DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Fastpass day in the morning. Gotta be up by 5:30 to be online by 6:00 (could sleep a bit later, but if I'm the first one up I'll have to let out and feed the dogs and that'll chew up 15 minutes. Still not quite sure what I'm going to do... I left DD21 with instructions to pick her top 5 attractions from each park...

Figment?? Enchanted Tales with Belle?
Or... Soarin' and Test Track... well, there can only be one. Same for Na'vi and FOP. Should be interesting.
I think Winnipeg is in central time zone, so I presume you'll be up in another hour. Hope you get everything you want and I think I like Elle more now. Figment is still one of my favorites, but usually doesn't need a FP.

Hope you get everything yo...err...she wants.

Yep. Central, and I’m up. That kid better appreciate this. We’ll see how it goes in a few minutes.

Bad, rough day at work. But I survived. Then got a touring plans notification that an earlier time for my Arrival Day O'hana Dinner ADR opened up...but the My Disney Experience app wouldn't let me enter my phone number to confirm the modification, so I quick called the reservation line, and during the 20 minutes I was on hold, the spot got gobbled up by another lucky person. Because of course it was.

TL
Sorry about that. I thought you said DW wanted something different.
*EDIT* - Never mind...went back and re-read. you were considering switching and DW didn't want to.

So...just to make sure...how many people?

March 1 and time for the annual reminder...March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month. New guidelines recommend a first screening at age 45 for people with normal risk levels. This is 5 years sooner than previously because of the tremendous increase in cancer rates among the under 50 crowd. If you are 45 or older and haven't had an initial screening do it even if you aren't having any symptoms. It could save your life. It did mine.

Thanks for the support with DS. Still not sure what we are going to do about his senior year. His principal suggested getting a GED which isn't a great option in my mind. They just aren't looked at the same as a high school diploma though seeing what passes for education in KY I don't feel that is a valid argument. There are some online academy programs that might be an option but neither he nor I have felt up to sorting through all those options. I hate to have him waste 6 months of his life in school he doesn't like for no reason other than to punch a time clock so to speak.

I'd still think I'd fight it. I don't believe in suing people in general, but maybe a lawsuit against the school system where they stand to LOSE more that they'd get by forcing him to stay for doing his time (aka prison sentence)
Might be worth contacting the recruiter and explaining what they're doing. They might be able to get something done.
Just thought of another option...contact the news. Sometimes if there's enough bad PR, they will stop being stupid to avoid public ridicule.

EDIT: just thought if another...
Contact your congressman/senator. People tend to hop when they get involved.

Sorry, man. Hope your luck turns around today.

Figment?? Enchanted Tales with Belle?
Or... Soarin' and Test Track... well, there can only be one. Same for Na'vi and FOP. Should be interesting.

Definitely Figment. The Mermaid Ride. Skip FOP, ride Na'vi instead. Best trip ever!

FPs all done. No problems except SDD a bit later than I wanted so shuffled the order around.
All in all, pretty easy if time consuming.

Nice work!

Sorry the bureaucracy is striking again. Feels like it's everywhere.

Have a great weekend chaps.

You too, Dan!

Not a good day. At least today is Friday...

Great news. You even got Flight of Passage?

Thanks for that reminder. I'll have to talk to my doctor. The last we spoke, he said not to worry about that until I was 50. I wonder if that's US guidelines only or if Canada has adopted it too.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Lousy week, FIL back home from rehab and going back to normal of doing nothing and constant complaining - DW is ready to sell their place and put them in assisted living. Work has been a mess with lots of quick travel trips. Looking forward to this weekend especially since it's the last one til the whole family hits DaWorld in a week. Have a great weekend guys.
Well, it's a good news bad news thing. Or, glass is half full carp. I get to miss a meeting on Friday where I had to drive 3.5 hours. However, oldest is having her wisdom teeth cut out. She went to her orthodontist today for a checkup (retainer at night only), and he was going to release her for 6 month checkup. He ran an x-ray and they are all there and crazy aligned, just like my wisdom teeth 25 years ago.. I called the surgeon and they had a cancellation for Friday, so she's booked. It's a terribly expensive way too miss a meeting.
Sorry about the additional expense and having a teenager home all weekend with pain. Best of luck too her
That would be fun buddy.

The pizza oven is over there in the left hand side. Do you want the left hand chair or the right one? Or do we let Doc choose?
Nice setup Dan! We are all tired of the carp weather so 50s tomorrow and the Soccer parents are like the heck with it we need to grill so everyone coming to our place tomorrow

Nicely done! Did you see articles that SWGE is likely to have FP that you can pay for to get?

And another attack on the retirement system. The legislation allows contributing agencies to stop contributing to the retirement fund, and in lieu of a lump sum payment they couldn't afford, they can spread payments out over 25 years. So, now all can withdraw and stop making payments.

Actual Chuck E Cheese pizza:

That looks like an awesome set up. Next DDCC is at Dan's place.

Great idea. You cover the flights.

Darn the luck. Do you have the MDE app? I found it worked better than the computer.

I thought about recommending that as well. With a GED and military training, he will be quite marketable after his military career ends.

Right. That's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. Last one standing in Beaches after Poolside Iced Teas and Lobster Sliders gets to take Elsa home. And, let me tell ya, don't let her touch you down below. You'll end up with snowballs.
s.

Don't have to worry about that. Elsa will have to get my balls back from my wife before they can be frozen.

You know where I live right? Snowballs happened a lot earlier this winter.

Who's side are you on?

Don't answer that.

Nice work!

Thanks!

Great news. You even got Flight of Passage?

::yes::

Although, since we're doing AK in the afternoon, I was shooting for FOP, EE, KS in that order but instead got EE before FOP. Which doesn't matter at all.

Thanks for that reminder. I'll have to talk to my doctor. The last we spoke, he said not to worry about that until I was 50. I wonder if that's US guidelines only or if Canada has adopted it too.

Different guidelines in Canada. Don't ask me what they are, but when I brought it up with my doc (or down, as the case may be) I was told it wasn't recommended anymore.

Nicely done! Did you see articles that SWGE is likely to have FP that you can pay for to get?

No I haven't, but... I plan on avoiding SWGE until at least 2020 (assuming late summer/fall opening.)
I can do without the massive crowds, thanks.

We made it home. All 4 removed. And, she is really high. She has determined that the Dr has stole her tongue and Santa is bringing it back tonight, but only if we can get the house decorated. We are watching Tangled and she alternates between being happy and ugly cry.

You mean you're not going on PP 7 times in a row this time??

Sorry to hear about FIL. That sucks.

One more week!! Give me a holler when you get here if you want to.

Not surprising...if Disney can find a way to bilk us out of more money, guaranteed, they will. Good for my portfolio...sucks otherwise.

Do they still do the certificate for all the mountains in MK in one day?
Nice FP's!

I saw on FB that a few people were doing FOP multiple times this week, I think Maxpass is coming.
Have a great weekend guys.
You too bud, nice to see ya on here. Sorry about the outlaw issues. Enjoy the grillin'.

At least 2020 for me, especially as I'm meh on SW.

Will she let them go?

UGH - Sorry Norm
I didn't see that. But not surprising. I wonder if Disney might adopt Universal's model of paid express pass eventually.
I would think it's coming sooner than later. They can test and get a feel for it with Star Wars and then expand
