I love credit cards so much! v2.0 (see first page for add'l details)

You tell him! Ain't nobody wrecking your hobby (or keeping you in TN!) :D

Along the lines of dh's jobs, my dh text me the other day that he got a promotion...Went from IT Director to Senior IT Director. He did not get a raise this year so I got hopeful thinking maybe they gave him a raise. LOL, nope no raise, just more responsibility. Gotta love working for a nonprofit:laughing: He really needs to find a new job. Preferably in FL or TX!

Omgosh that is awful. No raise!? Definitely time for a new job.

I tried it but it cannot find my 'business'.
I'd be somewhat surprised if "businesses" show up on a business credit report. The Sole Prop's we all have likely won't trigger anything without a real EIN. If it did...I'm not sure what it would even say, lol.

Tangentially related: I think there was a comment or 2 recently on r/churning about people being concerned that banks would start using biz credit reports and our ability to get cards could get shut down. As a commercial banker, I think the odds of that occurring are pretty slim. There's a cost to pulling all of these reports - small biz credit cards are primarily underwritten on the guarantor (i.e. you or me personally) so I don't see them justifying the cost of a true biz credit report. It's much more common to see a biz credit report ordered when there's a larger credit ask (i.e. a term loan to purchase equipment/building or a working capital revolving line of credit).

Ok - I'll stop acting like a banker and go back to being a churner now :)

DH is discussing a new job with the CEO of said company. He calls me to fill me in. Starts with "they give me a car." Um, nope, I use the heck out of the hertz points plus the 3x we earn booking the hertz for work every week. That brings me to his next statement..."he also mentioned a company credit card." Double nope. Absolutey not. All these perks are what makes it tolerable that he is out of town 2-4 nights a week and works crazy hours. Keep on searching hun, I can't handle all these changes. Plus, it is in TN. Triple nope.

DH has to use the company card too and I hate it. He has a four night stay at a Hyatt in april and I have that new Hyatt card to meet MSR on.

We're used to it. He's been there 11+ years and received a raise maybe 4 times. I never expect him to get one and if he somehow does, it's like an extra $60 month lol! But, yes, he really DOES need a new job. We can't move now though for a few years so unless he can get a job where he can work remote, he's stuck there for awhile longer.

We didn’t get a chance to see the new LEGO movie yet. We loved the last one. And I totally enjoyed the Batman one too, I laughed...a lot. Next movie for me though is Happy Death Day 2 U on Saturday before Kelly Clarkson and How to Train Your Dragon next Saturday!
I went to train with another processor today and came home to an internet outage! The plows took out the junction box in our yard. Turns out it’s much bigger than just us, so I don’t know if we have a major line in ours or if it’s just coincidence. This is a huge problem since it’s only my 2nd week on my new job and I work solely from home. :-(

Yessiree!! Between DH and I, we have 3 of these 0% deals right now. Letting the balances run up and earning 2.2% in savings (or more if I can get the Wells business checking deal). I do realize this will hurt the utilization ratio on my credit score, so I may decide to pay off before I apply for the next card.

Having a balance on the CIC won't hurt your utilization bc business cards don't report report to the credit bureaus.

Kind of :offtopic: but I’m working on taxes. I have a rental property, which never makes a profit. I charge $2500in rent. Taxes and insurance insurance are about $2500. This year I put a new roof on the house for $3600. Do I really need to send a 1099 to the contractor? For those of you who have one or two properties, is this necessary? TurboTax thinks so...

Yes, you are supposed to send a 1099 for anyone that does work for you but isn't an employee. It's non-employee compensation on the 1099. The deadline to have those out was Jan 31 though.

I have always done my federal return, paid for it and then gone back and done NC because Tax Act never asks me if I want to do a state return since WA doesn't have state income tax. Now it wants me to pay for the federal and the state when I've already paid and filed the fed. I don't owe anything to the state since I lost money last year, yay for getting the entire inside painted before new tenants could move in.

Do I even need to file if I'm in the negative? I'll have to figure the paper form out.

I always have that question come up but since I pay a management co to manage it all they do all of that so I'm guessing that means I wouldn't need to do it. I get a 1099 MISC from the mgt co.

Howdy all. It's been a while since I paid attention here and I'm trying to catch up with all the changes. BTW, WTH with Chase dropping Disney from their portal. Very displeased.

I need to pick a hotel chain to target. I am learning about the new Marriott system and looking at Hyatt and IHG. Any preferences for which chain you like and which reward program?

I need more credit availability for my business. I have an Ink card and plan to get an CIP. But, I'm also looking at other Amex business or the Delta or Marriott Business cards. Prior to the Chase/Disney issue, CIP was a done deal. Now, I'm thinking I need more than just the UR point system. Any preferences for a good business card program?

Hi...were you looking to stay at a Disney resort or somewhere nearby....with the CIP and UR points you can book any hotel on the Chase travel site..we just stayed at Wyndham Bonnet Creek..which is closer to the parks than some Disney resorts and loved it. I’ve also booked a Marriott Resort in March with UR points
I prefer the flexibility of the UR points

DH got a “promotion” last year. Raise? Nope. But the “possibility” for better bonuses. So far his checks have been smaller. (Salary plus commission) ugh. DH absolutely won’t even look for a new job. His pay took a dive with the recession and never recovered.

How was I supposed to know that? Lol
Is there a dollar limit, like more than $600 or 100 or something? Penalty for sending late?

No management company, just me. I’d really have a loss if I paid someone else to manage but I did have quite a loss last year due to new roof.

We just got back from a Disney cruise paid for via UR points. I have enough points for another and looked into that options when I learned the option was gone. We are DVC members so we won't use it for Disney rooms, but I would have for cruises or park tickets.

I don't have a grand vacation plan at the moment, but we plan to travel more and more. Cruise, Hawaii, travel the U.S. plus I travel for work (under my expense) about four times per year. I have not opened my cards in the last 12 months so I'm just looking to start building points and I'll find a way to use them. I have options to build more Chase UR; or I can start with one or two Hotel chains and an airline. We usually use Spirit (yes I know, but we do fine on short trips) but our local airport is a main Delta hub. I'd do Southwest but they don't have any direct flights from Detroit (at least not to anywhere interesting). So, I'm thinking a Delta card, the Bonvoy Business, Maybe the Hyatt and/or the IHG card. Maybe get the wife the Spirit Business card (you can combined Spirit points between the business and personal right?) We do okay finding flights to Orlando for 2,500 point on Spirit.

All I think of every time is Bon voyage...as In...see ya Marriott. Ironically, that is pretty much how I feel about them.

I think of Bon Jovi. Lol. That’s it, from now on it’s Marriott Bon Jovi to me.

DH just yells "CONVOY" these days. He wasn't happy when it changed over on his online account yesterday. Such a dumb name.

for WoH question....nobody here familiar with the program/cc?

I have the WOH card. I'm not sure what info you're looking for. I'm still in the MSR stage and haven't redeemed any points. I didn't have a Hyatt acct. before so they issued me one when I got the card and it was linked to my account.

I am somewhat. We earned Explorist status for our Baha Mar stay in 2 weeks! Club access!!!

I think I missed your question...

Nice!!! Enjoy!

:eek::eek::eek:

i did something similar to buying a new car, bought me a new TV!
the promos got to me. :(

14% off with ebates, + 10% off AO + $100 Dell credit. i had to get something... lol.

DH is looking at TVs, but sadly the one he wants went up $50 last week. I guess it's so they can put it on sale soon? Can you tell me what AO is? I'm hoping he can use that $100 Dell credit for this purchase.

I’m not familiar with Spirit..so no help...sorry...we live 10 minutes from ISP and fly SW with the companion pass...but wow 2,500 points is great

I prefer the versality of Chases URs....we can use them to book pretty much any hotel chain, airline, cruise, car rentals buy Disney tickets etc or transfer to their travel partners....or they can be cashed out

And Hi..DVC member here too
