won't get me an inherited business and million$?

As for KY, it's going broke. It's a shock that cutting or eliminating taxes to the wealthiest of businesses resulted in less money for the state. Trickle down economics doesn't work? Balderdash.

It was. :)

Nice.
Cora's I believe? One of my favourite places for breakfast/brunch.

Good to hear it's not as bad as it may have been. Hopefully relatively quick healing.

We had a few degrees above freezing yesterday too. We needed it to thaw out. Hovering right around freezing mark today but better than the -15 we had for the last month.
Hopefully no flooding comes with the thaw.

Oh my days...

6 in Vegas is too much. Vegas on the one of your birth is too much. 10 of wife and boy in UT w/ family is too much. This one, is turning out to be too much.
Much too much.

But at least I locked down flights for July... so that's nice.

Morning guys.

Thanks for all the well wishes. She'll get the final word this afternoon but the doctor last night said everything but the x-ray indicated some type of fracture. They put a temporary cast on it last night to immobilize it until she could get to the fracture clinic this afternoon. It is her right forearm and she's right-handed so it will be interesting. Any of you ever have to use a curling iron? LOL

Hope she feels better soon. Yet another reason why winter should be banned::yes::.
