Beware of Poachers and Look at the Little Gorillas! 3 trips in 1. NEW TR started 8/31/19**

We are suppose to hit 40 this week, I know for some of you out there that is cold but for us, it is a virtual heatwave! We have not seen 40 degrees since sometime last year, sad but true!
Ditto!! We are supposed to hit 60 Thursday.....before promptly returning to the 30's on Friday. I just got home from Texas for a wedding this weekend, and boy did 80 feel amazing!

We had a later lunch scheduled at 50’s Prime Time. D had been to Sci-Fi before and I thought this trip she should experience PT, after all she was born in the 50’s!
My favorite!!!!

Honestly I was hoping to avoid Star Wars crowds! We will be there 8/19 to 8/24, and I’m hoping we do avoid them for the most part...

I’m still going to be checking out Pandora and Toy Story land for the first time this trip. :)

Oh, I did stock up on my gift cards and I didn’t toss any in the garbage, a plus for me!
Oh my goodness, I'd forgotten about that! :scared1:

How does everyone feel about the phase 1 SW opening?
I think it's really smart, I think it'll help to control the crowds by breaking it up. I just wish I knew when the second ride would open so I can plan accordingly... I did lock down a room for November though... :rolleyes1

We were to tired and unfortunately I was really sore.
What a bummer. I hope things improved! Hopefully your rare resort day the next day helped!

D and I had a Mickey Premium Bar for our dinner.
I like your style ::yes::

It isn't surprising to me. It has sounded like really low attendance, so it makes sense to get the thing open to draw people in. And hopefully spread out some of the crowd. You will get some who will just want to be there because and some will wait for both to be open. I wish they were doing fast passes. I wonder how long they will keep it that way...

And fingerscrossed on the AP previews!
I am very happy with the roll out of SW in phases. I haven’t ever been able to participate in a passholder event and would love to do a preview or some passholder event!

You seemed to be doing fairly well, though!
Ahh Thanks, it was a bit slower of a trip for us but very fun!

We are supposed to hit 63 Thursday. Woo! Hoo!
We went from winter to spring in 24 hours and now we are in a flood watch, we just can’t win this year, lol!

OMG! I LOVE resort days and honestly, they are a must for me on every trip.8-)
I can’t believe I had never had a resort day, I enjoyed it!

I’m excited for the news, but kind of worried that a lot of people are going to push their trips up to August making August extra busy. We’ll be there the 10th-18th.
I love hot August, I sure hope the crowds don’t get to bad! I am glad we are leaving before the opening and I will see it eventually! It would be nice to just walk around the area before we leave.

Oh no!! Those rascally little aliens!!
That is one jerky ride, love the alien noises funny

Yay!! I'm still surprised by how fun Slinky is
It is a fun smooth ride

I'm so glad you guys are getting some warmer weather, you deserve it! It was randomly in the mid-60s here yesterday, and then back to the 40s today. I'm just ready for some consistency.
It is going to be 50 next week. Our snow is melting like crazy this week, yay!!

Raeven and I will be dealing with it in September - we thought we were going to get lucky and miss it, now we're a little worried about our DHS day.
I am hoping for AP previews...we were planning to upgrade DH in June just in case of previews in late summer (back in the good ol' days when we thought it was coming in late fall, LOL), but now I'm in AP limbo with him b/c what if the sign ups to AP previews are before we go in June now...will they let people with vouchers only and not activated APs sign up? So we're not sure what to do. We did decide to go back NEXT June as well, with all of us, so we can see both rides and the completed land.
I was so surprised when Andi text me, I told her she was confused and must have meant Disneyland not Disney World! I should know better, Andi does know all, haha! I sure hope we get an AP preview while we are there in August!

Why do people feel the need to do that :sad2: I'd be lying if I said we never quoted Haunted Mansion or Tower, and I sing along with Yo Ho during Pirates, but we are quiet about it, and really just whisper it to each other.
I don’t mind people quoting lines but the obnoxious singing and loud comments was a little much!

Right?? What a waste of a refurb!
Dumbest move on Disney’s part ever! This could be a great place to eat!

This has happened to me so many times, I get tired of asking, especially when we're in a hurry to go
I know, frustrating!

I agree!! Both times I've been here (at Jambo and Kidani) it was so hard to leave the resort, especially after a midday break!
This was such a wonderful relaxing resort and the fire pit was my favorite place to hang out!

We have a tentative September trip planned and we are excited! I don’t know if I even want to ride the ride, it sounds like it might give me motion sickness, but we loved being at the opening of Pandora so just to say we were there is exciting.
I can’t believe we will miss the opening by 3 days! I’m not sure if I am sad or glad, lol!

There’s a set of historians that I absolutely love. They have a YouTube channel and they are hilarious. They make the show a must do for every trip for us.
I think we had them. So good!

I wonder if this is the same one we had. Kinda sounds like it.
He was very friendly but a bit scattered

My parents were the same! I usually did good but my sister would be sitting under the table an hour after dinner because she wasn’t allowed to leave until she ate everything.
That is so funny, my parents gave up on me early on, haha!

Honestly I love relaxing on vacation. It took me many trips to feel that way but I did a lot of it on our recent trip and for the first time I didn’t feel like I needed a vacation after my vacation just to recover!
I really enjoyed the relaxing flow of this trip!

Ditto!! We are supposed to hit 60 Thursday.....before promptly returning to the 30's on Friday. I just got home from Texas for a wedding this weekend, and boy did 80 feel amazing!
It is raining cats and dogs here now, we are under a flood watch now! Snow is melting like crazy, back to 30’s for the weekend for us!

My favorite!!!!
We really liked our meal here. I’m also a big fan of Sci-Fi!

I am actually kind of excited for how they are opening SWL! I think the no FPs will actually be good in terms of crowd management and kind of levels the playing field for everyone. I'm just hoping the line won't still be 6 hours long but it probably will be! lol I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for an AP preview! I'm hoping that since I plan on getting DH and I APs for this year we will get to experience some sort of AP benefit for SWL too but I'm not holding my breath! lol

I haven't been to Prime Time in so long! Seems like you had a great lunch there!

I felt the same way about the animals when DH and I stayed at AKL! It kind of made me just want to hang out there and watch our animals rather than head out to a park haha can't wait to hear about your resort day!
I think Disney is doing the opening the right way with the phases and no FP at first. I am really hoping for a preview!
I’m a Sci-Fi fan a little more than 50’s but still very good!
AKL is so relaxing

Honestly I was hoping to avoid Star Wars crowds! We will be there 8/19 to 8/24, and I’m hoping we do avoid them for the most part...

I’m still going to be checking out Pandora and Toy Story land for the first time this trip. :)
I hope the crowd levels are manageable while we are there!
You will really love Pandora and TSL!!

Oh my goodness, I'd forgotten about that! :scared1:
I can’t and my husband won’t let me forget, lol!

I think it's really smart, I think it'll help to control the crowds by breaking it up. I just wish I knew when the second ride would open so I can plan accordingly... I did lock down a room for November though...
Yes, I agree! I would love to sneak a peek of SW Land! You are getting another trip in, that’s great!
What a bummer. I hope things improved! Hopefully your rare resort day the next day helped!
The resort day was a nice time!

I like your style
We all think a like! I won’t ever turn down an ice cream bar!

My verdict, I really liked it. The two historians, were a hoot! They really made the show. They ad lib really well! Someone’s phone rang and man, did they get a lot of mileage out of that!
I thought they were pretty good too. I wouldn't be terribly upset if I missed this show on a trip, but I also don't mind going to it.
I partly enjoy it because I enjoy to my girls with my terrible singing

It is so odd that Pizza Rizzo remains closed. It was so busy around this area and people were trying to go there to eat!
I find it strange too. I hope it's not foreshadowing of what will happen to The Muppets.

D and I enjoyed everything on Mom’s Favorites and we were members of the clean plate club and got our stickers!
I enjoyed Mom's Favorites too. Although I can't say I got a clean plate club sticker  There was green stuff on there :p

The pair we had were so funny! They really made the show. I agree it isn’t an every trip need but still really fun!

I know!! I would think they will need a quick service for all the masses heading into SW so maybe it will be open on a regular basis then?? I think the Muppets is getting squeezed to nonexistent.

I enjoyed Mom's Favorites too. Although I can't say I got a clean plate club sticker  There was green stuff on there :p
The green beans were really good!!

Hello Everyone! I have a 3 day weekend yay! I will be starting to get things ready for our upcoming trip. I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday, always a great day when you have the weekend off!!

Day 5, Part 1. “My first ever resort day”
We woke this morning to a very cloudy day. It was forecasted to rain all day, yuck! This is unusual for our wonderful Disney World! In all our trips, I believe we have only had 2-3 days where it rained all day.

I decided to hang at the resort for the day, my back needed a rest and the rain was not appealing at all! D and Andi decided to venture out to AK. We had FP for this park today. They went prepared with warm clothes and rain jackets. It was Pro Bowl Sunday and they were dressed like the Minnesota Vikings! :P

I was dressed in lounge wear, I tried to get a picture of my elephant sweatshirt and cheetah ears, except, I am not Insta savy, so my phone is covering my shirt:rotfl:

I spent the morning exploring the beautiful lobby, checking out the Mara for coffee and a cream cheese Danish, and lounging at the beautiful fire pit. I made some calls to my mom and hubby as I sat cozily by the fire!

The lobby was bustling and I do believe I saw some pro football players, very enjoyable to look at::yes:: They had NFL lanyards on and were also enjoying the lobby atmosphere before they had to head out in the rain.:umbrella:

Andi and D were having fun at AK! They did NRJ first and D loved it. She really enjoyed Pandora! She has watched Avatar many times and she said it was spot on.

They had a few treats at Starbucks and some hot cocoa.

It was cold and raining lightly at that time.
Andi said the park was low crowds. They did FoP, Safari, and Dinosaur. D really liked all of the attractions. It started to rain really hard after Dinosaur and it was around noon time so they headed back.
IMG_Mar152019at80332AM.jpg
We had an ADR at Sana’a this afternoon. Andi and D came back and dried out some, then we headed over to Kidani Village. This would be D’s first time eating here. We were able to take the internal shuttle bus over to Kidani. The driver was so nice and loved talking about Pandora!

We checked in for our lunch and waited about 15 minutes, not bad, it was definitely the busiest I have seen Sana’a at lunch time. I am sure the weather had a lot to do with that.
IMG_Mar152019at80407AM.jpg
Our waiter was very nice and organized. Andi was trying to find something vegetarian and with her picky ways, she was having a hard time. We started with the wonderful bread service! In retrospect, this would have been enough for Andi with a few extra pieces of naan bread. We all enjoyed this.
IMG_Mar152019at80434AM.jpg
We were able to see the savanna from our table. It was raining pretty good so not a very active savanna except the Zebras were running around in circles, really cool to watch.

Andi decided on a Quinoa Salad, it was huge and she literally ate 1/8th of that salad. I tasted it and it was good, however, I couldn’t image eating that as your entree. A small bowl of this as an accompaniment would be much better. I was glad it wasn’t super expensive!
IMG_Mar152019at80526AM.jpg
D and I shared the Potjie Inspired Dish. We went with the butter chicken and the cilantro-coconut vegetables, which is served with the basmati rice. This was delicious, the flavors were so good and complimented each other. The chicken was like butter, just like it’s name! This was my favorite dish so far at Sana’a.
IMG_Mar152019at80602AM.jpg
We were to full for dessert after our wonderful meal. The shuttle was waiting for us, perfect timing, and we headed back to the resort. We all lounged around in the room and watched our animals.

I will continue and finish out this day, Part 2, More resort lounging and hilarious pictures of Andi!

Adorable :) You look ready for a comfy Disney day!!

I will continue and finish out this day, Part 2, More resort lounging and hilarious pictures of Andi!
Lunch at Sanaa looks tasty! I don't know if anyone in my family would be adventurous enough to try it out with me, but that bread service is definitely on my Disney list for "next" time! Looking forward to more lounging and hilarity!

Continued from above...........

We had a nice relaxing evening. Andi decided to be brave and head out to MK in the rain. D and I vetoed this idea!:worried: We are wimps:rotfl:

D and I enjoyed the lobby area for awhile, we tried to have a drink at the lounge in AKL except it was packed! Everyone had the same idea. We decided to get a six pack of Bud light, I know we are classy ladies! :thumbsup2 We went back to the room and enjoyed our beer and some relatively cheap, for Disney, Lays potato chips. Buy these in the gift shops, way cheaper than the grocery store:blush:
We were on a streak with junk food dinners. Beer, chips, and M&M’s tonight!

Meanwhile in MK..................

Andi was having a ball, she said, It was deserted. She was able to walk on Splash, Space, PoTC, HM, and Big Thunder. Not only were these all walk on, she was the only one on most of them. Hence the Hilarious Andi Photos!!:jumping1:

She also was able to watch HEA right in front of the castle with very few people! She FaceTimed a few friends back at college and they loved watching HEA with her! She had a great night despite the rain and chilly air!

Day 5 was a fun and relaxing day for us!
