Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

This sounds awesome! I hope they still offer the Pirate Adventure cruises though. DD loves those. She wasn't really crazy about the idea of Pixar play zone but this sounds right up her alley!
I love the idea of the captain hook's pirate crew. DS will be 10 and it will definitely be something to put on our list. I'm kind of jealous it's only for kids...

Hi all, this may be of interest to those of you with 4-12 year olds.
I have been trying to book Pixar play zone for our Aug stay
and was told tonight by Disney signature service that it is not running during the time we are staying.
They suggested a new event;

“We will have a new and exciting experience for your children to enjoy while they are with us called CaptainHook's Pirate Crew. Each night from 5-8:30 p.m., kids ages 4–12 are welcome aboard, participating in an escape room-style activity and treasure huntthroughout the resort. The pirate recruits will embark on a short boat ride across Crescent Lake in search for the treasure, and later return to Seaside Retreat to feast together after their excursion. Captain Hook comes to check on hisrecruits, teaching them the secret pirate hand shake, and making sure they found where “X” marks the spot.”

Its running from Beach and Yacht club on a nightly basis and is $55 plus tax per child.
Do you have a link for this? I can't find any information on it.

I'm having trouble picturing it. The 1-bedroom unit has a bedroom and a living room. The living room has a connecting door to the studio next to it. Are you asking if that studio could be connected to the 1-bedroom to the left of it and the 1-bedroom to the right of it? I don't think the studio would have two connecting doors like that. But that's just conjecture on my part.

Do your reservations say "travelling with" so that the room assigner knows that you want the 2 BR villas to be near each other?

Regarding question 1 (which I deleted), for the studio room you are staying in the first night, do you have a room request saying that after you check out of the studio, you are checking into a 1-bedroom lock-off? I wouldn't assume that fact would be obvious to the room assigners and they would realize it would make sense to keep you in the studio and add on the 1-bedroom next door.

Also - I can't remember if there are dedicated studios at BCV. A dedicated studio would not have a door which connects to a 1-bedroom to form a lock-off. If there are dedicated studios and they put you in one, then obviously you couldn't stay and have that studio be part of a 2-bedroom.

Also remember that BCV is always full. It's not like there will be a bunch of empty 1-bedrooms on your second night, so that if you want one in particular and you were assigned to a different one, you could ask to be switched.

Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I’m hoping to be able to stay in the studio and have the 1BR attach to us for the rest of the stay. Our second villa is a dedicated 2BR, and I was wondering if there was any chance they would be next to each other. Believe me, I'm banking on the fact that our villas won't open up to each other!

This sounds so cool! Any idea when it starts? Who could I call to book this??

No. I couldnt find anything on it. It was a email sent from Disney signature service as i was trying to book Pixar playhouse for our stay.

They are still running the morning children cruise from BC and CBC.

There is a chance, but it is very unlikely

Speaking of scents, we LOVE to put the Green Clover and Aloe smell in my diffuser at home for a touch of Disney. I got it in Disney Springs at the Market Place Co-op. It's made by Bowes Signature Candle and if you put those together with a period and com on the end, they seem to have a website.

Oooh! Thanks! I didn't know about this product.

:thumbsup2

Thanks! I'll add that to the scent post.

Not there now, but my information is from 3 weeks ago.

1. Not empty or folded, but they have to be in the back of the boat. Not outside back, but behind the seats there is an open area that they have to be parked in.

2. No bus to Epcot. Water park transportation:

Typhoon Lagoon - bus to Disney Springs, transfer to TL bus.

Blizzard Beach & Winter Summerland Mini golf - bus to Animal Kingdom, transfer to BB bus.

I don’t have a picture of the bus times board, but I noticed a phone at the YC bus stop that I think is relatively new. At least I don’t remember it before. I took a picture of that.

Thanks for confirming the transportation procedures for me and for the picture of the phones at the bus stop. Interesting.

We got upgraded from a standard view to a water view at BC last April, but our “view” ended up being scaffolding and strange men on our balcony at all hours. But we couldn’t complain, it was still an upgrade, it looked lovely at night, and our room was SUPER close to the lobby! :thumbsup2

:welcome: to the thread!

Thanks for posting about your experience.

So excited.. Dh and I will be at YC 9/9- 9/12. I really need a Disney fix and I can't believe he has agreed to come with me. He hasn't been to DW since 2009. I stayed at BC in 2012. I can't wait to catch up on whats going on around the resort. Its been a long time

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

Oh, and Dee? Please modify our dates on the Be Our Guest List. We'll be there on the 17th! Thanks!

Will do!

:woohoo:

Just switched our honeymoon reservation from GF to YC!! Mainly for location and pool, and unreliability of monorail. Oh, and extra magic funds pixiedust: And lots of eating at Epcot..

Absolutely cannot wait!

:welcome: and CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I'll add your trip to the list. October?

It starts mid april and i have booked for Aug. I would call the disney play number which you use for other tours.

Thanks for sharing the info on this. Sounds very cool!

I used Buena Vista Rentals (866) 484-4797. The chair was waiting for us when we arrived at the hotel. No problems at all and you leave the chair with bell services when you check out.

:welcome: to posting on the thread!

Thanks for the helpful info and endorsement for the rental company.

Here is the picture of the bus info sign that I took this afternoon.

Perfect!

Thank you so much!

I did the Regatta Run at the Yacht Club Marina this morning and it was a lot of fun. My husband took a few pictures of it. We had approximately ten runners with two of them being young teens who smoked the field. It was tons of fun. :)

Good job! When I compete against the young ones I'm not adverse to cheating in the name of old age. I like to yell things like "NANA NEEDS SOME CPR" or "YOU DROPPED YOUR PHONE!!!" to get them to slow down.

The phone one always works with the kids and you can gain even more extra time by saying "Sorry, I accidently kicked it into those bushes over there"...

Thanks for these pics. My DH is interested in this in March.(I will be sleeping lol!)
Can he do it if we are at BWI? I think they have one too but the YC date works out better.

The elevators now have Mickey, Minnie and Goofy, one voice per elevator, announcing what floor you are on. It is a little unnerving to hear the voices for old BC fans like us who have stayed here for years. They said that they added the announcements recently.

I have one more bus area sign for you.

We are very sad to be going home today. We will be hanging out at Storm Along Bay until it is time to go to the airport. It has been a great trip.

Wow that’s cute! I think this is the first time I’ve read about that. Wonder if they will add it at YC too.

I can attest that the BCVs have the voices too! Just Minnie and Mickey since there are only two lobby elevators. It hasn't made it to the single elevator in the middle of the Villas. I was riding solo when we first got there and had to do a double-take! Creeped me out at first, but being the change agent that I am, quickly warmed up to it. It's funny to watch other guests mouthing or mimicking the floor announcements.
