That's bad. That happened often to our last trip in September 2018 as well. I don't understand why that's happening, it never used to happen in the past except for rare occasions. We also took the Minnievan to MK and paid $45 for it. Before the Minnievan's price change, we couldn't get it during the morning rush at all. The Minnievan driver was awesome.
What time were you at the bus stop? We normally get there at least an hour before park opening if not earlier

We were there at 8:30, the park was opening at 9. During previous years, we had no trouble getting on the bus, though we might not get a seat. I only remember one time when the line went longer than the roped up area during the past 7 years or so. Until last fall, when the line spilled over like every day, it seemed. We didn't wait long when we waited in line (we had to wait because before the Minnievan price hike when we couldn't get a Minnievan at all), but it was strange.

Normally we go to the MK in the morning at 8:30, then come back around 1 p.m. and rest till 4 p.m. Starting next year, I am planning on leaving for MK at 11 a.m. and cut out the mid day rest completely, to avoid the incredibly lines we saw last year. We only saw long lines for MK; the other parks didn't have the problem.

Are you a morning person? Lol

I’m not normally but at Disney I force myself to be. It the park was opening at 9 am we would probably be at the bus stop no later than 8 am. We normally have a pretty empty bus with one or two families

We've been to the bus early, but then I just stand around at the park entrance and be bored. Sometimes we stand in big long lines waiting for the security check to open...I'd rather stand in the bus line back at the hotel. Also, we don't get to sleep until midnight, and the kids can't get up at 7:30. Heck, I had to kick them out of bed each morning at 8 so that we could leave at 8:30. I've been kicking them out of bed in Disney for years.

I don't mind being on a crowded bus at all, I just don't like a huge line; it I think it looks bad.

By the way, I blame it all on the new parking charge. I believe that because of that, more people are avoiding driving their own or rental cars and just using the Disney buses, and thereby flooding the buses. So for people like me who never drive in WDW, we still have to suffer the consequences for the new parking charge.

I guess the only time I’ve been on a crowded bus is right after park close. We don’t leave right after anymore. Instead we walk around in the shops for a half hour to an hour.

Since you’ve only noticed it with the buses going to the MK, I’m going to disagree. The fact is, most people who go to the MK take the bus regardless of having a car. It’s too much of a pain/time suck to drive to the TTC and then have to take the boat/monorail over.

Are there shade umbrellas by the pain pool at pop?

There are several umbrella tables outside the gated area on both sides of the Hippy Dippy pool and a few tables on the inside of the gated pool area, but I don’t think there are any stand alone umbrellas near the loungers.

I know you meant main pool, but pain pool is making me chuckle. :hyper:
Thanks for that!

Waiting for buses at park opening is just part of our expected days if we head to a park within 45 mins before or after park opening. Buses are frequent so even in December when all the lines extended well past the queues (and honestly past the queues to other parks) we’ve never waited more than 20 mins or so and often much less. Lines and Disney just go hand and hand so we make the best of it.

Wife wants to know if there are hair dryers in the room and what kind? Trying to limit our packing

Does Pop have cheerleaders, football/baseball leagues, or other groups which consistently stay at Pop during early May ?
May 1 to May 10 - after Spring breaks and Easter, before Mothers day ?

I don’t remember the brand, but it’s a “real” hair dryer, not the wall-mounted kind. It has high and low settings, but I don’t think it has the different heat (hot, warm, cool) settings. I find it is just powerful as my hairy dryer at home. It gets the job done quite well. I find it does take longer for me to dry my hair, but that’s only because here at home we don’t have any humidity.

We usually are ridiculously early, but it was a day to sleep in since breakfast wasn't until 10. I just assumed they were the families who don't rope drop.

Our Minnie Van cost was $22 to FW. Well worth it!

The Summit and D2 Summit Championships (Cheerleading) are May 2-5 and May 10-12. The resorts that are part of their special packages are the All Stars, Coronado Springs and Caribbean Beach.
